Hopes for upcoming sets (C17, Ixalan, Dominaria)?

Okay I have no idea what I'm doing. How do I fix this? http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/the-absolute-hazoret-jank/
>>54496977
Play Neheb 2.0 instead and actually have fun?
Seriously though, Hazoret is terrible and really hindered by not having access to B for mass discard.
Okay /tg/, it's me, Mel Movie Executive, the richest movie executive in world. How rich am I? I brought this infinite void to have this meeting in.
Anyway, I've been hearing good things about this Warhammer 40,000 game. I wanna turn it into a cinematic universe, something to compete with that Star Wars bullshit Disney's got.
So I brought the rights this morning and I want you to turn this 40k thing into a movie.
Pitch me your idea for a Warhammer 40,000 movie. Go, you got 30 seconds.
>>54496535
Been said before.
Eisenhorn trilogy with Liam Neeson as lead.
Good film for fans, and plebs can probably understand it enough as a jumping in point.
>>54496535
creating new characters mary suish enough to survive multiple movies in 40k is bad
adapting existing stories will result in nerd rage and disappointment
creating new stories with already existing characters is fanfiction tier
the cinematic universe will need to be formed by roughly independent stories and characters
actual events and characters in the background will have to be mentioned or somehow visible "as if happening in another room, but visible through the glass"
the plots for the various films must not have consequences, even just potential ones, as far as the main narrative of the setting is concerned
bad ends are a very valid option
>>54496535
I don't know what it's got to be about, I'd probably just adapt a Space Marine story, but it has to be entirely animated.
Is it possible to roleplay romance without it being either cringeworthy, shit or otherwise magical realm tier?
>>54496383
Yes, but you have to have non-cringeworthy people roleplay it.
In other words, not on /tg/.
No, it is literally impossible. It's never been done and it will never be done. That is an immutable fact of life. Now go away.
Yes, you can if the romance is tragic.
Happy endings are for faggots.
>Got drunk, watched toy story.
It's Andy's birthday and once again he's getting toys. But these aren't the kind that Woody and friends are used to; these are 2000 points worth of Tyranid miniatures who seek only to kill.
You choose whatever Tyranid units you'd like to fight in the battle but the, only restriction is that they cannot be above 2000 points of units/upgrades. Scenarios take place in Andy's room, with Tyranids having just arrived inside their respective boxes.
Meanwhile a 3 million strong colony of army ants on the move has shown up outside on the yard and is intent on making the house into it's home base.
>None of the humans are present for the battle.
>>54496319
Tyranids, assuming they're metal of course.
>>54496319
The Tyrannids bounce towards the other toys. They raise their bonespitters that convulse to unleash their deadly payloads... and nothing comes out. They raise their razor sharp claws to rend flesh from bone... and they bounce off of the plastic hides of the other toys.
Then Buzz punches the Hive Tyrant, and the superglue holding it together fails and its head falls off.
>>54496816
This is the correct answer. Even though they are supernaturally sentient, they still abide by the limitations and physics of our world.
Your party/character finds a neat puzzle box!

Guys, I need some help!
Several years ago I played half a Pathfinder campaign with a bunch of fat, hardcore nerds. It was fun, but I haven't played any real D&D since. I've played lots of RPG vidya though.
I asked my ultra normalfag friends to try out d&d, and board games are currently hip, so they agreed. I have the pictured red box, so now it's up to me to create a very simple, fun adventure where I'll have to DM.
I need tips and help! My basic ideas right now are to create some pre-made characters and hand them out, else character creation alone will take eight hours. I suppose there's no reason not to use the red box map and simply create some dungeon crawler adventure, right? What do you think? How do I make D&D fun for a bunch of newbies as a guy who has never DM'ed before?
Additional info: there'll probably be at least 3 girls
>>54496105
Resign to failure. Death awaits.
>>54496105
>there'll probably be at least 3 girls
how many people will attend this session then?
>>54496147
Other than myself, probably 6-8 people (I'm assuming 1-2 will bail with short notice. Can't trust these fucks).
You party finds this in the bowels of ancient dungeon.
What is you course of action?
>>54495780

What do you think of half-dragons?
>>54495612
As good a reminder as any of the benefits of anal.
>>54495650
>never heard of ass babies
>>54495612
Generally played by special snowflakes who need an excuse to have special powers or be better than everyone without actually working for it at all. Would not allow as a playable race in any of my games, except for maybe in the case of Draconic Sorcerer, and even then you just get the benefits of the class itself, not an entirely separate race.
What Lovecraftian god would your character worship?
>>54495151
Aren't a lot of them completely indifferent to humanity?
>>54495202
Yes but like three aren't I think. Let's just say that for some reason your PC has to worship one, which would it be?
>>54495151
Basically all of them aside from Nyarlathotep, yes
What's the coolest thing you've ever seen during a Game /tg/? Whether it was one of your players or your yourself is irrelevant.

