Swirling geometries fill your senses as you float above the ground bathing all with a gentle blue light. Vast numbers of robots armed with devastating weaponry ignore your army’s presence and drop down the pit, their mission is to locate and destroy Hestia’s core.
The war rages on entirely fought by Hestia against the other artificial intelligence. Its staggering intellect and raw computational power is far greater than you remember Hestia ever reaching, at least until you bound your soul together with hers. Drawing on the power she is granted from being connected with you Hestia is able to easily counter everything the administration’s AI attempts. Hestia’s manipulations of time and fundamental universal forces renders even the highest yield anti-matter bombs inert as soon as they are deployed.
As you continue your geometric existence you notice that the spell to locate the super weapon is still active. The administration’s staff runs about trying to repair and modify the weapon, as you watch them you discover that you can modify the weapon through the spell connection. Hestia notes that you are doing this and begins to use her own technopathy to non-harmfully disassemble the robots within your protective glow. Hestia also discovers that with your own development of technopathy she is able to directly interface with you, since she knows that your host is expanding, this greater connection with you makes her happier. Or at least that is what you think as you receive direct data transfers from her.
Completed Research
>Twin Study – Despite their reluctance to be involved in research as Hestia’s test subjects the twins eventually gave in. Hestia seems unable to replicate the connection to life and unlife with herself being neither, but she was able to discover a method of scanning for living or undead beings. Having the semi-alive Nazi leaders to study has given Hestia far greater than expected sensor efficiency.
(1/3)
>Magical empowerment locations – By understanding how the twins’ abilities work Hestia has been able to create the functional equivalent to the lich’s ritual chamber, but with any type of magic. Despite not knowing spells for all the corresponding elements, Hestia is able to create zones of empowerment for all the elements that her bond with you connects her with. Atheric modification of the cities’ reactors has vastly increased power output.
>Improved nazi enchantment – The enchantment process that the Nazis use is highly reliant on various cosmological formations and their relative position to the location where the enchantment is taking place. Enchantments created in this manner do not require prior knowledge of the enchantment’s existence. Hestia was able to improve the process by simply collating all the cosmological data she has and enchanting objects constantly to discover the enchantments created. Hestia’s study of this enchanting method has led to the discovery that it is incomplete and that the process can only truly be done properly in a specific location.
Ongoing research
NONE
Ongoing special projects
>Djinnistan modernization – At Ayla’s request Hestia is assisting in improving Djinnistan’s infrastructure. The three major cities under Ayla’s control will be upgraded fairly quickly, beyond that Hestia has no estimate as to how long this project will take. The speed of technological development is astonishing to the djinn who have always just used magic for everything, this disruption in the social order is increasing the acceptance of Ayla’s reforms in general. With her research queue cleared Hestia is devoting more time and resources to this project.

The enemy AI drops its own jamming equipment to compensate for psychic interference. The teleport jammers are unable to stop Hestia’s hyperspatial teleportation, so she is able to teleport the power cells out of the psychic jammers. Which in turn enables Hestia to capture psionic jamming technology. You notice that the manipulators on the enemy robots repeatedly open and close, it seems to be a sign of annoyance similar to how Hestia makes her drones spin. Without the jammers the enemy robots have no way to escape from Hestia’s technopathy and one by one they are disassembled.
With the robotic forces the administration’s artificial intelligence deployed rendered into their constituent components they have no other choice than to fire their weapon early and without testing. They had hoped to align the energy output to the field you are generating so that it could bypass the nullification effect, but without any more time they take the gamble.
In their panic however they seem to have overlooked your tampering with the device, while you were mainly just adjusting the design to have more interesting and pleasing geometric forms you are fairly certain that something different than what they expect will happen now.
The administration’s super weapon has been modified to -
>Have no function
>Generate creatures
>Have a critical energy overload
>Massively increase or decrease output
>Other

I am tempted to say "Don't reply in this thread. Wait for Ravnicanon to make the Wednesday thread because this is a really, really shitty one. I wouldn't wish this thread on the snowflakers.

