How many games do you finish? I have a huge problem with starting to play a shitload of games and quitting at about the halfway point or later. Forcing myself doesn't seem to work since longer games just lose their appeal completely.
Maybe you should start small and work your way up to longer games. Try playing through some arcade games until you're ready for RPGs.
>>3960623Kagami > Konata
Shit, don't even get me started on RPGs, I think I've finished like a handful from the dozens I've started.

I was really little when I watched Lucky Star while it was still airing in japan, so I'm not sure if that's true. All of those otaku terms went right over my head so I still need to re-watch the show. But I haven't because I've been meaning to draw more.
Say, you wouldn't happen to have something else in your life that might be affecting your backlog-finishing skills too, do you?
I'm about to dive into this one, /vr/. The original Zelda didn't hold much appeal to be but I like that this one seems different and the top-down exploration perspective seems okay.
I plan to play this like the days before the internet and keep notes with a pad and pen instead of resorting to FAQs.
Are there any specific bits of advice you'd give me, /vr/? Please no spoilers!
PREPARE YOUR ANUS
Don't collect 1ups (link dolls), save them for the end of the game.
Don't put the jewel into the statues at the end of the dungeons, save them for later when you really need the exp.

Dairas aren't even the hardest enemies in the game. If anything, they're casual filters.

Why have I never heard of this before? This is crazy, a commercially released Playstation emulator that was turned into an actual console by Apple? Did anyone here own one?
>>3960518
You may have your facts wrong.
>>3960518
Connectix made a Playstation emulator for PPC Macs. Bleem was completely different. These were both software only. Apple released a failed PPC console called Pipin. It would have choked trying to run the Connectix software.

I loved VGS, back when shit like P64 and ePSXe were unbearably slow and broken.
Which had the better library?
NES for sure it completely dominated and got all the best games in every genre. SNES had to fight to keep developers and carefully split the market.
Sheer Amount? NES
Genre Variety? NES
Best games? SNES
NES. All the devs were developing for the system. NES didn't have a real rival for market share, at least in the US where the Master System never took off.
This fucking guy.
He's the man.
Is that pocket fighter?
>>3959928
That's Dan not Guy.
Whats some good 3D platformers that aren't just colletathons? I'm looking for something where you're on an adventure and trying to get from A to B not collecting 100 rings and 10 token animals per level
>>3959390
Soul Reaver 1 and 2
Chameleon Twist had an optional Crown item you had to collect in every level to unlock the last world or something, but otherwise you just go from point A to B.
An action-adventure game which also happens to have a fair amount of platforming elements peppered throughout, especially the dungeons.
Who's more at fault for this bullshit? Collectors or resellers?
The guys willing to pay that.
>>3959234
Collectors, for buying it.
/thread
>>3959234
but dude it's SEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALED
Hey /vr/os
I started playing Realms of the Haunting and it's fucking stellar. I really like that early 3D look too.
Any other good games that have that low poly look to them on PC?
I've already played System Shock 1 and Ultima Underworld
Any other good games with a nice low-poly look?
Surely you've heard of Doom and Duke3D, right?
>>3959160
Yeah, actually Duke 3D is probably my favorite FPS.
I should've mentioned, I'm familiar with the staple FPS.
Doom, Duke 3D, Shadow Warrior, Strife, Blood, Hexen, Heretic...
I guess I'm looking for more niche titles like RotH.
>>3959148
there's that one chink fps made on a stolen build engine or something
never managed to find a copy on the internet
I think Dark Forces and Eradicator are pretty cool
then there's TekWar which is interesting because it's based on a novel by William Shatner and honestly no other reason
When playing Street Fighter 2 i noticed i can play way better with a bigger Dpad. I am searching for the biggest Dpad i can connect via bluetooth or usb (using an adapter) to use with any emulator of my choice.
I never took the time to actually measure the size of the Dpad to know for certain.
Now i shall take my trusty calipers and measure all the dpads i have (see picture). I measure the distance from left edge to right edge of the dpad and i measure the diameters of the facebuttons. Those i prefer to be big too.
Results will be here in ~10 minutes.
Results are in!
I wish the
N64, Gamecube and Switch Pro would make a baby.
Why not play with an arcade stick?
>>3958245
I tried using snes score master (if you even consider this an arcade sticks) and i couldn't even shoryuken rtight. The Stick was way too hard to move and i was scared breaking it if i used it too forcefully.
-I do prefer grabbing a controller over hovering my hands over a stick and buttons
-Strong thumbs
-I am very very very used to good Dpads
-Never really used/felt a good one
I don't know what to call this thing. It's just generic emulator #32563985 but with a Vita shell.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had one? Is it any good? What consoles will it actually run? (it says 32, but I don't believe them) What the fuck is it actually named?

It pretty clearly says NES, Game Boy, Game Boy Advance and Mega Drive. Just buy a real PSP for the same price and mod it. It's easy.
>>3958115
why do they always wanna make it sound like a big deal
>>3956885
This.
>>3956885
I dunno man mario probably
I think mario or zelda or maybe castlevania
I'm looking for an old Castlevania-like sidescroller.
I was for PC and it looked different from other 2D sidescrollers... less cartoonish. The design was like a cross between futurist and ancient, if that makes sense.
The levels had traps and the thing I remember most distinctively is how your character would get pulverized into nothing if he was zapped by a beam.
This game was on one of those cheap game compilations that were floating around then. I remember that same compilation also had Abuse on it.
It's probably a shitty ass obscure game considering I can't find absolutely anything about it on the internet, but I still wanna find out what it was.
>>3956739
The fuck is that scary ass picture?
>>3956742
No OP but just google the filename. I'm assuming it is something Greek Mythology related.
>>3956739
I'm tracking it down for you OP. What continent are you on?
Are there any legit cyberpunk JRPGs? Are there any old cyberpunk RPGs at all?
Cyberpunk was mainly a western genre during the 20th century. There are sci-fi RPGs e.g. Phantasy Star but they don't really qualify as cyberpunk. You can play the Shadowrun RPGs on Genesis and SNES if you want but I think they were mostly Western designed.
>>3954858
lagrange point
>>3954869
Oh yeah I forgot about that recently getting translated. I even played it and it really is pretty cyberpunk.
how long you guys think physical media will last before it all starts to rot away?
Im scared for my Dreamcast and Sega CD games
This is why i collect cartridge only
>>3954314
Vacuum seal everything, and put it in a cool, dark dry place. It will outlive you.
>>3954314
it will take decades if you take care of your shit but you need to realize that nothing lasts forever
Hey /vr/. I was super bored yesterday and hungry. I decided to go into a goodwill and found these. Wtf , i said to myself and obviously found bought them. They both work and even have the battery lids.
And?
I found two Lynx 2s like that for $5 each at the same Ohio Thrift before I went to the state fair a few years ago. It was nice to put one back in the complete packaging I'd been holding onto for the last 20 years after a so-called friend stole the console in high school.
>>3954049
Pretty good find OP. I found a Game Gear for $9 at Goodwill not too long ago, but it only came with Sonic 2 and it needs its caps replaced.
