Does poju draw in colour and then just print in non colour? Honoustly his black and white prints are impressive, and the style is opt to emulate for its efficiency.
I thought these guys were meant to be fine art. wtf is this shit?

Are you serious? For most of Kent Williams' career he was a comic artist and illustrator. The reason he says "visit this old friend" is because he literally did Wolverine comics a few decades ago, pic related.
Bet you never heard of Alex Ross either
>>2904964
Kent is okay, his girlfriend Soey is better than him at painting imo.
I've seen Dan Quintana draw Batman crap for comic con. I think it's just a way to appeal to more people and sell more stuff.
what's you think of my drew? it's based on my childhood in my grandma house
The cartoony figures clash really hard with the moody background

I am trying to make a banner for an artists page. I never really make them so this isn't looking too great for me. I feel the letters look like shit with no flow. They are supposed to be painted behind her and that octopus is going to be scraped.
Any input /ic/?
>>2903382
I suggest you bring the letters closer together. When they are too spaced out it looks awkward. I drew this thing in 3 minutes, it still looks like shit.
Make sure the edges of the letters blend together nicely.

Try that except redo the N it looks horrible in mine
Also try to get the bottom left corner of the G to fit in with the A nicely.

Thank you I appreciate the input
Anyone ever heard of this program? It seems like a really good program if you're in watercolors.

Weird, was just gonna post about this.
Tried it out. The brush engine is really cool. Apparently it came out first back in 2005? Crazy how I've never heard about it before. I'm not really a big fan of water colors or the transparent ink look but I appreciate how well it simulates it. Is there a way to make the paint opaque? Seems like a wasted opportunity and kind of gimmicky otherwise. Although it seems to lack stabilization (?) it can create marks that's just not possible with traditional painting software. The dry brushing is fucking delicious. I only wish it was possible to paint in a more dry goauche kind of mode. Not a fan of the UI. This should be integrated into Clip Studio or something.

looks cool, thanks for sharing

Does anyone lnow where I can find refrence models? I want to practice the human form. Just as a hobby and ya know research purposes
>>2905049
Check the sticky for resources. There's a few links to reference sites. If you're looking for real life models, try a close friend if you don't want to pay for a model, or check local art galleries, art schools, or even Arthouse clubs or bars to see if they offer life drawing classes or sessions. You can improve and meet new people, if you so desire.
Another thing that I would recommend is borrowing or purchasing anatomy books. First study bone structure, then muscles, and build up your bodies that way. You'll get a greater understanding of the human form so when you finally do get to doing life drawing you'll know each muscle and limb and what it's meant to be doing. Also get used to life drawing terms like contrapposto and foreshortening (an obvious one). Good luck.

Burning crusade artbook, page 20, go see for yourself.
How important this guy really was to art?
He was very important, most art historians think he was the beginning of the Renaissance because he drew/painted directly from observation. Even though Brunelleschi wrote the treatus for linear perspective after Giotto's death, Giotto still had a grasp of it before he even knew exactly what it was (pic related). iFrom drawing so much from life, he figured out a lot of things that traditional byzantine-style painters (like his Master, Cimabue) ignored completely in favor of popular style.
I'm pretty sure he also came up with a more durable egg tempera paint for frescos, which is why his work has endured for so long.

If you are a /beg/inner in art, please use this thread to post pieces for critique or ask for advice.
We should not have to make new threads or post in the drawthread with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make someone proud.
RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:
#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead (I recommend ShareX)

quick question for all you zoological artists out there:
I'm trying to design a dog-like monster. Sounds simple enough, right? Well the trouble is the legs. I'm trying to give it this graceful ballerina-esque pose but when I go to scribble out the legs, I get really confused trying to get the joints in the right place since clearly the hind legs of a dog are a bit different anatomically from those of a human.
Any suggestions?
>>2903244
Do you have trouble drawing something like this or what? Just think of it as a human with really long feet standing tiptoed. Treat the front legs similarly.
study the pelvis and how it connects to the femur, and now the femur connects to the tibia/fibula.
if you can grasp that then you lay the muscles on top of them.
>>2903244
Quadruped anatomy is essentially the same as human anatomy but with very different proportions. The bones themselves are the same. Try googling for some anatomy charts or something that will show you which bones match up with what. Searching stuff like "comparative anatomy" should help.
Otherwise for a ballerina type thing with long legs maybe look at the Maned Wolf since it's proportions might help you out and the legs are very visible and not hiding behind thick fur.
That about all I can say without actually seeing your drawing.
