hey umm is there a game with an iron robot cat?
With or without ears?
>>3085402
a cat needs ears
>>3085409
How about Treble then?
About to start this up for the first time. What should I expect/watch out for?
>>3085365
Expect a PIXAR movie in video game form
>>3085371
Awesome.

Know that it is impossible to get theRusty Anchor songwithout a guide.
Post spaceship shooters that don't use spaceships.

It pissed me off so much that there was literally only one reason to own a 32X, but that reason was fucking awesome. Being a Sega fan was like being in an abusive relationship.
Fond memories with this one. As a kid i'd play it with a certain friend of mine every time he came over.

I'm looking for one or two good RPGs on the SNES/Super Famicom to play over the holidays. I've already played through the Final Fantasy games, Chrono Trigger and Earthbound and liked all of them (well, FFIV not so much, but the others). I generally prefer turn-based RPGs to action RPGs. Also I don't speak moon so it needs to have a good translation.
I know that I can find plenty of SNES RPGs using google, and I know about games like Metal Max, Romancing Sa-Ga, Dark Half, Tales of Phantasia etc. but there are so many of them and there seem to be lots of mixed opinions out there so I don't know which one to play, so let's hear your opinions on good SNES RPGs. Which ones are the best? Which ones should be avoided?
>>3085014
You should give Live a Live a go, it's short but sweet. It is one of the most universally adored SNES RPGs
>>3085014
I'd recommend Breath of Fire II, and Super Mario RPG. And I know you said you're not into action RPGs, but I would also look into the Soul Blazer series (Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, and Terranigma).
Lufia 2, is a pretty fun RPG.
>Find a game you love
>Every level better than the one before
>Second to last, awesome hard and fun as fuck
>Finally beat and hyped for how great final level will be
>It's just a fucking boss rush.
>In a game where the bosses weren't a highlight
>level doesn't even look good
>Only one new boss and it kinda sucks.
>Beat on first try.
>Disappointment.
Disappointment thread.
>>3085009
is that really how fantasy zone ends? we never beat it growing up on the master system
>>3085012
Yup.... last level is just each of the previous bosses and then a big Opa... I mean the game is still great and the last real level rocks, I just wish it hadn't let me believe there was more to come.
>>3085009
The last level of bloodlines starts out great, but then it just stops and fuck you death is a boss rush in this game
What's the best and easiest to use cheat methods for PSX games? I never used them back in the day, but there are a ton of playstation games I want to run through with god mode and whatnot.
Gameshark or something like that? Something that works with ePSXe.

Because I don't want to spend 4 days and read 3 books learning mednafen and a useful frontend?

Sorry to bother everyone here. I checked the catalog and couldn't find a topic specific to NES emulators. I came here before and got a lot of help on SNES emulators so I thought I would ask again for help. I have been looking through the various nes emulators available but I'm not sure which one is the best. I kind of remember JNES but I don't remember it being anything special or that high of quality. I read that FCEUX was good but I've also heard about RetroArch and Nestopia. I'm just not sure which one is the best one to use. I've heard some have really bad lag for input control and others have really bad pixelation problems. Thanks for any help you can offer.
I'll ask here instead of making a new thread:
Where do you guys get your roms?
The rom depot that the guy had seems like it's just down. I should've downloaded the romsets before it went down.
>>3084562
I think they'll all have lag since they weren't meant to be played on flat screen monitors

How do I make Commodore 64 Music?
Buy a sammich sid (Google it) and a sound card with a MIDI output. Most authentic way to make the music without a commodore. Even uses the original chips.
Use a tracker like SID-Wizard or Goattracker. Most modern compositions are made like this.

>most authentic
We can all agree this is the best Gradius game of all time, right /vr/?
Man that first level music is too damn happy it just always makes me feel great
Usually seems to come down to either that or Gaiden, yeah.
>We can all agree
No.
What made this port so bad besides being outsourced?
Also what was more powerful, Naomi or Model 3?
>>3084145
NAOMI
It was a rushed port of a game that was already 3 years old and as such was competing with Soul Fucking Calibur and DOA2.
They should've made Fighters Megamix 2 using VF3 engine instead.
Comfiest 16 bit era games!
>comfy

To sit back and relax while playing.
The Bonk series.
All of them are easy, comfy games
Bonk 1 has the best atmosphere
Bonk 2 is the best game in the series
Super Bonk has the best soundtrack
I want to try XCOM: Apocalypse or Terror From The Deep but my only experience with the series is Enemy Within and XCOM 2. The dated look of it / style makes it look daunting. How does it play differently from the current firaxis xcom games? Is it [spoilers] fun? [/spoilers]

Better.
Hi all, I'm playing UmJammer Lammy right now through POPS on my PSP. It mostly runs fine, except for the point I've gotten to. The problem is, whenever I get to around Stage 6 (pop idol level), the game freezes whenever I get partway through.
I have POPSloader and I have tried doing this level on each version of 6.xx, and I'm playing the US version of the game.
What should I do to get level 6 working properly? Has anyone else emulated this on a psp and had a specific version of POPS that worked for them? Thanks.
>>3083768
You could try to use an eboot instead
>>3083816
I'm using an eboot of the game.
>>3083768
I had the same problem, ended up buying it on the Vita and it worked fine. The guy who made the eboot that got uploaded everywhere probably used a corrupted ISO.
ready guys?
Ready For what?

ng+ obv.
ready for that shit tier filter?
no
What retro game has the best wizard or spellcasting mechanics?
Wizardry and it's clones - the spells have utility besides damage dealing.
I liked Dungeon Master's spell system because it involves the player in the learning/memorization of the spells much like the characters and works really well with the pressure aspect of real-time combat.
>>3083716
The problem with Wizardry 8 spells is that they do shitty damage.
