Who's that semen demon? Looks hot
Thought's on Westone's Wonder Boy series versus Hudson's Adventure Island? The first games are almost exactly the same with a few changes here and there, but Wonder Boy went in a completely different direction with Zelda 2 style RPG platforming where as Hudson mostly kept Adventure Island the same throughout
Monster Land series is best. Adventure Island series can't compare
What's the best way to play the Wonder Boy series? Sega Ages 2500 Series Vol. 29: Monster World Complete Collection for the PS2 sounds swell.

Sure if you can read Japanese or don't care about reading the clues in the ARPG games
How do I get good at this game? I can beat most versions of Tetris no problem but for some reason this game doesn't click for me, any tips?
>>3083237
It's very different than Tetris. You have to plan ahead and build combos with what you're given. I don't know how to put that into words other than keep playing, or maybe do some puzzle modes to get you used to seeing what kinds of patterns will set up combos.
>>3083240
Pretty much what this anon said, you need to think ahead. Also it's based on color chains so you need to stop thinking in terms of shapes and start thinking more in terms of colors. Maybe try playing other color-based puzzle games as well like Dr. Mario to train you brain to think along those lines.

Zelda Classic thread.
http://www.zeldaclassic.com/what.php
>Zelda Classic is a tribute to (what we think is) the greatest video game of all time: Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda. It has been developed into an exact replica of the NES version that we all know and love. Beyond that, Zelda Classic allows the development of new quests that can use either the traditional graphics or enhanced graphics, as well as new enemies, items, and challenges.
>>3082963
How come Nintendo fans only ever want to replay the same handful of games over and over and over.
>ohh but new graphix maeks everyting better!!!
>>3082965
Because the gameplay is fun.
It has nothing to do with graphics. Plenty of ZC quests use the Zelda 1 graphics set.
We want more dungeons and overworlds to explore. Sorry if that's too hard to comprehend.
why is this shit still closed source
This shit should really be updated with current rosters ala Tecmo Bowl, you know what I mean.

Play Shadow President or CyberJudas instead.

YOU'RE A FUCKING WHITE MALE! YOU ARE A WHITE MAN!!!
>has six playable characters with their own different stats
>has a boss character that relentlessly pursues you, is virtually unkillable until the game's end, and can appear at a moment's notice
>has an elaborate side quest to get the game's best weapons
>has a day to night system that actually has a purpose to advance the game
>has a secret boss that can be fought each day that, while optional, can reward special items that are worth going out of your way for
Was Friday the 13th ahead of its time? Since Sweet Home never got localized, was this NA's first real survival horror game?
Who are you quoting?

There's a precious little 13" Toshiba CRT at the Goodwill warehouse right now with component and Svideo inputs an large side speakers for just $3 that I want to give a home to but my wife is starting to get irritated with me. I already have four other 13" CRTs not even counting my big PVM and the ones in cabinets

What was your favourite digimon game?
favourite digimon?
favourite season of the anime?
Did you prefer it over Pokemon?
>>3080260
Really kiked digimo world 2003, loved patamon and hated the first digimon world. Later on I played the wonderswan digimon game and thought it was really neat (basically emulates the virtual pet and had a tournament system like monster rancher).
I think the show was okay but the animation on season 1 was terrible.
>What was your favourite digimon game?
The original Digimon World, of course.
>favourite digimon?
Pic related.
>favourite season of the anime?
It might be a predictable answer, but Tamers.
DW2 was a grindfest if there ever was one
The last one got destroyed by shitposting. Let's try this again.
Now you're just asking for it.

Well, that cover art looks more modern than I'd expect for 1988.
>>3080240
>looks more modern
What the hell does that even mean? It looks exactly like the kind of thing you would see on the cover of a 70's or 80's fantasy novel. Do you even stop to think before you open your stupid fucking mouth, you clueless retard?
Anyone remember the old 1898 War Of The Worlds game?

ofcourse, we're all in our 60s
Played the PC RTS when I was a kid. Gave me the willies and, because I'll eternally suck at that genre, kicked the shit out of me.
Heard there was a console version that was an actiony shooter or something, but I never saw it.

looks cool
What was the Sega equivalent to Nintendo Power? Did they have a magazine like it for the master system or the genesis? Also do you guys still read these magazines and use them for games?
I read through all of the issues of Sega Visions a couple of months ago. It was insane seeing them cover Master System, Genesis, Saturn, Game Gear, CD, 32X, and Pico in one of the later issues. Pic related is a from one of the first issues. Both are great games.
The sega equivalent of Nintendo Power was Nintendo Power, because sega kids would read it wishing they had the better system than what their parents bought them by mistake.
>>3079473
Sega Visions, if you filled out the little card and sent it in they gave you a subscription for free
Did I do good, /vr/?
dun better, used to dream of combos back in the day because of obsessing about this game

Mario was way more popular than Zelda in Japan, and Zelda 2 takes a lot from both Mario and Dragon Quest. Is it possible that Zelda 2 was an early attempt at making the series more popular with Japanese players?
>>3079248
I feel like it was an attempt to explore a completely new avenue of RPGs.
As to not to make the same game over again with slight differences, a la jp-Mario-2 at the time.
It borrows a LOT from Dragon Slayer though.
