A few days ago I posted a thread regarding my game, I figured I'd follow up with some pics of the completed 2.0 version.
For the full description, I have it posted on BGG
https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/202491/12-towers
The TL;DR version:
This is my attempt at a Sandbox RPG game. The game includes a massive 32x32 board (working on sizing it down, or making it tile based), 600 game cards, 12 Tower figurines and character figurines, Tracker Sheets and a rulebook (in progress)
This has been a work in progress for almost a year, and I'm (hopefully...) getting close to the end stages of getting a Kickstarter later next month, as well as a team of artists, publishers and so forth to give it the final shine.
As complex as it looks, The 12 Towers is pretty straight forward and simple. Players take turns completing a number of actions; Attacking, casting spells, moving and exploring, etc etc. When there's a high number of active players, multiple turns are taken at the same time. This allows for team gameplay (and betrayal!)
The main goal is to control all 12 Towers, or eliminate all players, both are not easily accomplished. The focus of the game is Power. Rather than a shit ton of numbers to remember, Power basically represents everything that you are; Mana, Health, Money, Influence, and so on. Pretty much everything in the game effects Power, and it's not an infinite resource. The idea is to keep your Power high, and bring others down.
As of right now I'm looking to get some information in artists, publishers, manufacturers, editors, social media experts and possible play testers in the NY area to get involved in the near future, and be a part of this project. In due time I'll have the funds to divvy up and get some professionals working on this. So far it's just been me making this game.
I'll post my work e-mail in a bit, and if you have questions regarding anything just ask.
Card artwork so far, all my original work.
Obviously I'd like to find a professional group of artists to make this look a LOT less cartoony, but it's getting the job done.
Looks neat. It sounds a bit tricky to find enough people to play though.
>>48176487
Thanks, the game works with any amount of players, from 2 to 12. About a month ago I got a 5vs5 team DM organized, and it ran quite smoothly.
Problem is I keep finding new players, and it's a mess explaining the rules all over again. Eventually I'll get a solid team of pro testers, so we can whip through a game in no time, rather than cut half way because it's already been 2 hours.
Who's excited for this?
>>48175043
>What is this? An image for Dwarves?
Kidding aside excited to see the first adventure post Curse of Strahd. They seem to have remembered how to write adventures now and I'm excited to play this with my area's very disorganized organized play.
...once we finish dicking around in the sandbox that is Barovia.

>NAGASH, THE GREAT BETRAYAL AGAI
>Nagash had led the emissaries of the Anvils of the Heldenhammer to believe that he would join them in their assault upon the fortress of Gothizzar, the All-gate that guarded the Endgate. Nagash knew that the arcway leading from the Allpoints to Shyish must be shuttered, but he did not aid the Stormcast Eternals. Such an alliance did not suit the Great Necromancer; after all, Nagash still did not consider his long-standing grudge against Sigmar for the wrongs done to him repaid. From his throne of bones, he watched the Stormcast Eternals die at Gothizzar. When he was ready, Nagash’s assault upon that fortress would not fail. He summoned his Mortarchs to council…

That sure worked out well for the dumbass. Hope he enjoys Chaos continuing to camp on his lawn.
Welcome to a thread where we discuss the backstory to a children's card game and make awful OC for the same setting. Expect the lowest quality of fanfiction and self-inserts in this thread. Remember, every snowflake is shit, especially yours and especially mine.
Previous thread: >>48169092
What happened in it? Some more nonsense about the doomguy-clone (>>48171085), a bunch of bickering about some pointy flake shit, some smutty fucker with another angel flake and a bunch of bad erotica (>>48183858) and maybe some other shit I can't recall.
There's also a repository where someone is obsessively hoarding all of the OC we produce, whether it's a shitty snowflake planeswalker or a terrible story. Whatever you make, expect it to be saved. Here's the repository:

And if you're interested in discussing the lore that's almost as bad as what we make, then here's the latest MtG lore article featuring oldwalkers being stupid:

General List Building Advice: https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Warhammer_40,000/Tactics#Listbuilding_101
Some Dos and Don'ts of this thread:
DO:
- Post what you want to do with your list (tournament, casual, etc.)
- Post the points limit
- Post the total cost of each model (for characters) or unit
- List the upgrades a unit has taken
- List the dedicated transports a unit has taken
- Clearly identify which detachment/formation each unit belongs to
DON'T:
- Post the individual cost break down for each upgrade
- Post the individual stats of a unit
- Copy the list directly from battle scribe (or equivalent)
- List ALL the war gear/special rules a model/unit has
- List all the command benefits a individual detachment has
Looking for a little feedback on what I just came up with. Hopefully this thread stays around.

