Happy to see the boys getting more screen time, but I don't know how I feel about Goulding writing it.

Fuck.
Think of a cringeworthy character concept. Describe it in a sentence. Respond to another anon's post, explaining how to take that concept and make it playable. Go.

Playable Races Thread
With all of the new races leaked today, what race are you most excited about?
Wtf is that thing in the picture?
It says Hobgoblin, but wtf.
>>50060428
What part is the mask and what part is her face? That said, she had a banging looking body for a hobgob
>>50060428
What's that you say? New races?
YOU'RE GODDAMN RIGHT THERE'S NEW RACES.

Can you still make an interesting campaign out of this? What's at stakes, if player characters are never in real danger?
You act as if death is the only "real danger."
You just put in different stakes.
Even in the videogame there are implications of insanity.
If they were all immortal, I'd have a way for death to take something away each time. Start out minor, but builds up.
Lots of jokes are made about gender changing magic, but has anyone actually seen it in a real game they have played?
>>50034138
Only once. One of the players had came out and started transition in the middle of a campaign that spanned a few years. The GM asked him if he wanted to change his character to a dude or if he maybe always wanted the character to be a dude in the first but just didn't feel comfortable with because he still presented as a woman when the campaign started. So yeah, what we reached at was the party wizard getting a magic transition potion instead of retconing anything.
>>50034212
*first place
I'm in a campaign where I'm playing a genderswapped faelock, mostly played for comedy. The whole thing was a result of fae tricksome mischief and is a constant source of amusement for the rest of the party- Possibly because he was never particularly masculine in the first place.
What happens in your setting when a god/goddess dies?
>>50039130
they shatter, and form either more, lesser Gods, or powerful, (sometime sentient) artifacts.
Well, there was this painter from Austria who found out god was dead and decided to start his own apocalypse. It didn't turn out very good for the Jews in the end.
>>50039130
The thing they were goes wild, until a new God rises. Can take days, weeks, years, decades, centuries.
God of Fire died way back when, civilisation collapsed overnight and had to rebuild from scratch, only really getting going when a new god of Fire finally rose five hundred years later.

Ok, so I'm interested in this game, specifically, in the OP image model.
What do I need to do to field it effectively, and what kind of army is Combined Arms?
>>50007915
>Ok, so I'm interested in this game, specifically, in the OP image model.
Good, Anathematic is a rape train.
>What do I need to do to field it effectively, and what kind of army is Combined Arms?
I don't actually know, I've never used one or seen one used. But from what I gather......
CA Vanilla (The only CA army who can use it) are a bit all over like most VAnilla armies. Since you take take literally anything from the faction it's more "What you want" and less "what you need". That being said bring a hacker+Engi because the worst thing that can happen once your big beastie pops out of camo is getting his ass shut down.
Hacker is a popular option because he has high WIP and EI hacking is fairly dastardly.
Also Sepsitor is pretty nasty and even though it's a bit of an investment he still packs plasma which is nice.
>>50008208
The second place at Interplanetary was a combined player and he used an Anathematic. He has about 14 orders iirc, including Datz, Unidrons, Ikadron, Dr Worm, etc.
Relatively new to Infinity, been playing a few games for the past month or so an have been rocking some Jesus loving, China hating, Military Order knights. As well as they have performed, I have been struggling against my buddies Nomad army, his hack happy shenanigans really fucks with my shiny armour and my only real defense against it is Fairy Dust and faith, but that only takes me so far. Been running teams of Sergeants and cutting down on the HI knights against him but what are some some good ways to deal with hacking in a very Heavy Infantry based army? Or even just tips for fighting Nomads?
>Create character with wife and son

>Make new character

>Create generic murderhobo with premise dead family
>The GM has their ghosts attack us three sessions in

>>50026909
>Son thrown out of the family for being monstrous (albino)
>hates family now
Easy.
>>50026909
Now see, this is why when I GM I never have an enemy flat-out kill a PC's family. I threaten, yeah, often subtly threaten. I've found it's more effective to have the evil cult start to seduce the paladin's daughter to their way of thought than to kill her off by fiat, or have the paladin's wife have recurring dreams of a sinister locale than to have her killed off by abhumans by fiat.
Killing PC's family and friends for cheap drama is just amateur hour. All it does is wast potential story hooks and discourage players from getting invested in the game world. Never kill off their loved ones unless they well and truly fucked up the chance to save them.
>>50026909
>I can't fucking win
Yes you can. You can find a different GM.
Do you think it's possible to legally play Pen and Paper games in prison, such as D&D?
Asking for reasons.
>>50056996
I think they used to be able to, but then someone actually paid attention and deemed it too 'violent'.
In some prisons, it's been banned for fostering "escape fantasies".
Something about gambling and encouraging gang behaviour.

Happy Kobold Edition
How do you feel about players playing as monster races? Personally, I love it, but I can understand why someone would want to disallow it.
>>50055211
I feel like monster races are typically leaning towards chaotic evil or neutral, a party of two kobolds a goblin and an Orc doesn't sound like a party that fits with the typical fight the evil guy to save something. I mean if you just play them as good natured that's fine but I really don't see that from these creatures.
It rubs me the wrong way.
>>50055211
>How do you feel about players playing as monster races?
But what *IS* a monster?
>>50055211
Really depends on the campaign.
Wouldn't allow it in stuff like Strahd or Lost Mines.
I'm running SKT right now with a Satyr (similar racials to wood elves with the charm tiefling variant magic) and I think it's fine.
I'm less okay with it if it breaks the tone of the game (hence not using them in Strahd) but considering SKT has stuff like pic related I'll allow pretty much anything.
You are dropped into the WotC version of D&D (novels, campaign books etc)
you have 100gp, what you are wearing and whatever knowledge you know about the setting
what do you do?
>>50053124
Train to be a blacksmith and take over the shop when the guy dies. Live a modest but comfortable life arming adventures to go off and become heroes/die.
Also, which setting were you talking about, kinda important. Greyhawk, Eberron, Forgotten Realms, Dragonlance?
>>50053124
I invoke the name of Pazuzu three times and ask for a lawful evil candle of invocation.
First, determine which plane I'm on.
Then I'd probably declare patronage and true faith to the strongest god of that plane. See if I can't become a cleric in their name. Use my 100 GP to buy my way into a wizard's apprenticeship otherwise.
From there, gather magical power, either divine or arcane, and use it to gather prestige, wealth, and further the cause of righteousness, as I know full well that the Blessed Fields of Elysium and the Nine Hells of Baator are real things, and I know which one I'd rather go to.
Is it possible to live in a bag of holding?
>>50046608
There's a limited air supply and puncturing the bag from inside or outside will result in you being "lost forever".
>>50046608
couldn't you just leave the bag open?
>>50046652
So snorkel?
What's the most dangerous enemy in your setting?
Me
>>50046434
The Patriarchy.
>>50048013
It must be if she's not wearing a hoodie and sweatpants to cover them titties. How dare a fictional character show skin, no matter what the context of their social position and ability is!
How do you like your cursed magical items?
Painful and annoying, but not debilitating enough to warrant a side-quest to remove the, without derailing the game for three sessions.
>>50030074
Hilarious, embarrassing, but with a benefit that's good enough that players are tempted to use them anyway.
>>50030074
Tempting and costly.
The best cursed items should be ones that don't require any kind of roll to be tempting. They prey on the players very real temptations of power. And if overused (or even just used in some cases) they should have real consequences for the players character.
