Anyone remember this game? After searching for 20 minutes I

I thought it was rather fun, Hoping Hexen II is just as good.

Heretic was better imo, but it does not beat Doom. Heretic suffer from odd/dull weapons and kind of dull enemies with not so much variation. Heretic was pretty good during the first 'episode', but it steadily went downhill as it became just more of the same.

Still had more fun than with Doom though.

Hexen is pretty famous. I might be one of the few people that think Hexen 2 is better.

I remember only playing the demo.

There was enough missing from the first hub that it was frustrating and annoying and pissed me off so I didnt even bother asking my dad to get it somehow.

I also only played the shareware episode of heretic too.

Later on when I got the full games by disreputable means I discovered that all the missing content was worth missing.

The first episode of Heretic was quite literally the best. And the phoenix rod was forgettable (and useless with the tome). And no BFG either.

And the whole Hexen game was well worth missing since it took way too much backtracking, and you only got 3 fucking weapons (I needed 5 bare minimum, or Rise of the Triad's item dropping system)
