We need more sci-fi stuff round here, so i'll start shall I?

Pictured are the Isungrules (I-sung-rules) coming from the latin words for join and blue. (Picture also shamelessly taken from Stellaris)

They're an alien species that evolved to have a symbiotic relationship with the natural plant life on there homeworld, as evidenced by the giant mushroom growing out of this fellers head.

It's hard for them to adapt to new environments so this has coloured there society, they usually keep to close knit family groups and their system of government is a representative democracy.

Sure, I'll give some info on my current race in Stellaris.

The Visari are a race of theocratic avians descended from raptor-analogues on the arid world of Mirabel, orbiting the cruel blue giant Kerak. A race desperate to escape the scorched earth, the Visari erected vast monolithic cities that stretched high above the planet, where they took to Solar worship in reverence to what was now viewed as a stern but life-giving father, the one who gave their eggs nourishing heat to grow and flourish.

Today, the Visari have taken to the stars in search of new suns to join their pantheon, as any Visari born on an alien world may call that sun their father. A lifetime of industry have made them brutally efficient in mineral extraction, and their studies in the secrets of life are second to none. Unfortunately, their curious preening habits developed over the existence of their species can be considered repugnant by most, and the Visari's natural disgust towards foreign races has given them a non-violent, but rigid stance of self-imposed isolation.

Visari ships employ powerful shields and vicious laser-based weaponry, in reverence to the light. Their leader is divine, a God-Emperor considered to be of those infused with raw star-stuff (and thus, godhood) granted unto them by Kerak, the Life-Giver.

Here are some short recaps of the major faction in my WIP sci-fi settings I exlude the humans from this

>The Ar'arb Holdings
The species known as the Ar'arb is a race of four legged avians. They are very secluded from the other factions and races due to their home world and nearby stars is bordering several black holes (by bordering I mean they are close, but not close enough to do any harm, for now. And the gravity from the black holes is enough to pull ships out of FTL in my setting). By being very secluded from the others has made them very protective of what little planets and stars they control, this has lead to the name of their goverment to be "The Ar'arb Holdings

>The Eshi Alliance
The Eshi's are a species of insectoids that live on the planet "Erstahr" a cold and almost lifeless planet that lies on the border of the goldielock-zone in their home system. Before the achived spaceflight the nation and states on Erstahr were always fighting, ruled by warlord who wanted to do nothing more that gain glory to their many gods. But this all changed when they gained the knowlagde to split the atom. Realizingthat warring with eachother would enchur in M.A.D, they instead looked up to the starts and used the nuclear power to achive spaceflight. They are now one of the most well armed neutral faction in my setting.

>The Vrobrak Coalition of Stars
The Vrobraks are a short lived humanoid species that hail from the massive high gravity world of "Jurt-Ba". Compared to the Eshi Alliance, the Vrobraks had a relative peacefull and almost uneventfull past, but over time they manage to eascape the high gravity of their homeworld due to an advanced fuel source known as "Ziontonium" origional am i right... . This spurred in a mssive boom in tachnology, cities and population. Now in the present day not a single plot of untouched land can be found on Jurt-Ba (Imagine corousant from SW). cont...
>>
>>48179847
>The Vrobrak Coalition of Stars, cont...
At the moment there are tentions between the Human Empire and the Vrobrak Coalition of Stars due the fact that tend to stripmine and "urbanize" every habital planet they come across in search for more pockets of Ziontonium

>The Ukmelh Dynasty
The Ukmelh Dynasty isn't called that becuase the species name is Ukmelh, the name of the species is Travlanok but it is the Dynasty of Ukmelh that is the current rules of their empire. The Travlanok's themselves are a race of long limbed bipeds that hail from the jungle planet Ke'Otom. They have a very large empire but it is not well enforced or protected so many minor Dynasties pop up and claim parts of their empire as thier own. But with weapons bought from Eshi merchants and traders have made the Ukmelh Dynasty the supreme rules for many years.

Those are larger factions in my setting, I have some thought of other minor ones, including nomads, spacers and mercenaries.

Post any art requests you have ITT. Keep in mind, the drawfriends are doing this for fun, so do not be surprised or upset if they gloss over your post. The artists are here to draw what they WANT to draw, not what you THINK should be drawn.

Be patient, and bump your request one time every 24 hours from the time you posted the request. There is no exception to this rule, it doesn't matter if you "have work" or "are going to bed".

DO:
Provide good, detailed references (pictures are better than verbal descriptions), so the artists know what you're looking for as best you can.

Hold off on additional requests after receiving a delivery from an artist, and be mindful of the other requests that might deserve attention.

Mind your manners and say thank you! We appreciate our artists and their amazing work!

Ignore the bait, you're better than this.

DON'T:
Don't be an asshole and immediately repost your request because you don't like the FREE art you received.

Requesting a female orc slave girl.. WAIT DON'T STRING ME UP YET!

Yes she is a slave girl but she is breaking her bonds and killing the guards that thought they could make a slave out of her.

She was shackled to the wall with lengths of chain, too bad the walls weren't as strong as the chain. So she is wearing slave clothes and large manacles with the long chains still attached.

She has a guard on the ground, with her foot planted on his back and one of her chains wrapped around his neck. She's pulling back on the chain contorting his back as she strangles the life from him. Guard is grasping at the chains around his neck with one hand and reaching for help with his other hand.

Reference pic is an idea for her attire but if you want to get creative feel free to go with your own creation. Lewd is acceptable

Thanks in advance.

Riddle me this, mister.

