I am new to /fit/. I have only very recently started to pay attention to what I eat and exercise my body. But I don't know what to do to be /fit/. This is what I look like at the moment, before doing any serious lifting or dieting. What should my course of action be? Bulk? Cut? Etc?

After cleaning my room over 2.5 months a go. I have decided to get in shape. I've lost roughly 38 pounds.
I'm 5'7 and a still a fat fuck at 180 pounds. Obviously coming from not doing anything to having an active lifestyle I've lost even more so than the 38 pounds since I've gained muscle. But how much of the off set weight is muscle, how hard is to gain a pound of muscle if you we're going from doing nothing to being very active.

Does it really matter? Even if I told you some figures, how could you possibly confirm it? Just go by the mirror and any metrics you can grab, typically weight and measurements. Also, performance at the gym.

I started with resting for 2 days at start since at the beginning I was a little bitch about it. But now I follow the routine while increasing weight

I just would assume that gaining muscle weight at the start going from someone sedentary lifestyle to an active one would be easier at the start.

Should BMI be discarded as trash by people who are working out?

Here's casual in clothes Jason Statham at 5'9 (some say 5'10 but i doubt it. Maybe in shoes, sure). So anyhow, why does this look so much healthier that Conor McGregor who is also 5'9 but looks waay too sinewy and almost unhealthy fit.

But! McGregor's BMI is perfect, where as Statham would be normal but closer to 25.

tldr; Why does Statham look so better than McGregor at around the same height and McGregor being actually much fitter in practicality?

BMI is a statistical measure to look at population and correlations. It is not a measure which says "if ur bmi is x thats bad and if its y thats gud" except by retards who don't understand how these things work.

As a statistical measure it is very good, as most people are not abnormally muscular or atrophied.

If youve ever taken anything fitness/health related in school you'd know BMI should be never used to dictate someones fitness, its too general and doesnt take in any variables such as muscle mass

also mcgregor probably trains in ways that are specific for his sport, making him a better athlete in his sport, not to look better

My squats feel like hit.

I used to do high bar squats and made the change to low bar squats for a while, BUT IM ALWAYS TOO UPRIGHT FOR LOWBAR SQUATS

Is low-bar just not for me? I told one of my friends in the gym and he said something about my proportions maybe just being better in high bar

How do i find out if i have a long torso or short torso, long limbs or short limbs? I was told having a long torso, people are more comfy in highbar

Stick out your butt, lean forward a little more, and tighten your core. Look at Ripptoe's videos. "Hip drahve" is a useful concept.
