After the Mending, creatures can't be taken off of their home planes.

However, the whole Kaladesh block was about Tezzeret discovering a form of portal technology that can transport matter between places, potentially between planes. He's stolen this technology from its inventor and will eventually be able to make gateways between planes.

I'm a bit new to MTG, so forgive me if I'm mistaken, but aren't Elder Dragons the most powerful beings in the multiverse? And aren't planeswalkers without question examples of the most powerful members of their respective species? To top this off Bolas's spark ignited back when planeswalkers were essentially a consciousness given form through mana with almost unlimited access to mana.

To call Bolas a god is an understatement. Oketra and Hazoret are gods, Mogis and Atheros are gods, Bolas is a member of a race so ancient and powerful that they could move through the multiverse and shape planes of existence without being planeswalkers. The average member of Bolas's race was able to do things that were considered near the limits for planeswalkers. Bolas is a being who has likely tasted infinite power and will stop at nothing to obtain that power once again.

The entire point of Bolas in my opinion is that there will always be some threat to the multiverse. You cannot defeat Bolas, you can oppose him, you can disrupt his plans, but you cannot defeat him. You just have to hope that vigilance is enough.

Keep her childish but less dumb, headstrong and confident but less rash and reckless. Serialized TV has small changes to character across years that allow people to pick up the show and immediately understand a characters archetype while giving nods and payoff to the watchers that remember two years ago.

I'm really happy with how they split the Gatewatch. After being forced to shove Kaladesh in front of Bolas so Hasbro could use him to pad the new fiscal year's numbers, it's been solely overdue. Still sad that we're not gonna get the original idea of separate teams for a while, but hopefully we can get some proper development of each walker during the downtime.

Look, when the story is written from Bolas' perspective it's only natural that we'd get to see what he thinks about the Gatewatch, and of course he's gonna think of them as undeserving. He's Nicol Bolas. To him, everyone who isn't him is undeserving.
