How would you make a princess the BBEG?
>>54534620
She's head over heels for one of the party members, but knows that the only way her parents will sanction a marriage is if they preform an act of sufficient valor for the kingdom
>>54534646
This, but she wants to kidnap the party member and ravish her as the horrible masked BBEG.
>>54534692
Nah. Less funny that way
How would Holy Terra fare against a Hive Fleet?
>>54531503
Depends on how big the hive fleet is, who was present when this all goes down, how long they've had to prepare, and how deep the genestealer infestation really runs
>>54531583
Assume they've had enough time to fully prepare, but for some reason are only able to make use of what they have in-system
They're up against the full for of Hive Fleet Leviathan
>>54531503
Pretty well, what with the shipyards, it being Holy Terra and Mars being RIGHT THERE for the Mechanicus to asspull some superweapon assuming Emps doesn't just reincarnate and BTFO the fleet himself.
It's 40k man, it runs on holy bullshittium or high octane handwavium.
What are your worst horror stories of other players'/DMs' magical realm bullshit or unwanted ERPing?
>>54521560
What's that image from, OP?
Storytime:
>first session of campaign
>enter bar
>GM describes naked lithe feminine catboy approaching me
>spends half an hour roleplaying this feline rentboy trying to pick me up
>i leave the bar, catboy follows
>i try to find a different inn, catboy follows
>i draw a weapon, catboy runs away out of reach
>i pull out a crossbow, catboy hides
>i move on, suddenly catboy is there again
Eventually I tell the GM to stop fucking around and tell me what he wants me to do with the catboy, since the game clearly isn't going to progress without him. The GM said he's decided the catboy is going to be my character's love interest.
I leave the table.

That's fine, right? As long as it doesn't influence other people, let him have his fun.

Threads have been extra slow again lately. Still a fan of remembrance, by the way.
>>54510881
Yeah they have. It's kind of rough. I've never been able to adjust to them being so slow since I'm spoiled from when we went through 2-3 threads a day sometimes. And thanks. How's prepping for the impending school year going? Sounds as if free time is at a premium. Teachers in the US have it rough, assuming that's where you are.
>card
I like it because you can use it on an opponent's creature and not worry about it hurting you, but it also becomes a really good blocker, so it can bite you in the ass. You can also use it on your own stuff for some serious unkillable wall action. I'm torn as to whether it's too expensive or not. Most other examples of this are 2C, but of course this one has an upside. Maybe... Flash? I don't often suggest it but the dual color in the casting cost feels terribly restricting even if you can reuse it. I dunno, maybe it's okay.
Also, given the spirit of the thread, here's a spin on your card using the base mechanic.

Reminder to ignore bait, unless it is masterfully crafted.
First for the Resistance!
Scourge done, pls be proud of me.
Now time to paint all the other fleets. Fucking Dave and his delicious model design
RESISTANCE IN SPACE WHEN?
Daily reminder that Leman Russ was first one to destroy a loyalist legion on warmaster Horus's command, how can other traitor primarchs even compete?
>>54591810
The imperium was better off without them anyway
They can't, that's why they lost, duh
>>54591810
Russ is probably responsible for why the Imperium is such a shithole.

If I like this and add it to my setting, my world is not medieval anymore, right?
>>54586949
It's still feudal, OP. The dark ages featured all of the elements you just mentioned. That armor is 14th century-esque, but fuck it, it's your setting.
>>54586949
>If I like this and add it to my setting, my world is not medieval anymore, right?
Yes and no, considering where the Renaissance starts is incredibly iffy (some start it as early as the 1200s, others as late as 1492 because Columbus discovering the Americas is a convenient cut-off point).
The first guys who did that those things were the French during/after the Hundred Years War, so that's as late as it can get which is debatably very medieval.
Maybe.
But does it truly matter if your setting fits this somewhat arbitrary pigeon hole?
Form up, men! Backs straight, arms at your side!
Men! As you are all likely aware, tonight is movie night. I had even managed to get my hands on the new action Pict, "Try Hard 19: You tried your hardest!". Thankfully, instead of wasting your time watching a stupid action movie, you're all going to live it! As I have just been informed during a meeting with Divisional command, that we are to be joining the coming battle to retake the planetary capital city of the planet Dracolese.
But, before be begin what will be a most assuredly bloody, yet glorious task, that will cost innumerable lives! I am calling for a surprise field kit inspection, to assure myself, that each and everyone of you, is ready to stand atop the graves of each of these foul traitors, and piss upon their graves!
As such, all hands, present arms and equipment for a Field Kit Inspection.
>Welcome to ''Field Kit Inspection", home of the 'Unknown Regiment". Feel free to join in! Remember though, we tend to use spoilers for OOC chat, while greentexts for are used for describing a character's actions. D20s are for combat checks and d100s for other things you wish to roll, with higher being better.

