Only a lil' bit.
Uh... she's totally not a Slaaneshi cultist, I swear...
FUCK YOU I WON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL ME
When was your character last filled with DETERMINATION?
As for me, my paladin was last like this against a dragon turtle we fought. Took a steam breath to the face and kept screaming justice.
In the game I GM, the party was riding across a desert with some gnolls. The gnoll leader had an artificer companion that went nuts and forced the gnoll leader to kill the party's previous caravan members, most notably with stabbing their kindly old gandalf-style wizard leader. Everyone was kind of sad when he died, since he would shoot the shit and do magical drugs with them. worst off was the druid, he was a minotaur that only the wizard would talk magic with and didn't judge by appearance. After the artificer fucked off to do plot things, they had no choice but to travel with the gnolls, who wanted to help them find that drone building fucker.
Unfortunately, they kept the wizard's body their covered wagon. When he was stabbed, he was implanted with a infiltration robot that replaces the body just under the skin. They knew something was up with his actions, but had to act like they were fooled because they didn't know what it was capable of. As things went on, the ranger figures out the terminator-thing hybrid is being remote controlled by the artificer. Things get out of hand, and the gnoll leader tries surprise attacking it. She almost cuts its head off, and the guise fell pretty quickly after that.

Determination is for people whose sense of self-worth is so low that they'll jump on a sword for some strangers they met in a bar half an hour ago.
Let the meatshields boast about their heroics, I'm fine with just getting paid.

Alcohol and/or drugs at the gaming table.
Yay or nay?
I dislike smoke mostly as it disturbs those around you. A lot of alcohol can be bad, but a little is fine.
Alcohol, sure... it actually makes one of my players bitch less.
Drugs... yeah, no.
Nay.
How would you do a black friday campaign?
Do it in Savage Worlds and run it like zombie shit, you have to kill as many Black Friday shoppers as possible. The Fast Furious Fun and Toughness mechanics of Savage Worlds would make it an ideal option for slaughtering hundreds of shoppers.
Imagine blowing a gaggle of teenage girls apart with a panzerfaust, reducing them to atomized blood and burnt splinters of bone, then pulling out dual AK-47s and mowing down all the soccer dads and Nascar moms that rush out at 6am to save a precious fucking 15% off.
I think that'd be an incredibly fun campaign, and you'd get to use a lot of the "toys" in the Savage Worlds book.
It'd probably only be good for a one shot, though.

Everyone Is John, set at a mall.

The Wal.
The inhabitants of the mega-mall have long since forgotten what Black Friday once meant, but now, it is a period of terror. Stocker bots roam the aisles, tearing asunder hasty barricades and crushing fleeing unregistered shoppers under their heavy tread. The cult of the smiling one demands sacrifice, as eternally grinning cultists kidnap virgins to ritually disembowel and scan at the checkout. And, in the midst of all of this, the massive reduction in prices means that if you can find one of the rare few intact pieces pre-apocalypse currencies remaining, you might just be able to finally leave the Wal, and gaze upon The Parking Lot.
Does your characters or bosses have theme songs?

> having a theme song for your character
Possibly the most cringeworthy special snowflake shit ever, unless you wrote it yourself and its actually good.
Sick of some faggot playing an anime song on his smart phone going "this song is so me ^_^"
Reminds me why I shouldn't let these kinds of idiots into my games.
>>43847555
Virt! Buddy! When did you get back?
>>43847415
Isn't "Ride of the Valkyries" the all time theme song for every character in Only War?
I'm bored, you're bored, lets do this.

Ill do Orcs; only if we can be red and our leader's name is Chum'gunk!
How's All Flesh Must Be Eaten as a system? Does it have any glaring mechanical issues?
There isn't any room for stat + skill in the d10 number range, the exploding dice mechanic is fucked up and weird, the margins of success are also vaguely retarded, and the core mechanic is in general shit.
A .38 revolver takes like 3 shots to kill a nerdy college kid. Not okay for gritty horror.
Everything has too many fucking life points.
The stats are lame and the vehicle rules are crappy.
Overall, it's reminiscent of the shitty 80s-era RIFTS rpgs from Kevin Simbieda or however you pronounce that weird Italian name.
So overall, not very good. Savage Worlds is probably a lot better for zombies.

Someone who isn't this guy: is this accurate?

Yes.
Excuse me, Brother-Captain, but how do the Ultramarines have an omega symbol? Symbols change over time. That's a simple fact. Yet theirs has remained since the time of Ancient Greece, which was some 41 thousand years ago.
The Emperor knew the Greek alphabet and assigned it to the Ultramarines before Guilliman was found.
Just when everyone thought you'd finally grown up, you're back to spamming these threads.
Because if you are fighting them, that's the last thing you'll ever see.
This is a thread to post either original or historical quotes for characters to be able to use in game and help establish their personality.
I myself am looking for quotes that would fit an old, grizzled veteran soldier (medieval).
What are you guys looking for?
Bump the 2nd.

