Yes. Out of those, only Avalanche and the Mario Tennis game was somewhat decent on the GC, not as good as the originals though.

Was there really some kind of region lock? I remember perfectly playing some japanese games on my American SNES (Super Butoden 2 comes to mind), the carts were a bit fat for the cart slot but they still fit.