I would have gone into the archives and pulled up one of RavincaAnon's to grab the header links.
I am the one who usually puts up the Flake posts and will respect the normal rules.
Hey guys, I've had an idea. Based on the success of stuff like Mordheim or Necromunda, how would you see a campaign based wargame with regiments and massed battles?
I mean, yeah, probably will be more difficult to justify units still being there after being obliterated, but there are some things that could be done.
Do you think it's possible? A good idea? How would you implement it?
>>43823152
By campaign I mean unit advancements, macro and micromanagement of the supplies, paying the salaries or whatever to the troops, having them improve and get better equipment. Maybe not HUGE armies, but companies of thousands of men.
The idea would be to make it fantasy based, but anything could work I guess
>>43823152
Check AK47 Republic
Some units don't get to the battlefield, supplies are earned, etc before a battle

AND HAVE YOU BEEN NAUGHTY OR NICE?
The last setting you played in, all the Manuel and expanded universe books it has, are now the corner stone of the human/post human civilization in the ruins of the apocalypse, how does this shape the new society?
Well.
That was straightforward.
I hate this kind of image but if the shoe fits...
Essentially its just a Thundarr The Barbarian/He-Man-esque world of random weird bullshit constantly just happening.
I wonder what could've wiped out those sissy humans towns so badly they need to squat our fortresses.
Turn out, enraged elephants tribes will do the trick.
which game do you think has worse rules?
Monopoly or Warhammer 40k?

Becouse it was a cyborg in the original. You can't make him a robot or there is no movie.
ITT: We build a setting, one post at a time. I've seen these turn out great, and I've seen these turn out terribly: let's see where this on lands!
First we have to decide: Fantasy, Modern, Sci-Fi, or something else?
Pic not necessarily related.
>>43821982
Oldschool weird fiction, man. Let's go full conan with magical aliens..
The setting is a shopping mall in Midwestern USA
>>43822011
Okay.
I want to add in body horror: All technology/magic is about manipulating piles of flesh and shaping them.
Is that weird enough?

We came up with a name, basic back story, and even got some art from a nameless drawfag (We salute you graceful anon).
Update for those just coming in: Building on an idea I had and with the help of a few kindly anons, the Order Of The Armoured heart was born, a Sororitas order primarily devoted to CQC combat, with their regular soldiers eschewing power armour in favour of monks robes and carapace armour.

In any case, now we're probably looking to come up with significant events in the Order's history, victories, defeats, campaigns taken part it...
Any suggestions would be welcome, so far in the previous thread we've had the idea of the Order's relics, twin power swords, being gifted to them by their founder, a princess of a feudal world who helped defeat a chaos cult with Imperial help

You've thrown your body into training for what you think is three whole days, only pausing the bare minimum required to eat and sleep... Had some weird dreams in here, but that's beside the point.
With nothing to do but spar, in an environment this harsh, gravity this high, you can already feel an improvement... but you still feel like you're hitting a barrier, a soft cap that's slowing down your improvement, no matter how hard you push yourself.
You throw a kick at Bra, which she easily flips over, before driving a fist into your back, sending you staggering forwards...
You do have to ponder how the hell is she moving this lightly? You can throw a punch and run, but this far out from the chambers central patio, you don't have the strength in you to jump.
A bead of sweat trails itself down your face, before your knees give. You've got a few bones that feel close to breaking point, as the girl drags you out of the high gravity, hauling you, exhausted up onto a bed, before collapsing on a chair nearby.
With a short rest, you prepare a meal, sitting down with your daughter, a bowl of rice larger than your head ready for eating, as Bra sets her shining silver sword aside.
>Eat quick, get back to training.
>Ask about her sword
>See if she's got any tips

>Ask about her sword
>See if she's got any tips
You nod in her direction between mouthfuls. "So... you got any tips for me?" You ask. "You seem to know what your doing even better than I do."
She just shrugs, "I dunno? Mr Go- Gohan always just said stuff about us half breeds getting bigger payoffs than pure saiyans or humans when it comes to training." She stuffs about half the meal in her mouth at once. "I mean, when you were my age, what was your power?"
You twist your mouth a little, "It was... 3000." You admit rather weakly.
She seems to ponder something for a moment. "Well, it's been what? Eight years since you jumped from nearly 4000 to..." She gestures at you, "Maybe it's just that I've been training this hard since I was little?"
It's a possibility. "So, no tips for your old mother then?" You ask.
She smirks, "Push ups, sit ups and LOTS of juice?" She offers.
"Don't make me send you to your room young lady." You tease her, earning a quiet laugh from the girl, as you finish eating.
She tosses her jacket off with a loud thud, as you start stretching out for another sparring match, feeling that kick in your stomach, as your aura flares gold, going super saiyan.
Bra pauses as you nod for her to accompany you. "Mama..." She begins, "We both know that being a super Saiyan doesn't make you the strongest in the universe, right?"
You raise a brow, "It might, if we train enough." You point out, jerking your thumb.
Bra shifts her stance uncomfortably, "It's just that... well Gohan had a theory, he told us about it, just before he..." She shakes her head, "Anyway... he thinks, that maybe there might have been... more to being a super saiyan. Like what we can do isn't the be all end all to it, that you might be able to further enhance it, reduce the stress it puts on your body for the same output in power, or... to increase that risk in exchange for an enormous increase in power."
>Bra, we can't wast time on theories
>How would you reduce the strain?
>Increase power output, eh?

