There used to be a crack for this (v4) , but it has since disappeared from the net, does anyone still have it?

CGpeers has it.
Mine: The idea of 'working big' still applies to digital art. it can be easy to limit yourself by zooming too much
>>3022811
I suggest looking into fractals and how they work to get an idea of why zooming is a terrible idea.
It's important to know why things are without just repeating what you've heard.
My rule is to autistically measure everything that is drawn from observation. treat it as if there's a looong list of algebra equations that need solving.
here use this

I used to enjoy this guy's fantasy landscapes but had not seen any new stuff from him in a year or two so I decided to look him up and lo and behold, all of his new work is hot garbage. Completely awful stuff.
How is this possible? It's as if he lost 5 years worth of skill.
I hesistate to post this because I truly wish Espen all the best but I am genuinely shocked and puzzled over how a young artist can regress so massively in skill. Did he suffer head trauma or something? Some of his new stuff on his twitter look borderline retarded. His old social media pages on facebook and artstation are gone so I suppose it's possible that he went through some bad private stuff. If you're reading this Espen I am sorry for my harsh words but I really hope you get your groove back.

looks like he focused so much on rendering that he lost the charm in the originals, the new ones look muddy, maybe from overblending?
>>3024341
As someone who went through something similar, possibly trauma, physical and psychological.
I experienced disease, the end bad of a relationship and death of a person close to me ( including finding her corpse) in a span of half a year and then a few month later my forehead was hit by a metal slab hard enough to split the flesh to the bone and giving me a concussion.
In that span of a year or so I lost about 5 years worth of skill and working on getting back to pro level again is hard.
>>3024341
That is weird, he sucks at rendering and constructing characters and it seems to have seeped into his landscapes.
IF YOU ARE A /BEG/INNER IN ART, please use this thread to post pieces for critique or ask for advice. We should not have to make new threads or post in the Drawthread with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make someone proud.
RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:

TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.
OLD THREAD: >>3021452
How can I improve this other than adding highlights?
Still pretty new to a tablet btw (had it for a week), so any tips for software or hardware appreciated as well.

I saw this a while ago, but it's long gone now. What are the sort of things that should be important when drawing your own character from scratch....I remember seeing someone say that you shouldn't draw things on just because it looks cool, but because it has meaning
>>3024556
Always have a strong silhouette for your characters.
>>3024556
Pick a good colour scheme, then design clothes that fit the character's personality. Also, never overdesign, I always tried to keep it simple. Then again, I'm still an amateur, so don't quote me.
>>3024610
What are your influences? Those designs make me remember something from somewhere but I can't quite put my finger on it
>draw stuff and post it one twitter
>guy sees it and wants me to draw his family, willing to pay me 30$
>can't get the faces down
>run the pic through a sketch filter and photoshop it
>thanks!
>gives me 40 for a job well done

Thoughts on my art?
I really like the style and subject matter. It's classy and has a refined atmosphere to it. I'd only suggest just improving more foundational skills (such as anatomy and value grouping) and doing more life studies to make your work even better in the future.

How would you draw an "complete, ideal" smug anime girl? "Ideal" in the sense that they embody everything it is to be a smug anime girl. Bonus points if you can convey it without actually making them look smug in the image.
I thought of it as some sort of test and I'm fucking stumped. The only remotely clever idea I had was to just draw a fatman at his computer, but that's impressive as a shitpost first and an art piece second in this context.
>>3024527
There are plenty of "your style, my style" threads with more or less the same layout that live long lives. There's one about fidget spinners right now, this isn't significantly more autistic.
