Thoughts on this? Does it work for skirmish-level and below?
Looking for a sort of "RPG-lite" wargame for me and my gf where we can make a party of adventurers each and go at it. A cooperative mode would also be great.
>>54554740
It was intended for skirmish to large scale war. Some adventures expect you to use it for good huge chunks of the game. I couldn't say how the rules go because fuck if I can find a good copy of it, and I've never played it at all.
>>54554943
I found a good PDF of it but unfortunately the filesize is much too large to post here. You can easily find it through Google, however. That's how I found it.
>>54554977
Guess I'll have to incorporate it into my games when/if they get to larger scale combat. Birthright has a large scale and skirmish combat rules, but I'm not a big fan. They're a bit oversimplified.

The content OPs produce is called faglets. Their purpose is annoying.

It sucks
What's up, /tg/?
So, I've been lurking a lot recently and there seem to be lots of threads about magical realming. Opinion seems to be negative about it, but I can't quite figure out what exactly it is.
What the fuck is magical realming, why is it bad, and how do I avoid it if at all possible?
Oh fuck, forgot to mention that I'd also love to hear any entertaining/interesting stories and anecdotes, as well.
>>54552146
>why is it bad
It's not bad if all people at the table agree on this.
It's bad if one person uses this social gathering for his own pleasure which isn't pleasurable (and desirable) for other people next to him.
The problem is being a dick, not fantasizing about weird stuff.
>>54552188
But what -is- it?
At what point should a D&D/PF character be considered "stupid"?
INT 10? 8? 6?
WIS 10? 8? 6?
Should both be low? Or can one act sensibly if at least one is high?

I'll be honest. I'm not even mad. I'm genuinely impressed at and intrigued by that little girl's ability to count to potato.

An even more unspeakable form than those.

I like my cosmic horrors to be a malignant presence, a devestating reality-evil. This is one of the reasons why I think Colour Out Of Spcae is Lovecraft's best story.

First one. I don't like it when they're made to look cool, much freakier if it's just bizarre.

Thread Question:
What's the most fun commander deck you've played or had?
>>54550621
>thread question
Most fun I have had lately with is Ayli cleric tribal, although it might not be the most interesting deck I have. I have fun with my Ghave combo as well, but as for the most "fun" deck I have, is probably Hanna, although it's anti-fun for my opponents. It runs few jank interactions, such as Enchanted Evening, Aura Thief and Auratog, which also combos nicely with Stasis and somewhat with other such things like pic related.

decide on my next deck. my current decks get a bit too many complaints for being too rude with the turn 2 terastodons and turn 3 infect kills, so this deck has got to be a little more controlly

I want to play a sexy medusa
>>54550026
What's the point of playing a sexy medusa if no-one can look at you?
Simple enough. The major kingdom of the setting has finally decided enough is enough and they're going full genocide on all the monsters in the land. You play as a rag tag group of beasties forced to work together to survive, trying to unite all the big monster groups in order to fight back against the kingdom, or at the very least find a way to stop the monster hunt.
Evil Monster Party: Your dark lord sent you to find a macguffin for him.
Good Monster Party: Slavers took your friends/Family hostage and your pursue them.
Fairytale Monster Party: Your masters don't need you anymore so you set out to start a band.
how about we just use race as class?
because the playable race that is explicitly better at magic than others should be the only ones to make decent mages balancing-wise
>>54549708
Did you really need to make an extra thread for that? It is common for elves to run around with extra DEX, less common with extra INT.
>using race as class
But that makes no fucking sense and hasn't for years anon
Aren't race-locked subclasses enough for you? Elven bladesingers, dwarven battleragers, orc rapists, etc.

How does one fix the Purple Dragon Knight? I like the idea it's going for as a Warlord style fighter, but it's so damn weak.
I feel like they just need an interesting level 3 ability to solve the issue.
How do you quit GMing, especially when planning for your group is nothing but misery?
For those interested in the details, I'm running a thievery/crime campaign with my friends, and it's just not working. One plays a loudmouthed fighter who doesn't want to be subtle at all, and whenever his gf is confused about the rules, immediately butts in when I'm explaining to explain stuff to her in the most obtuse way possible. His gf is a little better with RP, but is still struggling with the idea that she can't just write stuff in her backstory and immediately have it (she wanted to own a shop filled with healing potions and elixirs) and put her boyfriend in a chokehold because she thought physical contact is okay in rp. Her friend plays a prostitute that is absolute shit at. Her role (ex. The group needed a package from a guy, so she stalked him until he was 2 seconds from headed out of the city on a boat and was like 'I roll to seduce him, expecting it to work) and the last guy is okay, but insists that his character's weapons are a gift from death himself.
Every session is a nightmare for me, and as much as I want to have fun, I'm spending 10 hours per week into planning for the game with no enjoyment to show for it.
>>54549293
Quietly flip the table, stand up and quit.

'Hey guys I'm not really having fun gming anymore, I want to try some new things. Sorry.'

Break the group up by sleeping with the dude's girlfriend AND the dude playing the whore then 'accidentally' have that come to light in a coming session.
you ever tried playing a CUTE character?
when was the last time in general you tried out a completely new kind of character?

Mostly because I would have to take steps like >>54549272 for my friends to even attempt to remember my character is supposed to be "cute" and not incredibly annoying (thought it would still probably qualify)