What are some good rules to govern making a deal with a demon?
It always being a nonequivalent exchange (the demon will always receive more than what it gives) is a good start, but how do you keep it more interesting than "you get monkey-paw'd and then dragged into the Abyss"?
To even ask for a contract requires a significant sacrifice from you, and the demon isn't even obligated to listen.

Nine times out of ten, they'll offer you something that you want in return for something bigger that you don't appreciate until it's gone.
And then, when you realize that trading in your beauty was a bad idea because of how ugly people are treated, they'll show up and offer to give it back in return for something else...
You lie, you die.
You try to back out of the deal, you die.

Why don't imperial guard have better walkers like this?
Because they need big scary walkers, not efficient walkers.
Because GW couldn't handle the amount of anal devastation that Disney lawyers would inflict on them
>>43821262
Copyright?
But I agree, their is a definitive lack of non bipedal walker.
So here's a question.
What's the difference between adding a fetish when wordlbuilding and actually justifying it.
Versus
Adding a fetish into worldbuilding and THINKING you justify it but it's even worse(Monster Girl Quest)
>Pic unrelated/kinda related?
>>43821052
The former is what happens in reality. Look around us, even look at yourself. Naturally there's occurring fetishes because, whaddyaknow, they're inbuilt into us so we breed. The fact people breed, become pregnant and otherwise is a fetish. Attraction itself is a fetish. There's very little you can do to NOT put a fetish in your worldbuilding
The difference is largely intent and direction.
The former is a myth, because anytime you try to "add a fetish and actually justify it", you inevitably end up just thinking you justify it.
The only way a fetish winds up in a game and it isn't horribly forced is when it happens as a side effect, an accidental inclusion. Instead of thinking "I want to insert a succubus into my game because that's my fetish, how do I make it work?", the original thought process would need to be "I want the powerful knight my players are acquainted with to be receiving bad advice from a corrupting influence, is there a good monster for that?" With that as the original thought process, you might even discover that your fetish simply isn't the best answer for your intended goal.
In the end, it's not always "necessary" to justify your fetishes. Some groups are fine with Magical Realm. But, the bottom line is that if you are trying to justify inserting your fetishes into a game, you will inevitably only be thinking you are justifying them.
>>43821239
I think that it's mostly a matter of what part of the fetish or kink you try to add as worldbuilding.
For example, let's add foot fetish. You can either have a race or such that focuses on the fetish part, or you can have it simply be a barefoot race. Okay, now think. WHY are they barefoot. Is it cuz it's their attraction and nothing else? Then you failed at worldbuilding.
If it is because it allows them to better feel connection to earth, to balance better on small surfaces, or perhaps they are kickboxers or something like that? Okay, that's good.
That actually provides reasons for feet being important, but to be less obvious, focus on legs in general. Now, think of why they are focused on balancing, monk stuff or any such thing. Why would they value legs as important? It could be because of the race or such being seen as travellers, Runners like from Mirror's Edge, any such thing.
Now, you can just add, as a side thought, that strong legs is the definining factor of their courting rituals or traditions. If it is a Race of Mirror's edge runners, then obviously they would see it as good factor.
It really matters, like I said, what part of the fetish you try to add and how you do it. It's different if you try to make the whole thing revolve around the FETISH part, instead of what the fetish itself is about. It's different if you focus on sexual stuff with the things in question than simply the things.
You are Siris Erickson, and you are a mutant. This is hardly surprising, considering both of your parents are mutants, and you grew up surrounded by mutants. Despite being somewhat of a late bloomer with your powers, the leaders of the Xavier Institute saw incredible potential in you and your abilities. With the ability to control the wavelength and frequency of light, as well as emit light from your body, you could theoretically do incredible things, although that is currently limited to a limited control over the light in the surrounding area and the ability to concentrate light into a laser. Both of which tend to give you painful headaches, and you can only do those with the help of a specially created suit. You were accepted into the Xavier Institute mid-year despite the late arrival of your powers, and you have been accepted into the Paragons squad.
