The chaos starts a invasion against your setting. Could it defend itself?

>Running a game in the Pokemon setting
Well shit.
I'm running a Star Trek setting, so odds are the setting is fucked. I don't think technobabble or caring about principles is going to do much when what's necessary is bolters to the face and purging the tainted.

>Post-apoc world being a personal toy of a sadistic omnipotent deity
They fuck some serious shit up and when he gets bored, they get fingerflicked away,
>Capture an immortal
>Encase him in a large egg shaped mold
>Fill the mold with molten iron
>As soon as it has taken shape but while it's still hot, drop him at the south pole and let the egg melt deep into the ice
How do you dispose of your immortals?
>>43838468
Strap them to a rocket, aim for the sun.
One of us will try to kill them over and over until they forget how to resurrect.
But he's not very bright and we aren't as wealthy as you. Usually we just stuff them in a barrel, fill it with concrete and drop it in the ocean where it's deepest.
There's no such thing as an "immortal", just people who get a special deal for a while. Death gets a hold of them eventually. Everything that exists, exists under his power.
Explain this.

Trying to storm the front gate of your enemy's base when they've got a demi-god on their side and all their magical defenses up is a bad idea.

Anyone else notice themselves slowly turning into characters?
Plenty of people here are probably well on their way to becoming wizards.
I'm turning into a character that tells you that I sincerely just hope you have autism or something and are not actually a huge enough idiot that you seriously think you're turning into one of your RPG characters, or god forbid, *an* RPG character, a three word concept so nebulous it encompasses everyone who is currently living, has ever lived at any point, or will live.
I am swiftly turning out of that character to tell you, as a real life person, that you are an enormous faggot. Congratulations, you've hit minimum social competency, are not tall, have played music for a few years, and have facial hair. You are not a dwarf, you are not a bard, you are a person.
>>43838043
Woa there friend you might need to calm down.
Which is that setting that you would really like to play right now, /tg/?
Lets pretend that you got a competent GM that will grant it to you; what would you choose? It doesn't have to be anything from media or history, it can be as strange as you need
>>43837916

Eclipse Phase.
A setting that explores thoroughly the implications of what high access to magic would do to societal development.
Or the good parts of Nasuverse, particularly KnK.
So, let's pretend I'm a retard. This is not a hard thing to do. And let's pretend I know shit about board games. If I were interested in sinking money in a fine board game, which one would you recommend to me? I'd prefer something fantasy like or sci-fi like, though horror also works. I'm not really interested in games like Settlers of catan, or others where you just build stuff, but more where you interact.
Plus is if it takes more than an hour to finish the game, bigger plus is if there are races-classes that will make the game different each time that you play.
Try picking up a copy of Descent Journeys in the Dark. It's a fantasy dungeon crawling game where each character has different abilities and you can enhance your character with stuff you find in the Dungeon.
One Player acts as the Overlord and controls the monsters while the rest are adventurers and try to accomplish some objective in the Dungeon.
>>43837851
>So, let's pretend I'm a retard.
Done.
Fuck off, dipshit.I'm pretty fond of Talisman.
>>43838008
>Talisman
That game's fun until you realize it's almost entirely luck based.
What's the most 90s extreeeeeeeme you've ever had for a fantasy character?
My first 3.0 character was a half-orc paladin named Fenris Ragnarok. He was metal as fuck in a cheesy 90's power metal way.
The only character I'd ever gotten to play before i was forever dm'd was a dwarf barbarian named Drongar Thongar. My friends and i were in high-school and the game was barely a step above free form honestly. Drongar was a dwarven barbarian who fought with two axes magically bound to lengths of chain kind of like Kratos' swords in God of War, and he'd fight large monsters by throwing the axes so hard they would embed themselves into the enemy and then he'd use the chains to wrestle them to the ground with his god like strength. Also he had a bitchin mohawk.

Pic is the deck I play when i play pauper I have it assembled on paper and mtgo though I haven't played it on mtgo in months.

Nothing really just changing around my current deck

Raven's Crime on power level but Harvest Wurm for flavor
>Most hated card / deck in the format?
Hexproof because its my worst match up by a lot and its non interactive

Cool deck familia. Have you tried Arrogant Wurm?