Axis and Allies miniatures, not a lot of people played it but it holds a special space in my heart.
>me (germans) and best friend (japs) vs 2 random guys (both Russian)

>IS3 chews through our advance armor and we retreat behind mountains and into forests
>we have good anti-infantry but their infantry is secure behind their point hog of a tank
>our last hope lies in a hail-mary unit
>german flamingo tank, garbage damage, garbage armor, can die earlier than other tanks with the same armor
>flamingo however insta kills anything it hits when it rolls three 6s (in which it can only roll 3 dice against armor and only at close range)
>allahu ackbar the flamingo into the IS3
>the IS3 annihilates it, but in A&A minis your units have a chance to shoot before they are removed (usually)
>flamingo fucking rolls all 6s and takes the IS3 down with it
>superior jap infantry is able to slaughter the shitty russian infantry

>"I try to convince Ke-"
>"No dude you don't have to convince me, I want that hat"
>Walks up behind the Inquisitor, we all expect him to get caught and blammed immediately

AD&D 2nd ed game from today
>clearing a castle that fell to the evil Zentarum
>wind up pulling a Han Solo, group chases a skeleton into a whole bunch of skeletons
>room is brightly lit with a fire
>NPC wizard webs them while I hold them in the doorway
>web doesn't catch fire when it touches it, it's an illusion but lights the room up
>torch lights the web though
>can't hit the skeletons for shit and the cleric keeps turning them conveyor belt style
>they turn corner out of sight of his holy symbol, come back
>we finally get tired of this and move to chase them
>cleric is Hold Person'ed
>other fighter is feared and runs
>obviously an evil priest/cleric is afoot, but can't be seen
>my fighter gets mostly surrounded by skeletons
>get bright idea to bull rush and dive tackle through the fire on a hunch
>nat 20, tackle hidden cleric to the ground
>wrestle and hold him hostage style with my sword on his throat to make him call off the skeletons
>he fails any sort of morale check he had, makes the skeletons sit idly
>the skeletons are beaten to destroy them
>tie him up hands, fingers, gag, everything to make him unable to cast
I think I saved all of us from having to reroll by figuring out where he was and stopping the 8 or so skeletons that were kicking our asses up to that point.

What would the standing army of a wizard republic look like?
If we assume that it is a stupid powerful magi-industrialized D&D nation?
Yeah I don't actually think the wizards do the fighting, so it's not AS bad as it looks, until they absolutely have to step in - and most likely, step back, because wizards can go anywhere including private mansion demiplanes or across the world or live in the sky or hang out in a 100% inaccessible mountain retreat. Even in a relatively neutral and positive nation where the magic normally helps everyone lead a better quality of life than the rest of the world, if push came to shove they'd just leave the working class to the wolves because it's an expedient risk-free solution and in the end it doesn't matter which mundanes get to live under them, or whether any do at all.
You're still looking at scary shit like golem, hybrid monster experiments and undead armies before that point, but if you want to build a campaign, that's all plenty fightable by regular heroes. So a war against the wizard nation isn't a lot of fighting wizards, but for an adventure's sake there would still be a smattering of wizards among other resistance.
It's just a bunch of regular dudes in chain and plate. Probably a bit better armed than the average, accounting for the fact that the wizards are probably very wealthy.
Now, the fun part is when you relax and think "well this isn't too bad". You attack, maybe you even start winning.
Then some fuckstick opens a gate to hell under your feet while laughing maniacally like he just did the cleverest thing ever.
We all make jokes about laying the dragon instead of slaying the dragon.
But has anyone actually pursued a relationship with a dragon in game?
How did it turn out? And issues crop up with that character, or the dragon even? Did it last long?
One person tried
He chose poorly and went for a white dragon, frozen by ice breath and decided not to try and lay the dragon
Well not romantic relationship, but I did have one of my lizardfolk adopt a wyrming - She found a nice place for her to hide, made some kobolds to be her minions and set up her witch's hut nearby.
>>54495008
Ironicly, in games I DM white dragon is easiest one to romance, because they don't need much in terms of metals or looks, just someone crazy enough to go near them.
Alright /tg/ I have in my setting weapons of great size and weight called Titan weapons.
They are only wielded by those legendary heroes of exceptional strength and were created for the sole purpose of fighting and killing huge monsters.
Think of things like Clouds Buster Sword, Gut's Dragonslayer and any of the Grand weapons from Exalted. These things can't be wielded by normal men and basically take super strength to use in battle
Anyway with that out of the way I need some pics of large, unwieldy, and impractical weapons magical or otherwise
>>54494880
That's the dumbest justification I've ever heard. Spears exist for a reason.
>>54495059
It doesn't need to be smart it just has to justify something cool
Hell I didn't even need to go that far I could have just said there were bigass weapons you needed to be a fucking shounen protagonist to wield and been done with it
I didn't ask for your opinion on these weapons I asked for some inspiration
Anyone played Open Legend? I'm thinking of moving systems for my fantasy 5E campaign, as it's too rules heavy for about half the group and has too boring martials and not enough options for the other half. Open Legend looked relatively interesting as a rules-lite ish game with more options than DnD. The alternative is 4E or Strike where it's much more like a video game and my players are all gamers.
I've just had one player complain about how his fighter was boring, one complain her ranger just shot her crossbow and did nothing else every turn and two others be a bit confused by the rules in general as they are new. The rules unfamiliarity can be overcome but i feel like as 2/3 of the group has directly complained then it might be time to look for alternatives.
>>54494594
Thanks for the insight. I'm just asking if anyone had played it…
>>54493964
Also interested. It keeps popping up in discussions.
Wouldn't mind a share either, if anyone has one.

BULLgryn-anon here with an update.
My original plan for the right hand holding the gun didn't work out, so I opted for cutting the ripper gun's grip off completely and then attaching the 'one-handed weapon' hand from the minotaur kit with a steel pin. The entry point is covered by the bottom of the Ripper gun grip.
With a bit of dremel and greenstuff I think I can make this work, though the gun's grip is wierdly long now.
