Last time we had oen these threads, it was great. But I say we can improve it a little. Besides using the mutant creation chart from 40k 1st edition aka Rogue Trader we will also roll a d10 to see what type of creature that is mutated and brought into the mutant gangs fold
>d10
1-6: Human
7-8: Beast (can be a Grox, Dusk Stalker, horse, etc)
9: Xeno (Can be an Eldar, Tau, Hrud, etc)
10: Chaos Spawn (Get 4 extra rolls on the mutant table)
We will start with 5 members, after we have determined what the member is, then we roll a d3, that's how many times we roll on the Mutant generator table.
So, roll a d10 to see what the first member is!

So /tg/, I'm preparing to run a D&D campaign that takes place on a jungle continent that has three major civilizations; a drow Aztec-inspired civilization, a human Australian/aboriginal-inspired civilization, and then a lizardfolk India-inspired civilization. I need some help.
While I'm finding plenty of info on Aztec stuff, and the Australian/Aboriginal stuff isn't too foreign to me, the Indian side of it is proving to be challenging, simply because there is so much mythology and cultural practices that seem too much to handle.
Do any of you have experience running campaigns in an India-inspired world? Any part of historic Hindu culture that would make for interesting stories? I've already included that reincarnation is a huge part of lizardfolk culture, and they are divided into four classes (with a fifth class of untouchables on the fringes), but I want to know if there's more out there.
If it helps at all, I'm not even trying to work in the Hindu gods, and am just sticking with the Aztec gods for the lizardfolk too.

If we follow the yugi-oh template, the main character and rival should have dark and light themed factions respectively, with a duality to them (see dark magician /blue eyes white dragon). However, he protagonist also needs themes ofor compassion and friendship, while the rival needs ruthlessness.
Since they're going to be the poster boys, they both need posterboy armies, ie space marines.
For protagonist, I would recommend Salamanders or lamenters, as both have strong compassionate overtones, with fire and darkness and a cursed destiny respectively to fit the dark theme.
The rival should probably play either marines malevolent (need I say more?) or minotaurs, for that anti-space marine edge to give the protagonist the underdog vote.
