>Space Marines entombed within Dreadnoughts are very experienced warriors with centuries if not millenia worth of combat experience.
>They simply use them as walking tanks.
Shouldn't Space Marine Dreadnoughts have positions of command or advisory and such considering the calibre of the individuals on life-support inside them?
>>54605238
>attempting to make sense of 40k
>ever
You've already accepted the premise, just go with it.
>>54605238
They do have positions of command and advisory and such.
>>54605238
1) Some do.
2) Some are also BTFO by their injuries so much they have to be altered to lessen the pain, or to put together functioning parts of their system, that they are effectively less than what they were and are pretty much senile senior citizens in a warmachine.
Would a werewolf be offended if you called her a bitch?
Would a bunch of Tengu be offended if you called them a murder?
Well you probably could call group of kenku a murder.
Maybe you could call group of tengu a flock?

Unstoppable savage Malar-driven Sexual werebeast incursion. Remember, Lycanthropy in D&D canon is also spread as a sexually transmitted disease.
>>54605155
I will use that one - because one of my players wants to become a lycatnrope - gonna have werehyena drag him away
What are the best options to run a one-shot with little preparation and notice when the typical GM isn't able to that day?
>>54605028
Run a pre-made
>>54605028
Yeah you can find a ton of Adventurer's league one-shots online for free (DDEX & DDAL). You can just re-balance the encounters for your party and then go from there.
Wizards even has some of these available online (Google search "DDEX03-01")
Everyone is John
Why are Grots so OP?
I can have a squad of 30 of them (good luck taking any objectives from me) and if there's more than 20 of them they get plus one on their hits. Also for 30 of them I only spend 90 points.
In a 2000 points game you can run 500 of them for 1500 points then use the other 500 for heavy support.
Sure they wound mostly everything on a 5+ or a 6+ but with 30 shots from them at least 2 or 3 wounds are slipping through.
>>54604971
>he can't deal with gretchin
Git gud.
>>54604971
On average 100 grots, costing 300 points, in blobs of 20+, kill in one turn:
22 guardsmen
7.4 space marines
1.8 terminators
0.23 land raiders
They're great anti-horde, and excellent at objective holding and deepstrike denial, but they're hardly generalists. They can kill light infantry and only light infantry. You should always be taking some in an ork army, but spamming them isn't a great idea.
>>54605059
What if I add the grot tanks too?
I need character ideas, /tg/.
Simple ideas. Ideas that can be used for recruitable NPC units in a turn-based tactical RPG, in the vein of Fire Emblem.
Some examples:
>Burly blacksmith who wishes to personally test his wares and hone his craft on the battlefield.
>Battle-thirsty upbeat warrior with no allegiances or loyalty, who fights only in the hopes of finding his ultimate opponent.
>A mage savant who has the ability to cast spells without the use of tomes, but has absolutely no control over what he casts and is hopelessly clumsy in all areas of life.
a fighting man, is a pacifist and family man off the battlefield, but becomes a killing machine who loves combat when on-the clock
he will take any risk if there is sufficient reward
Axe Druid, saviour of the teutoburg forest!
A druid who mediates between nature spirits and neighbouring mortal towns. A pragmatist, he seeks diplomatic and magical solutions to the agriculture vs Old Forest question. Restrict human logging to new-growth areas, and keep the farms productive enough to not require expansion & felling. Educate peasants about faerie customs. Prefers dialogue when dealing with adventurers, but will absolutely turn into a bear when needed.

A sugar cane worker, she's a single mom that took that job to feed her child after the father left her.
Fighter with low strength gains but tough, she joins in the hope of finding her son who was drafted soon into his teen years and hasn't heard of in months.
So one of my players had made a wizard chef as their character. They use magic to enhance their food and one day hope to cook for royalty. As of now he sets up food carts in each city and town he goes to and gives out samples and sells gourmet meals for cheap. He goes adventuring to kill monsters and creatures to see how they taste along with new exotic plants and spices. What do you think would be some appropriate items (magic or mundane) that would be good to have available for him to purchase or find on his adventures?
Dwarvish mastercrafted mythril cookware
>>54605036
Elvish enchanted flagon of never ending cooking oil.
A vial of Drow truffle oil which is lethal in high doses but pleasantly tingly in very small amounts
A wreath of dried orcish chilis
A gnomish pocket distiller to extract essences of aromas which can be kept in little perfume bottles to spray on things
>>54605066
Blocks of salt (historically crazy valuable)

Stoic and jaded. Stereotypical western protagonist, basically.

So /tg/, how do 8th edition Sisters play?
Cool bro. How's your applied behavioral analysis going? Keep putting in the work buddy. Has your mom put you on a low fodmap diet yet? I'm not sure if it really works, but it doesn't hurt.

Is there a market anywhere, in a typical D&D world, for 21,604 fancy daggers (that probably only nobles and adventurers can afford) per day?
