/tg/craft - a /tg/ community minecraft server
IP: tgcraft.lunas.host
Interactive map of the world with accurate coords: http://tgcraft.lunas.host/#map_myworld/0/0/200/-184/64
Discord server: https://discord.gg/XVffebx
/tg/craft is a minecraft server devoted to fostering a friendly enviroment to fantasy roleplay.
There are hostile mobs, and infernal mobs for those who want a proper challenge, but there are also custom recipes inbuilt which allow for things like string to be created without having to farm animals.
There is a brewery plugin which allows players to brew special drinks, for roleplay and for buffs.
There is a plugin which alters plant growth rate per biome, and disables underground farms (except for mushrooms).
Admins will create dungeons, which will hold BBEGs which must be defeated in order for adventurers to be capable of looting the ancient knowledge of spells and the arcane contained within - as well as some unique items created by RPGitems.
The current dungeon is the Accursed_Tower of the Necromancer, who is plotting to cause an eternal night and is frequently sending out his minions to harrass the living.
The server is currently in a 7 day no PVP grace period, which will last until friday the 28th, so the necromancer cannot be destroyed yet - the players must strive to prepare to face down this menace until grace ends.
General Rules:
1. No combat hacks.
2. No spamming, cringe, /pol/posting, memeposting or attentionwhoring.
3. No griefing, trolling, or abuse - light banter is fine, downright personal insults is not.
4. No alts.
War and RP related rules will be viewable by doing /rules inside the server itself, once they have been finished.

How do I go about finding where other people are on the map?
What happened to previous thread?

this I am curious about too. I'd like to see where I am located in the world.
Create and post horrifying monsters. These monsters should be pure nightmare fuel, they fuel paranoia, have body horror as a primary part of its existence, subvert and corrupt what is supposed to be innocent and pure or are horrifying in some other way. I'll open.
>The Atlach-Nachas most horrifying aspect is how this all-male species creates females to reproduce with. An Atlach-Nacha resembles a spider the size of a small dog. In order to reproduce, it must couple with a humanoid creature of approximately twice its size, attaching to the victims back, jamming its legs and fangs into them and injecting venom that renders the victim inert. Upon contact, the Atlach-Nacha will mutate the victim, who will grow extra limbs and grow in size to resemble a spider of inordinate size. The example picture is someone who is part way through the transformation. Notice how they still have a vaguely human face with its front most legs resembling the arm bones of a human. As this transformation progresses, the Atlach-Nacha will change as well, shrinking in stature and dissolving away until it is little more than an extremity that the victim uses to fertilize its eggs. Regardless of the original gender of the victim, a fully transformed one will be biologically female, capable of giving birth to egg sacks of offspring. These offspring can be controlled, most are giant spider-like creatures that come in two sizes, either the size of a man or the size of an ogre. They are sterile creatures, existing to serve and be directed by their mother. The rarest birth is another Atlach-Nacha which will find its victim to start the cycle anew. It is unknown how much of the victims original mind remains after the transformation is complete.

Children are taught to be weary when out in the woods on their own least they become the grisly ornaments for a Death Collector's tree.
Roughly twice the size of a Golden Eagle, Death Collectors are surprisingly inocuous creatures with their dull colouring of their feathers but their most striking feature tends to be their eyes, described by those who've survived encounters with them as black voids. Perhaps this is the source of the necromantic energies that possess them.
When a Death Collector finds a tree to roost in they will impale any creature they find on it's branches. Over time the blood and viscera of the corpses and the linger spirits will cause the tree to transform forming long ridged spikes to better hold the bodies onto. Some speak of even seeing the faces of it's victims in the bark. For whatever reason the Death Collector seems to favor children partly because they are easier to subdue and impale.
If left to it's own devices Death Collectors can cause whole swathes of a forest to become charnel ground were life is denied. However, even when killed it's taint can remain for years and it's even rumored that they never truly die themselves.

Traveller is a classic science fiction system first released in 1976. In its original release it was a general purpose SF system, but a setting was soon developed called The Third Imperium, based on classic space opera tropes of the 60s, 70s, and 80s, with a slight noir tint.
Though it can support a wide range of game types, the classic campaign involves a group of retired veterans tooling around in a spaceship, taking whatever jobs they can find in a desperate bid to stay in business, a la Firefly or Cowboy Bebop.