How does your setting, or at least the country you play in, handle homosexuality? I know this sounds like a bait thread but I just played a D& D-based homebrew game with a nation that had an interesting take on it and thought I could share my own thoughts. Basically there was a huge war a couple of decades ago that severely depopulated the people of the nation, and a lot of the culture has evolved to focus on fertility and having children, along with preserving traditional culture. Because of this, homosexuality was seen as sinful because such a union could not create children, in addition to being previously looked down on before the catastrophe. Things only came to a head, of course, when one of the nobles was caught in bed with another man, so now it was an actual recognized issue since it affected real people. But because that family held a great deal of power and didn't want their influence to diminish, they pulled some strings to have a meeting of the heads of church and state to decide how to deal with this sort of thing. Instead of the typical purge response, they hit on an interesting solution. Homosexual couples would still be seen as sinful by default, but this could be changed if the couple was willing to have one of them don a girdle of gender change for long enough to produce at least two children. Having fulfilled their debt to god and government by bringing new life into the world, their sinful union is officially pardoned by the church. The result of this new law was actually an increase (or at least much more open-ness) of homosexual relations since there was no longer any worries about your lineage not carrying on.
Please fuck off back to /lgbt/.
These fucking retarded questions do nothing except encourage faggots like yourself to spam political messages, and are filled to the brim with utter shit like your own OP post.
>>54585539
In my settings even those that take place on Earth LGBT faggotry simply doesn't exist, it's simply impossible
Homosexuality was cured millenia ago. Gays don't exist.
How does war look like if the offensive tech is far stronger/better than the defensive tech?
>>54584991
WWII
>>54585022
So, that was a good thread.
What should we do now, I propose Uno.
>>54584991
Like every war ever, WWI looked like a stalemate because the offensive tech of the machinegun was so overpowering.
Instead of landing in Fenris the pod with the Primarch lands in Westeros, let's say after Robb borth, and Leman Russ is adopted and raised by Ned Stark.
What is going to happen to Westeros? Who will survive the onslaught after Russ hears of the Ned death? Will Russ bend the knee to Robb Stark?
>>54584829
>tags: crossover, 40k, GoT, primarch, leman_russ
Leman Russ is retarded enough to go fight a the 3 dragons face to face. He is gonna get burned as soon as Dany reaches Westeros.
>>54585479
>thinking overgrown lizards can kill a Primarch.
What Tabletop System lends itself well to the Legend of Zelda? I was thinking D&D 5e, but only because I have that readily accessible.
>inb4 "5e sucks" meme
Any system suggestions, though?
>>54584488
I'm going to be that guy and suggest GURPS. It's got all your bases covered in terms of equipment: boomerang, grappling hook, sword-and-board, slingshot, etc. If you use what's known as a wildcard skill you can cover *all* the skills and techniques involved with being Link (or Link-like).
>>54584488
But it does indeed suck
>>54584488
What exactly would be involved in a LoZ game? It seems like a pretty generic fantasy setting mechanically, you'd just need to repaint things. Do you mean you want a solo game or something?
why play regular guard when you can play THE BEST KINDA GUARD
KKK guard?
>>54583695
Cause these guys look like chaos worshiper (nurgle comes to mind) and we all know what we do to people who look like they are tainted
>>54583704
Found the image while browsing material and pictures for trying to make my own renegade guard army. I really want to get into 40k, and while I have no idea how comparable the idea still is, they seem like the least edgy traitors of em' all.

Bassic idea is that theres a loose Alien Federation (who isnt the tau/is a alternative to the tau) living in the Halo Stars that was created during the power vacuum either during or at the end of the Horus Heresy by the Cabal.
basic rules is either you bring old unused 40K/fantasy races back to light or make your own weird shit
>all the members of the cabal races are unknown, only the highest of the high of council races know the face of atleast 5 cabal members
>some of the cabal are the last of an extinct race, others mutants, some exiled eldar, some are even client races
>a popular theory among council races is that the leader of the cabal is the last living old one
>there is atleast 20 members of the cabal and they are all assumed to be powerful and to some extent immortal
Fell asleep when the last thread died.

Polynesian insects sounds like a good one. Perhaps a latent hivemind connection where the queen once was?
They shun planets and when they do settle down for a while, primarily building on asteroids or small lifeless moons.
Each fleet has its own Princess, but they do not have the strength to dominate their wills or access the latent hive mind, but strong enough to safeguard a small fleet from the perils of Chaos. Their FTL is slower than Imperial, but more reliable.
Being traders and merchants, they tend to avoid combat where possible, preferring to sacrifice ships and troops so the Princess and bulk of their people can flee. When they do engage in space combat, their ships are heavily equipped with hangers of bombers and fighters.
Question: The Coalition covers the entire galactic rim, or am I misunderstanding and it's only a portion thereof?
Because that's a bloody immense distance, even for supertech jump drives.