Use kheres on the contemptor, if you really need the 48 inch range then mount them on a regular dread, much cheaper
I started with nids, switched to AdMech when they came out, and will collect some more nids now.
I don't have much in terms of playable nids, which are:
Dakka flyrant
Dakkafex
Termagants+devourers
Genestealers+broodlord
Laius Horror
Zoanthrope
What should I get next? I'll get at least the nid value box for more warriors and another dakka flyrant, but what else is good?
I'm looking to play more of a mid-range nid army with more specialization and less horde
Could I conceivably transplant Pokémon (the creatures, not the storylines or worlds) into an otherwise more or less serious fantasy world without turning it into absolute nightmare fuel?
I think most of them make up an interesting batch of monsters that would switch things up from the standard orcs and dark elves. It's just that the implications of having weird little elemental demigods running around can get out of hand pretty quick.
>>48192098
Stage 1 Pokemon are the common ones, so, for example, Charmander is basicallly your grunt-type of enemy in the dungeon. Charmeleon would be a dungeon boss, or at the very least higher level encounter. Charizard is the final dungeon boss, incredibly tough and with flames that easily melt rocks and roast a knight in his armor (Quite vulnerable to a sneakily thrown stone though).
So basically, you'd want to keep the higher evolutions for special bosses or encounters, and make them feel special. If you have a monster that can fuck over whole mountains, you wouldn't want it to just roam around, I guess.
>>48192098
Pokémon aren't just creatures, they're the central mechanic around which the games and setting revolve. Pokémon are caught in PokéBalls bought at the PokéMart and brought to the PokéCenter for healing, so you can go out and catch more Pokémon or have Pokémon Battles to advance yourself in the game. Pokémon are very setting-specific because the rules by which they behave don't mesh very well with other settings. It's possible, but you might as well just use their fantasy equivalents, and many are based off fantasy creatures already.
The Monsters in Monster Hunter are also very setting-centric, but those monsters are much more transplantable because your engagement with them isn't too out of place in other settings. In Monster Hunter, a PC fights monsters for resource gains and advancement. In Pokémon, a PC uses monsters to fight and capture other monsters which can be used for fighting for resource gains and advancement.
Part of the reason Pokémon operate so differently is because they're much more like Shinto spirits than actual monsters. You'd also have to justify why cleaving through dozens of fully-sentient beings is okay, given that they've all shown a capacity for reason, empathy, and a huge depth of understanding on-par with the humans who work with and train them.

>What is this about?
This is a kind of strategy game where you control a space ship, battle space enemies and hopefully don't get turned into space debris. In space.
>How can I join?
It's simple:
- Choose a name for yourself and your ship
- Put it into your trip
- Read the rules
- Design your ship (or take a sample one provided below)
- Copy the stats of your ship into the bottom of your posts.
It has been thousands of years since humans discovered FTL. In that time humanity settled a corner of the Galaxy, discovered no non-human sapient species and managed to become an ancient precursor civilization to itself at least a few times. Right now humanity is pretty divided, with states ranging from 4-5 systems to a single orbital habitat, and low-level space warfare is ubiquitous. This is where you come in.

[C&C]: Your mission is to escort an archeological expedition to a recently discovered fragment of a Precursor space habitat. Unfortunately, treasure hunters usually move faster than academic bureaucracy, so expect combat.
Deploy in the range of 2 hexes of the expedition's ship (on the right) with the speed of 1.
Note: the habitat fragment is surrounded by debris. It functions just like a dust field. Namely:
- Attacks have -1 to hit per debris hex they go through
- A ship entering a debris hex with speed over 1 suffers an attack that hits on 5- (plus size mod) and deals 1d10 + speed + size mod damage.
You have 360 credits to design your ship for this mission. Or you can choose the sample ship below:

>The Pronoun Game:
>Okay, here it is – we use he, him, and his when we’re talking about people playing the game. It just seems weird to alternate pronoun genders within the same book – it makes it feel like the book is written for two different audiences. it. It may not be politically correct, but you can’t please everybody
How based can they be? Are other game designers this sensible usually?
It's too bad the game sucks.

How would you play a hero race based on H.R.Gieger's work?
Like, despite looking repulsive and monstrous, they are actually the ones preventing the industrialization of the world?
>>48183851
Make them very individualistic. They have the mindset or notion that Industrialization takes away the value of a person, a being of great potential being reduced to another gear or cog in a machine only to be replaced when they find someone better then them.
>>48183851
>>48184311
"instead of taking from the earth and creating a machine to do the work for you, take from the earth only what you need to become what you must in order to get the job done yourself"
>>48183851
First I'd learn how to spell Hansruedi's name.
Then, it's been done. From the Xenomorph in the Alien series, which was entirely inspired by Giger's work, to the Harkonnen in Lynch's Dune, which was at least colored in Giger's tones although the sociopolitical details come from Herbert and I don't know where the gay stuff came from.
Now I'm not sure what your beef with industrialization implies exactly, but I'd be totally up for a hidden ecosystem beneath the soil where carapace landscapes grow unseen deep in the geology. Sometimes a chrysalis buds up through the ground and bears a guardian on the surface...

Also, some legions have only 2 specific units, while others have 3. Will that be fixed in the next book? (or at least in the DA/WS/BA book?)

>deep in the dungeon, you find a small child
What's a non-terrifying explanation for this?
Illithid nobles have bet an entire inheritance on who could keep their chosen human child alive the longest while never directly influencing them. It just so happens this girl happened to get "lost" in a cave while coincidentally avoiding every single monster and abomination your party recently just slaughtered minutes to hours ago.

There's a chute or hole that connects to the surface that is hidden and the kid fell down it.
Dragon keeps a hoard of children
Mongol keeps a Horde of children
Pimp keeps some whores who are children.
Boatsman keeps some oars which are children.
A previous party that came through hte dungeon brought their mascot along and then the rest of the party died and the mascot has been surviving ever since. (like that child in jojo part 6 who lives in the ghost room of impel down).
