Playing a narrative campaign this weekend as Slaves to Darkness.

Should I go with a Sorceror Lord and recruit a Chaos Lord later, or just two Sorceror Lords?

2x Oracular Visions and Daemonic Power is tempting.

I'd have the "Return from the Past II" holodrama sequel set in 40s ABY, after the whole Caedus, Abeloth etc stuff so the surprise future tech would be Yuuzhan Vong biotech rebuilding say.. Coruscant. Then the alternate evil timeline can be The Force Awakens that they have to prevent.

You could even have Hux as a skinhead gang leader they encounter on Coruscant attacking Vong repairs and even Jagged's Empire doesn't want him, then in alt-40 ABY you get him as he is in the film, a high up General in a neo-nazi resurgent version of the Empire known as the First Order.

Part III would obviously be set in Rakata times. They have to hijack a large Rakatan freighter and tractor beam the HWK-290 to 88 Megalights per hour, Space Doc falls in love with a Sith pureblood slave.

We need a place to make training of our troops easier. Training in open waters just won't cut it. We need a controlled enviroment. Builders, take in mind that The King has very high standards! Dare not underpreform.

Entirely because of that asshole Speck. Bloom was a fringe combo deck that went off maybe 8-10% of the time, and it was very fragile.

It is 40 years since Operation Entebbe, a successful counter-terrorist hostage-rescue mission carried out by commandos of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) at Entebbe Airport in Uganda.

A week earlier on 27 June, an Air France plane with 248 passengers had been hijacked by two members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – External Operations (PFLP-EO) under orders of Wadie Haddad and two members of the German Revolutionary Cells. The hijackers had the stated objective to free 40 Palestinian and affiliated militants imprisoned in Israel and 13 prisoners in four other countries in exchange for the hostages. The flight, which had originated in Tel Aviv with the destination of Paris, was diverted after a stopover in Athens via Benghazi to Entebbe, the main airport of Uganda. The Ugandan government supported the hijackers, and dictator Idi Amin personally welcomed them. After moving all hostages from the aircraft to a disused airport building, the hijackers separated all Israelis and several non-Israeli Jews from the larger group and forced them into a separate room. Over the following two days, 148 non-Israeli hostages were released and flown out to Paris. 94, mainly Israeli, passengers along with the 12-member Air France crew, remained as hostages and were threatened with death.

The IDF acted on information provided by the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad. The hijackers threatened to kill the hostages if their prisoner release demands were not met. This threat led to the planning of the rescue operation. These plans included preparation for armed resistance from Ugandan military troops. Israeli firms were involved in building projects in Africa during the '60s and '70s and while preparing the raid the IDF erected a partial replica of the airport terminal with the assistance of civilians who had helped build the original.

You are the former United States Navy warship USS HOEL, now returned as a shipgirl and ready to kick Abyssal ass!

Currently, you've got four destroyers barreling down at you at full speed, big, eager, stupid smiles on their faces. You've already spent enough time with the other Fletchers to predict what was going to happen next, and you had enough foresight to sidestep right as they aim for their synchronized tackle hug. With their target suddenly gone, the four destroyers all slam into each other in midair and collapse to the ground in a heap.

"Damnit, ya twerps!" Phoenix groans as she somehow manages to pick up all four destroyers by the collar, two with each hand. "That's NOT how you greet newcomers!"

"AWWWWWWW." The destroyers groan. "But it's Hoel! One of Taffy 3!"

Geez, were you really that famous among destroyers?

Christ, they pretty much were Fletchers in every way!

"Sorry about that." Phoenix sighs apologetically. "These little devilspawn are Perkins, Hank, Borie, and Collett. They're very... energetic."

"Oh yeah, I'm sure they are." You nod.

Oh god if these destroyers were tagging along to the repair docks, they might not get along so well with San Fran and Portland...

Before you lies the City of The Golden Tower: Transcendia. The golden tower rises all the way up into the sky, with such majesty that it contests Sol for the Zenith, casting a shadow upon its own place in the world.

Behind you lie the armies of the Free Marches in combat with the Royal army. The Free Marches led by Mira, the Guisi slave that you'd freed so long ago and now a maiden of freedom that's become known as “The Red Viper.” You hear the roar of battle behind you as they fight in the open field, and yet you stand at the wall, touching the stone and hearing their voices chatter on about just how they'll keep you out.

“Sorry.” You say in Belinda's voice with her face, “We'll be flying.”

You reach for the endless bag of Fate's thread, pulling the red string that keeps it held shut. “Dramir, Chou Cullain!” You shout as their threads pour from the velvet bag, into each of your hands. Bringing the two faces together in a single swipe over Belinda's face, the three of you merge into one.

“Amalgus: Drellain!”
Your body morphs, warps in mere moments into the three way fusion of fates, the pinnacle of what you've been able to do upon your journeys thus far, yet there is no more time. The end is coming near... The star that Thespia dreads to see the most: Her first love, Nifl... When she sees him, the curse will repeat once more... And Avar won't be around this time to set up such a perfect circumstance.

Your body shifts into a vaguely feminine form with masculine musculature and flowing white hair that pours over your shoulders. Balancing the emotions of the three, you feel Free as the Sylvan wind, Passionate as Phoenician flame, and Wild as the Leviathan Ocean. Upon your back, water billows forth and then ignites into a steady stream, vague wings forming from the burning spray as you squat down.

(It's not a contest you brat. We're killing the King of Hylon Kings. This is where we see the next day!) The horns of the Guisi curl overhead and underneath your chin, the darkness of his altered form abated just at the frame of the Makoh marks.

