Guys, we needed this thread. Here it is.
Why is there no english translated uncensored snes romhack for FFIV? Or just a snes romhack with the 1:1 the gba script + uncensored stuff?
There's AT LEAST two of them.

>>Why is there no english translated uncensored snes romhack for FFIV?
Oh, it's a 'pretend it's 1997' thread?
>>3095781
But they are both rather average. Ay?
Any arcade collectors or fans here? I'd like to get into the Sega Naomi platform among others when I get the money.
Also, post pickups/home arcades/setups/whatever
I own 5 cabs but they're kind of strung around right now, though all of them work except the one I'm planning to do a MAME conversion on.
I always think it would be cool to learn how to fix and restore old arcade cabinets but I am sure it is more complex than I think.
NAOMI is great, first arcade board I picked up back at the end of '14. I now have 14 boards, what a fun rabbit hole it's been.
Okay /vr I need some help. I bought a 65inch 4K tv a few months ago and because I was right about to move, had all my retro stuff in storage. Now that I'm at my new place, I went to set it all up only to find out that my systems can't be recognized by the tv.
Any kind of workaround for this so I can get back to gaming with my retro stuff on this tv?
>4k
I miss when 4chan wasn't full of normies.
You might need an upscaler.

Road Rash II Mega Drive is the best IMO
Road Rash 64 doesn't have the best graphics but it's the most fun to play

I played the DOS version when I was a kid. Haven't played it in years though. Gonna get the PlayStation version so I can play this game once again.
Sonic Adventure is better on the Dreamcast.
This is the only conclusion I can come up with as to why everyone hates SA but not SA2.
SA2 has all the same flaws as SA. However, perhaps my view is distorted because I only play the Dreamcast version rather than any other version that followed.
Can someone vouch for this? I imagine the majority of people who hate SA, played SA2 first and then went back to the first game on a non-Sega system.
This was also apparent with Super Mario Galaxy. I know plenty of people who can't get into Super Mario Galaxy 1 after playing its superior sequel. I'm one of these people since I played 2 first.
What do you make of it?
There isn't all that many differences between versions.

Also, pretty sure a lot of people just hate 3D sanic in general.

>This is the only conclusion I can come up with as to why everyone hates SA but not SA2.
SA1 has Big the Cat as a mandatory story, and doesn't tell you where to go you have to run around on the overworld for fucking ages.
SA2 is more straightforward and action packed. It's biggest problems are the Knuckles levels being too big of a pace breakers, and that the story makes nonsensical jumps all the time.
Both of them suck due to the godawful controls, camera, and collision detection.

>I never actually played them, but I watched a couple YouTube of videos once
The post.
Can anyone tell me the major noticeable differences between Glover on the ps1 and the n64?
One's on a cartridge that comes in a cardboard box, the other a disc in a plastic case.
>>3093117
LOL! Because he wanted like gameplay differences, but you said PHYSICAL differences!
HAHAHA! That's funny!
He wanted one thing, but you said another!
HA! You must be 'the funny one' in your group, huh? I bet you post funny comments on facebook too, don't you? Like someone will post a status and you'll post something 'funny'? And they'll say 'LOL' but they secretly don't like you.
God, you are hilarious, man!
I'm serious, but have you ever thought of doing standup? Like you could be the next Jimmy Carr with your quick witted observations and biting satire.
A lot of the music got butchered on the PS1, surprisingly.
Would it be possible to mod a Super Game Boy and turn it into a Super Game Boy Color?
>>3092067
No.
>Faster CPU with some additional instructions
>Expanded color pallete
>Different BIOS ROM
>>3092067
Just get a gamecube. Best reason to own one.

here's the reply you wanted
favourite ninja and karate games
an actually worthwhile C+4 game, that loaded
how could it be this good? we never knew...
It's a stretch, but I'm gonna count this one. Slashing your way through a dystopian future with an indestructible katana is pretty satisfying.
what's your favorite handheld, /vr/?
>>3090541
Original Gameboy and Gameboy Color by far.
Wonderswan is a close second
Followed by Sega Gamegear
I don't like handhelds.
Does /vr/ prefer cassettes or CDs?
carts
>>3089060
Didn't only Japan call them cassettes? Unless you mean the few systems that actually used cassette tapes as a storage medium, but you use a cartridge in your pic, so I will assume not.
Carts with exception of most sega since they put capacitors in them that die early.
CDs are too easy to scratch.
Please post old games that play like Alone in the Dark. I remember one where you enter this village and go into a pub and monsters attack you (no not Alone in the Dark 3). I think the game starts with you riding on a horse. I also remember one where you travel through time and you are in WWII and later in the future. Another one where you are in some French museum (you have to disable some laser alarm system) and it's about crusaders. I don't remember any names though.
>>3087905
First one sounds like Ecstatica 2.
The one in the museum is
Time Gate: Knight's Chase
The one where you time travel is
Time Commando
What are the dark fantasy games of olde?
Hexen 2. Great art direction and superb monster animations, but gameplay kind of falls apart in the third hub.
The first two Thief games are pretty much flawless.
Faxanadu
The Immortal
Diablo and Diablo II were gritty as fuck.