"It's 'Tommy this' and 'Tommy that' and 'Tommy, how's your soul?'
But it's the thin red line of valor when the drums begin to roll."
"I've served in Britain forty years. What should I do in Rome?"
Basically, anything Kipling will do.

Always be wary of an old man in a profession where men die young.
LCG thread: Act 3
Discuss anything about your favorite LCG's, news doubts whatever is fine for you.
The same as always Doomtown and Ashes are more than welcome.
I think mage wars should be added.
>>43847170
You know that is something that intrigues me. I mean what are the limits of the term LCG? what makes them one and what not?
>>43846816
We need to add L5R into that picture, it's probably second best of the lot.
Fuck it, starting a thread for this in the hopes that you guys could help an uncreative hack like myself out. About to run a fantasy quest where the players have to decide which of two warring races to support in defeating the other and was wondering exactly what to make the two be. Was initially going to go with angels and demons, which despite barely being a step up in originality from elves and the like, definitely creates some bias when they're supposed to be morally equal and the choice comes down to personal views and preference. Thanks in advance for any ideas.
Make it one kind of fantasy not!Slavs vs another kind of fantasy not!Slavs.

You are Solomon, a Ceph independent captain of the good ship Hot Needle of Inquiry. Along with your trusty Felinid pilot Deg and new engineer Mara, you strike out in search of relics in the northern Spin Ends.

"Welcome back, user Solomon," comes the familiar, canned voice of the captain's terminal.
'God damn, I really need a better password," grumbles across your thoughts as you reflexively start up the long-range radio application. You gently push off the computer desk, floating into the centre of the room like a shrimp dumpling in a bowl of Cetacean soup.
"What is your desired listening material tonight, user Solomon?"
You ponder the question as you give your compressed muscles a much needed stretch, sinuous tentacles writhing through the humid and weightless air, painted by the shifting and subdued lighting.
"Hrm, how about some..."
>Felinid rave pop? (+1 Dexterity)
>Ceph electro jazz? (+1 Constitution)
>Cetacean soundscape? (+1 Charisma)
>Corvid techno? (+1 Intelligence)
>Canid power rock? (+1 Strength)
you reply somewhat absently.
"Selection registered, scanning now."
Tentacles anchored to the wall, you find yourself drifting towards your gear locker. Maybe that last scuffle on Constantinople was one too many in recent weeks, but you want to be certain your trusty weapon is ready for whatever lies in wait at the Cetacean mining operation. Leads like this on rarely go unnoticed for long...
The door clicks open, and you let out the sigh you didn't know you were holding; it's still there, though you're not sure why it wouldn't be. You reach a tentacle inside and delicately withdraw your trusty...

What game system has really cool (not necessarily powerful or well-balanced) fighting styles? Aside from 3e shit and 4e core, I mean.
>>43846261
>mongoloidal target audience
I played it once at Gencon, it was okay.
>>43846027
Fantasy Craft may have what you want. Martials have a lot of varying options, all very well balanced, powerful, and cool.
Take Fencing, for instance. With the complete fencing tree you can go into total defense, then if someone steps into your square you can auto-hit them. If they miss, which they likely will when you're in total defense, you can draw them back 5 feet, and then since they've just moved into a square adjacent to you, auto-hit them again.
>>43846948
Ah, that's pretty cool stuff. FantasyCraft was the d20 game I almost loved, but it's too crunchy for my taste.
I know /tg/ is basically MTG only, but is there anyone here that is used to Cardfight Vanguard?
I'm thinking about building a Pacifica (pic related) Deck to get ready for the new stride, but I've hit a stump, since I can't find a good alternative for Pearl Sisters, Perle and Perla.
Any ideas?
>>43845890
post moar anime grills.
>>43845890
Wow, that looks like a clusterfuck. Cute grills though.
>>43845890
Your game plan is probably going to be to stride Pacifica twice before doing anything else, so you'll have GB up quickly.
Run Spica or Potpourri on G2, and Shizuku on G1 so you can search those Pacificas.
I need to come up with a cool pantheon of gods fro a setting.
I want them to work on a spectrum of both Just/Fair to Cruel, and Orderly to Chaotic/Mad. This, however, can work pretty easily on ye ol' alignment system. SO, to organize them I've made a wee chart and put it in the next post.
I want their ideas to be tangentially relevant to their neighbors, but then each's personality and dogmas/domains be ultimately unique to them; influenced by no other.
Romantic Themes > Generic Themes
Inventive/Iconic Domains > Generic Domains
(i.e. "-the god of Ruin" > "-the god of fire")
The PCs are to all be acolytes of said god(s).
>>43845878
So part of the idea is also that the on-mark gods are generally the Major Gods, and the in between gods are generally Minor Gods. There can be exceptions, but that's the general concept.
For now lets focus on the domains and the god's position, over the specifics.
I'd also like to avoid on-the-nose gods, like gods of war or piece. You could argue a god of conquest though, and then it could have war-like themes, but it's not literally the god of catapults and swordsmanship.
