Sup guys.
So I've been into Traveller for a while now and because the first edition Mongoose book had some really shit deckplans - we're talking missing pictures, bad scans, blurred details, etc. - I took it on myself to redraw them for my players so they'd be easier to see and navigate. Now that second edition's come out I figured I should drop some of the ships I've drawn up here, cause I had a lot of trouble finding good versions of them in the first place.

- Lets you work in base 10, the most common form of counting on the planet
- Too baller to be a platonic solid
- Percentile dice are amazing for rolling treasure, random effects, and monster encounters

Wondering is anyone has any good systems for capturing territory in an open-world ttrpg.
Recently I started a campaign with my players where they have to capture territory for the king.
I made a hex-map of the world, figured out travelling, random encounters, etc. but I still haven't figured out a good way to "capture" a hex so it's the king's land from then on.
I don't want it to be difficult, but it also just doesn't make sense that it's automatically the king's land if you just travel through it.
I'm playing 5e with a few tweaks (obviously), if anyone was wondering.

I probably should have said this before, but the majority of the world in in anarchy. There are a few locations of tyranny, and a few democratic societies, but mostly it's anarchy.
I was thinking that maybe relatively small civil landmarks (watchtowers, trade outposts, etc.) would be just their own hexes, and for relatively large civil landmarks (cities mostly) capturing them would give you all the hexes around them too.

Just like making "dwarves" into giants and "elves" into short-lived jugglers from Martian cities can all be categorised as plain old "bullshit", so can making your demons good in an angels vs. demons story.

I dunno, I feel like as long as they're "fallen from grace" versions of things called angels (who are themselves messengers/servants of a God figure) and/or are generally imprisoned in a Hell-ish abyss people will generally understand what you mean when you call them "demons."

in the last D&D 3.5 setting we played, the party befriended a level 15 female angel, by the end of the setting the angel was level 20
in this new setting, my players are roleplaying as the souls of their previous characters now reincarnated into new bodies, new life and memories as well, but one of them recently remembered part of her past life and several fragmented details of it, among those was the good and happy memory of the female angel
now, the thing is, im planning them face the angel they befriended when they reach level 20, she is now a lawful evil infernal alied with an empire from overseas, the party is level 9, they will eventually cross the sea and find the now evil angel
BUT, as much as i have thought about it since the begining of the setting, i cant quite come up with a reason for her to fall to evil, the basic idea was that someone, maybe another pitfiend, tricked her into falling to evil, maybe showing her a situation in wich she lost hope and love for everything, but i cant come up with said situation
tl;dr - what reasons could an agel have to swich alignments to lawful evil?

But then everything started to go wrong again not because some BBEG but because people are people. The angel had enough of it and tried to fix it again, and again but each time with more direct actions until it became a tyrant

this is another option i was thinking about, she started to sympathize with the lawful evil philosophy and choosed to fell
but the thing is, that there are 2 girls on the table, and well, you know, they like love stories and happy endings (the others dont mind this), so i wanted them to be able to help/redeem the angel back into heaven when they finally face her
she was sort of an "angel of love" entity when they befriended her in the previous setting, thats why i was thinking about someone tricking her into hate, you know, feeding/rejoicing on her disappointment towards the same love she used to represent/defend

We need to update and upgrade our memes.
/tg/'s been in a down slope in the meme department, with anything made in the last five or so years being garbage. It seems like the problem is that only the worst people on /tg/ even care about memes, and that's why our memes either suck, or we get people trying to import bad memes from other boards and even other sites.
It's largely thanks to the post-Nazimod stance against board culture, but it's been years since then, and we should enjoy a more relaxed approached towards board culture and be more keen to discuss it, complete with calling things shit when they're bad but making sure to let some of our diamonds shine through.
I don't expect anything good to come immediately, especially because there's even some trolls attached to /tg/ who genuinely hate board culture and try to shit on anything like they're possessed by the enduring spirit of Nazimod.. But, it's a problem that needs to be talked about, because unless we address this issue, we're just going to keep having awful memes until this board becomes a mix of sterile discussion and memes filtered through /pol/, tumblr, and reddit.