(This may be our last dance. Let's burn brighter than ever!) The Namour's heart eyes shine with Makoh starbursts framing the pupil. The Burning wings changes into a pure blue blaze that burns in a single steady direction, scorching the earth.

“We fly.” You say as you jump off, blasting up into the heavens, swiftly converting your hands into burning jetss as well for more stability and power.

Twelve faces are with you. Twelve heroes, one from each Arche. One for each element of Thespia and the various threads of fate. At most you can combine three, yet it'll need to be enough. By Rava's own admission after Avar's death, they could at most perform a fusion of two, and even then it was barely stable. After they'd become Dramani to hide from the king, they could no longer maintain other faces as their empathy ran dry in those forms.

You close your eyes for a moment as tears flow down your face, spurred by your velocity and the wind's resistance.

Suddenly, you're shocked to find yourself suspended, the bricks in the Golden Tower no longer moving past your vision as you encounter a barrier that Rava had told you about in her brother's place...

“None are allowed to fly here by order of the Supreme One!” The wind howls as its galeforce whips up to blow you back towards the ground.

(To shreds I say! Rip them apart!)

(Slip through, we may become vapor.)

(Dance, dance, burn and dance!)

Well, for one thing, threats that your main deck can't deal with, or deals with poorly.

Is it something you make when you originally conceive your deck, knowing which cards you'll need to slot in and out? Or is it a case by case basis depending on the card being switched in (i.e. Creature for Creature, Instant for Instant, etc.)

You can find a brief overview on the story here: https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Imperium_asunder We're currently working on expanding the brief overview and making wiki pages for each Legion. All ideas are welcome, but not all ideas are good. Post your idea. If it's fresh, well thought out, and fits in with everything else, we'll welcome you with open arms. If it's derivative, redundant, or just plain boring, don't get upset when nobody likes it, just try again with a new idea.

Repost of idea for reworking Oramar
I'm thinking that the Warp Raiders are less specifically attempting to averting visions of the Emperor's death, but are obsessed with trying to decipher fragments of visions they see.
I'm thinking they have a very teleological view of the universe and believe in something akin to linear fate, looking for an absolute truth.
In their odyssey, they cross the edges of acceptability with xeno tech and warp entities and are called to account for it at Nikea, which is presented as a review of the Librarius to content a few anti psyker primarchs.
It's not and the legion is censured, but rather than standing down, they vanish into the warp and end up going in a pilgrimage and find the primordial truth.
That's when they understand their visions and fulfil their destiny and corrupt the warmaster.
They hold a grudge against the Sky Serpents for Nikea.

FoM here. Looking to do a few important things and each will need some input from everyone.

1- In the herasy all over the western imperium as the fists lose battle after battle trying to protect the forge worlds from sudden turnings of herateks and heretical legions the fists Marcus Sinistrum takes drastic action and orders the destruction of many of the resisting forge worlds, destroying them before they can be taken by the enemy. While i quite like this idea and feel it fits the grimdarkness of the 40k etc it does change up the universe a decent amount and so id like other input.

2-The battle for mars and the herasy. I think it would be good to have mars be more than just the home of the mechanicus, if because of the void dragon or perhaps an interplanetary artillery capable of firing or earth? my best idea is that the fists are attacked on mars before they can mobilize and are stopped from fighting on terra due to being held back by a traitor legion that at first tries to corrupt me then failing that attacks on that note i'd like to hear from any traitors that wish to take mars, specifically Gengrat Vannevar and his Behemoth Guard i feel would be good.

3-The fate of mars and the void dragon, this all really depends on point 2 but for the sake of my legions story mars ultimate fate is very important and depending what happens to mars the void dragon might very well be loose which is quite a big deal.

Why do so many RPGs seem to include next to nothing in terms of task difficulty examples?

This is a personal pet peeve for me, both as a GM and as a player.

How am I supposed to know if my task DC's make sense when there are almost no examples for the skill in question?

How do they expect other GM's to know? I often find myself given one DC for a task, and then that same GM gives someone else a completely different DC for the same task later on, because he's just making it up as he goes and can't remember the DC's he's used in the past.

Not to mention, there's next to no consistency in skill DC's from one GM to the next, because again, no damn guidelines.

I know there are some RPG devs here's,
>Anyone know why nobody seems to include a simple list/chart for each skill, so you can easily say "It's harder than this task, but easier than this one, so the DC should be in this narrow range."

Anybody ever addressed this issue in their home games?

Anybody have any other common RPG design decisions that they think are bad? If so, why do you think that?

Which RPG are you complaining about?

there are guidelines for difficulty, you need to know where to look. An example i remember is a DC 80 escape artist check in D&D is equvalent to a normal human fitting through a 2 inch wide opening. this was from an actual sourcebook too. just dont remember which.

Bounded accuracy in 5e is great for this.
>5 is simple
>10 is relatively easy
>15 is typical
>20 is hard
>25 is very hard
>30 is near impossible

I think shitty systems and dice pools are the only ones that make this hard.

Hello Force of Will faggots!

I'm personally an MTG player, and my store recently started carrying Force of Will. Just to get some info on it, I started looking at cards, just to get a glimpse of what the expensive ones are ((expensive == good, usually)), and I was just fucking floored. In MTG, there's atleast one $20 in every single set, there's always a money card. Every time. Without fail.

Pic related. What the hell is wrong with FoW that the prices are just this rediculously far off in each set?? (1/2)

To go from a $3.50 highest value card to $150? Why? What the actual fuck?

Your second pic is the FoW equivalent of full art foil dual lands, thats why they're so expensive.

Are there any evil deities that despise the undead in Forgotten Realms or D&D in general?

Bane is not fond of them, since they are the domain of his eternal rival/former adventuring buddy Myrkul.