Once there was a farmer who wanted a cabbage for his dinner. But the farmer who grew cabbage would trade them only for rice, and the rice farmer lived a hundred furlongs from the farmer.
The rice farmer would trade only for fruits, but the orchard was another hundred furlongs beyond that, and the orchard tender only wished for onion.
But the onion farm was another five hundred furlongs past that. And so the farmer hitched up his trusty workhorse and went to get a cabbage.

How many hundreds of furlongs did the farmer travel for his cabbage?

I've been looking for a bronze age (or early iron age) rpg setting with a more mythic feel. So, I guess that means I want to get into RuneQuest.

Please post PDFs, version recommendations, and other Runequest stuff here.

RQ6 is the current favourite edition; RQ2 the classic was rereleased recently, and a new Glorantha Centric version of RQ is in the works which may be right up your alley, as it's Bronze Age as fuck.

I've been kitbashing minis for a Second Age Ralios campaign with MRQ; mostly I'm doing the slightly backwards Orlanthi clanfolk of Lankst, and their neighbours the Telmori.

As a base I'm using Warlord Games 28mm celts and Copplestone Cavemen respectively.

Got me a roundhouse a some palisades I made outta flock, plasticard and matchsticks too.
>>
>>48193247
You can't use "RuneQuest" in the OP. It triggers the filters, although you could argue that the kind of people who use filters may not be the kind of people you want to hang out with, RQ is a bit of a niche system already.
>>
>I've been looking for a bronze age (or early iron age) rpg setting

Why though.

>with a more mythic feel.

I think you mean one that has myths. You'd need to look far elsewhere for a "mythic" feel.

I know that many of your here love collecting the art out of the various art dumps in here, for inspiration or just because it's cool, whatever; and I know that many of you, like me, have built collections with thousands of images in them.

How do you sort and organise them?

Like with the character art, it'd be really helpful to organise them by theme (nordic/medieval/'desert'/cyberpunk, etc) but at the same time, I'd really like to have them sorted roughly by 'class' as well (fighters/knights/mages/priests) etc. Using folders to do this breaks down immediately, and then there's all the ones that don't fit neatly into categories, or would be great in separate categories (say, I really want to put something in an 'elf' folder, but would love it in an 'archer' folder as well). I could copy paste them but that quadruples the time it takes to sort, instead of instantly dragging+dropping.

Windows 7 has a 'tag' system which would be perfect for this, but it's fucking murder writing out tags individually for each one. I'd fucking love a way to do by batches.

Given there's programs that happily find all the duplicates in my collection, surely there's good organisational ones too? I've googled around but I've either only found dodgy looking paid programs aimed at grandmas that probably only do what Windows already does, or really really barebones stuff off github that need weird runtimes and whatever and that I can't get to run.

I'll dump cool locations that aren't posted here often in the meantime.

pretty simple to explain, our group has been playing anima beyond fantasy for well over a year now and were sick of it, maybe we just need a break, maybe were done, i dunno.

we gave 5e a shot cause we wanted something more simple, we all agree its too simple, actually combat is great just the classes suck, your class gets like 5 abilities and two people of the same class are nearly identical.

we decided we to look around, I'm one of two of our group that browses /tg/ and ill check here first.

SO, does anyone know of any good point buy systems to run a fantasy roleplaying game in that ISNT gurps (its a meme at this point)

Does such a thing exist or will we have to suck it up and deal with 5e?

Unless you count SRS games as point buy, but the fantasy ones aren't exactly good.

My group is playing a game in the Forgotten realms settings and I'm playing a mage character. However I'm kinda stuck on how powerful a mage should be.
Does anyone know a good build for a combat mage?

Hate to start off thread with just questions but

I'm starting up a campaign again but using GURPS for it this time. The PCs are a couple of Merc's turned knights in a low fantasy game. They've been put in charge of a town, and eventually are probably gonna be building a fighting force (there's a civil war on the horizon) and a town. I have the PDF for mass combat, but where can I find rules for building forts, towns, and managing those resources and such?

I'm assuming you're using the default magic system. What's your starting point budget?
In general, you're going to be more useful trying to do things the rest of the party can't do rather than outpace them in terms of damage, but that doesn't mean you can't have a handful of good attack spells. In general, you're going to want to have one or two (three at the absolute most) attack spells at a high enough skill level that the FP cost drops to 0; if they're your bread-and-butter attacks, it won't do to have them be an intense resource drain. You're always going to be firing fairly slowly, however, as missile spells take at least one round of casting *before* you spend a round attacking.

Dungeon Fantasy is meant to emulate D&D to a certain extent, and the starting characters are supposedly the equivalent of level 4-5 characters; look at the example blaster wizard if you want spell selections.

There's a small PDF called City Stats floating around. Pyramid #3/54 Social Engineering has the "City Management" article that uses that splat and gives some rules. The short version is that you set the taxation rate for the towns and can spend that money on a variety of civic projects, economic growth, defense, or riotous living. There's also a small bit on administrative duties (i.e. roll Administration once a month to see how badly you screwed the town over) and building new towns.

If you want something more in depth, there's also Lord of the Manor in a different issue of Pyramid, which looks at how much land a ruling lord owns (and what's grown on it) to find how much they get in taxes. The money could then be spent via Low-Tech Companion 3's rules on fortifications and large-scale engineering. Even if you don't want this level of detail, Lord of the Manor may be a useful read if your "city" is more of a center for surrounding farmland and you want some help eyeballing the town's tax revenue.