So what have you guys been doing? I'm currently poking at a "Brief Intro to Classic Traveller" text to go in the archive, like a quick overview of the various editions of Classic and rules modules out there for it, since there's so much stuff it can be daunting when you first look at it.
It's an idea I've had floating about for a while, but I figured tonight I'd sit down and start going over the various books and taking notes for it.
I'll post a draft when I think I've got most everything.
>>49895265
I'm preparing to run my first Traveler game for a bunch of strangers at my FLGS. I'm planning on setting it in the Gvurrdon sector, starting out in the Rrouzasun system and using that as a base of operations for the players. I think I'm almost ready, but I'm still deciding on whether I want to stick with MgT 1e or 2e. I love everything about 1e's books: how small and efficient they are, how they look, the feel of the pages, the COST.
Yet I can't deny how accessible 2e is to new players, what with its pretty pictures and simplified tables and options. Plus, I think the boon/bane system is a neat idea. I also wonder how 2e's career term tables stack up next to 1e's.
Archive updates: Cepheus Engine is getting moved from the Classic Traveller folder to the MGT folder. That review I read that said it was based on Classic was mistaken -- reading it it's obviously MGT1e based, and google says it was based on the MGT1 SRD, with some tweaks to be more compatible with Classic material.
I'm also adding some third party deck plans that are compatible with Traveller and some other SF wargames, under General Misc/Holistic.
By whatever mystic forces control this sort of thing, I summon thee writefags. The Storythread is back, and it requires your attention.
If you have /tg/ related stories to post, post them here, and hopefully some kind anon will give you feedback (or at least acknowledge that someone did actually read it, which let's face it is what writefags really want).
If you don't have a story ready then I and other anons will be posting pictures throughout the thread for you to test your writing skills on. This is, more or less, a world-building and character-building exercise: two vital skills for playing roleplaying games. If you don't have any pics to post, you could try posting an idea for a setting or a character, and maybe someone will be willing to write a story using it. It's also an exercise in writing though, where writefags can try out their material and gain inspiration, so if you just want to talk about world-building save it for the world-building threads.
Remember that writefags love to have feedback on their work. Writing takes a long time, especially stories that go over several posts, and it can be really depressing when no one even seems to read it (and the writer won't know you read it unless you leave a comment).
And since writing takes a long time remember to keep the thread bumped. Pics are good, feedback is better.
The previous thread is still in the archive here

"Playable kobolds are confirmed" edition.
Will you allow new races from Volo's guide to monsters? Will your DM allow them? I know for a fact, for example, that my DM will not allow anyone to play the new races except for, maybe, orcs.
>>50065316
Your DM is a faggot, who can't think past his wannabe-Tolkien setting.
>>50065395
Except he isn't, since they're evil races. They might not fit in to the theme, party etc.
I don't get why so many people were surprised at the inclusion of yuan-ti pureblood as playable. They've had a big presence in the promotion for VGM and in the miniatures set of SKT. I even predicted it in the /5eg/ a couple days ago. Yes, they're evil, I know, but so are orcs, (hob)goblins, kobods.

I guess I'd allow them, if the player had a good backstory that explains why the character wants to work with the party, and the player is prepared to be greeted with suspicion, fear and basically just have disadvantage on social rolls. Also, probably no more than 1 per party, don't want to turn it into a freakshow.
Unless we're doing an evil campaign.

I decided to ditch the party's shenanigans for one day and bone a wizard's university's librarian and the entire party just about died while I was out with her.
they're still mad at me.
It led to a character/npc romance that led to her giving us a good amount of help and resources in the form of giant insect abominations like swarms of incendiary bees.
>>50061346
when my DM pissed me one day i helped myself out by getting laid and not complaining on /tg/ once?
What series is /tg/ currently watching/reading/listening to?
I'm in need of some decent /tg/-related media, whether it's anime, manga, western cartoons, webcomics, podcasts, TV shows etc.
I've already gone through the wiki's recommended pages (which are in sore need of review and contributions from modern /tg/), and I'm still left wanting.
>>50042724
Helk?
KonoSuba is pretty great.
I liked Overlord but I understand it has a pretty mixed reception.
Have you watched Wakfu? If not, go watch Wakfu. Then watch Dofus if you want a little more of that.
If you're looking for sci-fi, there's always Legends of the Galactic Heroes. That'll keep you busy for a while.
If you don't want something that extreme, go watch Space Battleship Yamato. The original, not 2199.

As it's Halloween I gotta mention Over the Garden Wall. Little under 2 hours of your time and worth every minute.
Well, it's Halloween, and I feel it's time for a good ol' fashioned Night Shift thread.
For those who do not know, Night Shift is a setting /tg/ made a few years back in which the PCs are gas station attendants working the night shift, a time where the magical and the mundane intermingle. More information can be found here: https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Night_Shift
Discuss ideas for events and characters, preferrably something not yet mentioned in past threads.

SPOOPY EDITION
This theme really works well with the /srg/ intro.
>Mr Johnson hires you to steal a prototype in a AA corp lab.
>He provides extensive equipment, some pass-codes for the outside security, and a detailed plan of the building, highlighting an escape route through the sewers.
>The run goes smoothly, all intel checks out
>Security is aggressive but not to the point of damaging the building, they mostly use stun weapons and gas.
>When you drop down in the sewers, security stops chasing you
>The hatch seals shut behind you
>As you hear a snarl down the tunnels, you notice sensors and security equipment that's not on the plans.
>Actually the plans don't look like anything that's down there.
>You stumble upon the gnawed bones of metahumans, and realize that the sewers have been converted into a containment area for some sort of paracritter>Mr Johnson actually works for the AA corps, they know that the sewers makes an ideal escape route for runners. They decided to plug the leak, and use the opportunity to test their latest combat critters.
Have you ever done a spooky run?
Do you chummers remember if 5e had the Quality that let Mundanes astrally perceive ?
How do we make the old 'Rats in the Basement' story more interesting?
>>50032926
By putting the Rats in the Walls
Basement hatch has been locked shut from the inside, party has to use a potion to shrink down between the floor boards and fight the rats on equal ground.
>>50032926
Rats in a basement are a symptom.
They were driven out of the sewer into the basement.
The trail leads to that place, where they fled and the real threat lies.

Tuning up turbofog. It's fucking fun. I love playing against decks like Jund or infect because all my cards are redundant to Jund so their hand disruption doesn't matter. A guy once ulted Liliana on me 5 times in one game and I just kept being a fog machine. Infect is great because I just fog until I find removal or a wrath and more fogs
