Why do people get particularly disgusted over finding hair in their food? Is it really that much nastier than all the invisible skin cells and sweat you're eating?

I got off work at 7 and I bought a burrito and coffee on the way home. I've been drinking vodka and I'm hungry again.

I'm having a serious craving for crab cheese wontons and hot and sour soup, but I can't get delivery without paying a minimum fee...what else should I get?

Has anyone tried a no nightshade diet? My stomach and bowels have been in a lot of pain lately and I am wondering if a no nightshade diet could help. I've heard from some crazy "talk to trees" type folks that nighshades should be avoided. Is this in anyway true?

Yes, my tricorder readings are showing elevated levels of nightshadeophilic histamines in your upper GI tract. Being a doctor, I can confirm you are definitely going to benefit from whatever it is you are asking about.

Sincerely,

A doctor

For the stuff we eat it is the solanine that is a problem. Yes, you can have all manner of trouble from eating foods high in it, including your symptoms. Green potatoes are normally the worst offenders (since you can't really taste it and can eat a lot of it) followed by underripe black nightshade berries (since there's a lot in them, but its bitter so you don't eat much at all), and all green peppers (since there are cultivars of peppers like green bell and jalapeno that are purposely picked unripe).

Keep in mind that your problem may only be some gas and bloating. Try massaging your abdomen and see if that helps. If it does then its more than likely some hard stool and/or gas. Stuff like walking and running also have a similar effect of getting things moving and feeling better.

got my annual health check results this week and my good cholesterol is too low. bad cholesterol is fine. I eat very healthily.

what can I make to boost it that won't make me put on weight?

I was surprised because I go through a shitload of olive oil. maybe I need better quality oil.

Exercise more, eat fatty cheeses from grass fed animals, and drink 4 oz of strong red wine every day

You're probably buying fake or rancid olive oil
>>
>>9408846

how does exercise affect cholesterol levels?

I already drink a lot of red wine and eat plenty of nuts and avocados. cheese will make me put on weight.

it could be the olive oil. I buy expensive extra virgin but cheap normal oil because I go through it so fast. it's certainly not rancid or fake - could be processed I guess.
>>
>>9408861
>how does exercise affect cholesterol levels
Pro tip: you can type questions into www.google.com and you'll get answers

The price of the olive oil does not determine whether or not it's fake

In a blind test most people will choose the fake oil over the real oil because they are unfamiliar with the taste of real oil

Garbage tier food that flyover tourists were tricked into thinking was some kind of exotic "gourmet" street food

I wish them success because anything even remotely Islam-related becoming mainstream is going to trigger the sort of oxycodone-addicted hayseeds who are ruining this country, but I will not pretend the food is anything worth discussing

Some of us make our own ketchup; some of us would never dream of that.

Some of us have work-dominated schedules with precious little time for cooking; some of us have all the leisure time in the world.

Where's the line for what you should and should not be making yourself, no matter what?

... or does no one on /ck/ actually cook?
>>
>>9408723
I draw the line at things that take a long time and/or specific environmental conditions to age/ferment/etc like most cheeses, liquor/spirits, and fermented sauces or condiments.

I do make relatively quick ferments that can simply be stuck in the fridge, like Kimchi. I also make many of my own cured meats. I've got a batch of Tasso curing right now, in fact.

I do make my own ketchup, BBQ sauce, etc, with tomatoes from my garden. Once you know what you're doing it is very low effort: dump ingredients in pot and simmer. When it's done, run it through a food mill and put in bottles or jars.
>>
Of course there is no line for that, why would there be?

Good Eats. To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Good Eats. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewers head. There's also Alton's existentalist outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from the works of Kierkegaard, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Good Eats truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Alton's existential catchphrase "Give Peas a Chance," which itself is an ironic double reference to a cold-war hippie phrase, and an edible garden vegetable. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Alton Brown's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them.

And yes, by the way, i DO have a Good Eats tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid

Does anyone else here actually prefer cold pizza? Whenever I order pizza,I do it at lunch so that it will be cold for dinner.

I'm not joking. Cold pizza actually tastes way better because the hot melted cheese overpowers the flavour when it's hot but when it's cold, you can taste the dough and sauce more profoundly.

yeah same. i mean i dont go to such lengths, but i think i prefer cold pizza as well. and cold food in general as well, almost any food I prefer cold, except for cases where it's disgusting, like slabs of fat in soup

>as it cooks burger turns into a ball
>constantly smash burger with spatula in pan as it cooks

>dry ass overcooked completely grey juiceless burger

This triggers me the most, and it seems far too many people actually cook burgers this way....you don't, do you?

Is it me or eating caffeine is much more efficient than ingesting it as a brew?

I've just made some matcha muffins that I totally botched. Not enough sugar and too flour-y. However, I ate 3-4 of them and I feel like I've drank as many energy drinks. I've never felt so much awake in a long time. I'm even sweating.
