On average 100 grots, costing 300 points, in blobs of 20+, kill in one turn:
22 guardsmen
7.4 space marines
1.8 terminators
0.23 land raiders

They're great anti-horde, and excellent at objective holding and deepstrike denial, but they're hardly generalists. They can kill light infantry and only light infantry. You should always be taking some in an ork army, but spamming them isn't a great idea.

What's the range of their gun? Isn't it 12"? Sure, 100 grots will kill a decent amount, but math-hammer in this case is always implying perfect conditions when it's rarely the case.

Grot tanks are actually bloody amazing. They are the most efficient rokkit delivery system we have, and are actually quite tough to boot. They are unreliable, 24" rokkits with 2d6 movement (3d6 advancing), but they're our best ranged anti-bigthing after lootas, and they're better at killing T8.

Pic related. 30 points base, 42 with rokkit launcha and shoota (shoota is free), and the kaptin can take 2 rokkit launchas, making him 54 pts. 42 ppm for a bs4+ rokkit is pretty efficient, and the kaptin is a steal.