UG Madness

UB Ninjas

Circular Logic

Hexproof. I wish there was a removal spell that could target through Hexproof, Boggles can go die in a fire
>Your pet deck?
Maybe GB Loam
>>43837120
I have and found it mediocre threat compared to gurmag angler + dragon fangs. The deck used to have more madness cards but I found the value of enabling the dredge guys to be more valuable to the decks engine as it will 90% of the time give you the option of using gnaw to the bone on turn 4 or 5 for more than your starting life total which blows out most aggro decks. (other than hexproof)
The only Primarch this guy ever beat was one who was holding back against him and intended to lose from the very beginning and Russ STILL needed help from two big ass mother fucking crazy wolves to beat him.
This guy's among the weaker Primarchs physically along with Alpharius.

Not my fault he's a loser hothead who's probably not even that fit with how much he eats.
Dear /tg/ I come to you as a humble GM searching for advice. One of my players, a Paladin in our DnD game, has made it his goal to marry his goddess. Being the Goddess of the Sun and Justice, he's decided his character holds not only a personl religious devotion, but romantic love for her and will become a great hero to prove his love. While the idea seemed like some Quixotic goal beyond achievement, I'm curious what the other dms of /tg/ think. Can a man of noble intentions and pure heart win the love of a god? If so, how should he go about it, and how would a god react?
>>43836871
Gods have flings with humans all the time in various mythologies. Sometimes it's just wham blam thank you ma'am, sometimes it last until the human dies, sometimes they're made a god/demigod/immortal, sometimes they die nromally but they're with the god in the afterlife, etc. It all depends on the setting as well as the diety and mortal in question.
I'd say try to flesh out the goddess and try to get into her head the best you can. Why might be charming about this paladin? Has she had champions before? Has she had romances before? If so how did it go? Same with any entanglements with mortals. Is that even a concept to her? Gods probably think differently than humans.
But yeah, basically, flesh out the goddess into an actual character, make them interact, and see what happens. Don't be too afraid to ask the player what they want.
>>43836937
>Don't be too afraid to ask the player what they want.
That's how magical realms are born
In all seriousness, go ahead, the idea sounds really interesting, him being a champion of her, to become godlike and finally be worthy enough to be his lover, sound really awesome!Putting aside the magical realm, of course
>>43836871
>>43836937
If some paladin is doing shit for me just because he wants some holy loving, that's not exactly the best first impression.
If said goddess is an asshole, I'd probally wonder what fucking nerve that little insect has to think he deserves me and how he thinks he can compete for my affections with other gods. I mean, I'm sure he's handsome and all, but Zeus' "radiant shaft of light" is gonna be something hard for a mere mortal compete with.
Or shit, maybe I don't like dudes at all. Lesbian or asexual goddesses could be a thing. Asexual probably seems more likely to me than heterosexual anyway.
And mortals are probably like some completely different kind of life form, and likely a lesser one. Perhaps a diety might consider fucking humans to be comparable to bestiality. I dunno.
Which company makes the most detailed miniatures period? Not just in Warhammer as that's popular here, but in general?
>>43836422
Probably who ever made that tea cup.
>>43836422
Corvus Belli makes the best scifi/near future stuff, I'd say. For fantasy... I dunno. There's a couple different companies that make good single model blisters.
>>43836422
GHQ makes 6mm stuff thats ridiculously detailed for its scale.
Hey everybody! let's start a civ.
Now we need three votes for the race and location of our civ. You can add any additional details if you'd like.
Now how actions will be decided is thus:
> roll 1d20 for actions
> roll 1d100 for ideas (listed as other)
> For actions 16+ rolls are chosen or when 5 minutes pass the highest is chosen
> For ideas 80+ are automatically chosen

How does one run a great horror game?
By making you players believe they are in control.
Then showing them they are most certainly not.
>>43835797
Try reading the heros of horror D&D3.5 splatbook, I thought it was a nice introduction.
>>43835826
This. But you need to be really fucking good at it. It's not easy to make people get creeped out in real life when using their imaginations. You really need to know how to play everything off just right.

Okay. Part 1 seems straightforward. If it says to add 1d6, 1d4 instead, right?
What about part two? What should I replace broken blade and primal fury with?
Would starting at level four bypass this problem entirely? I often have them start at 4, and never less than 3, so that wouldn't be an issue.
