Old and Wild West art, tokens, and maps for RPGs. Steampunk or nonsteampunk, doesn't matter.

Generally OP, it is considered customary to post some pictures of your own to get the thread going. However since this pertains especially to my campaign, I will attempt to resurrect your stillborn thread.

It's been a long time, and I don't see the original OP coming back soon, so let's keep rolling the crew of the Free Trader Carrhae.
Our current crew consists of:

First of all, let's roll 1d2 for gender. 1 is male, 2 is female.
Rolled 2 (1d2)

Alright, our first female crew member. Roll 2d6 to determine STR, DEX, END, INT, EDU, and SOC.
Rolled 3, 1, 1, 3, 1, 4, 5, 1, 4, 6, 2, 5 = 36 (12d6)

Take a trip through time with me, /tg/. Let's go back, way back, to a time when flannel and Doc Martins weren't just for lesbians, Clintons were electable, and Magic Cards were ugly and confusing.
In this thread, we take newer Magic Cards and re-imagine them in the style of cards from the early 90's. Make your own or post ones you've found. The more obtuse the art and murky the wording the better!

So I just had a talk with a dude who used to work at Paizo, the guys who make Pathfinder and he told me some lulzy shit. Gonna copypasta some of it for posterity
"But back then Lisa Stevens hired MMO developer Ryan Dancey to develop the Pathfinder MMO, in spite of Dancey's horrible track record with games. This was a purely personal move because they're old friends. It's one of many bad decisions that basically led to the state Paizo is now in and why I left.
Pathfinder Online was developed by the independently owned (but Paizo-backed) company Goblinworks, and Paizo invested a VERY substantial sum of money in the company. Way too much.
So as a result of this investment, there were no bonuses allotted to salaried employees that year. I wouldn't be surprise if they're still denying everyone their bonuses.
Goblinworks failed to deliver the promised product and, in spite of months of us trying to warn upper management that Pathfinder Online was fucked, the plug wasn't pulled on Goblinworks until the 11th fucking hour, way past the point of being able to salvage the company. By this point Paizo pumped so much money into Goblinworks that they were entering financial dire straits. The Goblinworks folks tried but Paizo just gave the fuck up, which I can't blame them for. It's way too little too late.
Paizo became so short on finances that they were unable to maintain the development of the VTT software or essential upgrades to their proprietary forum/store back-end.
I heard that since my departure Paizo's started to intentionally delay payment of contractors (artists and freelance writers) in order to juggle financial burdens from month to month in a pretty blatant breach of contract.
Nah man I've heard some of the last she shit is thousands of dollars per contractor. Some past-due payments wouldn't even be delivered if the contractor "didn't notice" and as a result some payments were out more than a year because folks didn't notice they were getting fucked.
Oh and get this. Following a change in the way salaried employees hours are tracked in Washington State, with regards to overtime hours, Paizo cut salaried employees hours down and assigned them additional contracted "freelance" work to make up the dividend. Paizo employees often work 12 hour days (or more), for an average of $35,000 annually with few benefits. And that's on the high end of salary.
Not counting Erik, Lisa and Vic
Pathfinder product lines are a constant juggling of resources. This is what culminated in the decision to develop the 2nd Edition of the Pathfinder RPG I mentioned before
Pathfinder v2 (or the Revised Edition of the Pathfinder RPG) development started in-house a while back and substantial resources are allocated from other departments (normally handling campaign setting, player companion, and other product lines.)
Increased financial burdens meant that no additional staff could be hired, obviously, meaning salaried employees were effectively working double shift to meet project deadlines. It's almost like in other games companies isn't it?
After I left Paizo it was pretty clear their diminished revenue lead to an increased reliance on licensed products (comics, novels, audiobooks, teleplays, etc). Starfinder RPG looks and sounds like a pretty blatant marketing scheme for licensing. I'd bet Pathfinder 2 either became Starfinder or Starfinder is a stealth beta for what they were working on with PF2.
There's so many other glaring problems I could mention like the GenCon industry insider fiasco which blew me away when I heard a it it. But, frankly, I'm tired of it. "
>>50198729
I've heard it from good sources that Paizo was behind 9/11 AND the JFK assassination. It's because they're all SJWs at Paizo.
True story.
Fuck, I kinda like PF. Too bad to hear they put all their money down the drain for nothing
I painted my Ork figurines in purple and now I can't find them.
Where could they be?

muckin' about

Just don't go to sleep before you find them.

Halfway to Armageddon by now.
The best system to run a Soul Eater campaign in?
It'd need skills higher than realistic but nothing too god-like, with leveling
Special abilities that can optionally give more power to an action (with a trade-off) but don't ultimately become the heart and soul of a build
Needs to be fun and viable with most or all PCs running non-magic
Highly customizable characters and weapons
Mechanically engaging game-play that emphasizes team-work and discussion but preferably not terribly crunchy
My plan was to have each player take control of a Meister and Weapon duo but if there are systems where two players control different aspects of the same fighter I'd hella like to take a look at that
Maybe with stats that could be read as physical or social traits, that could be rolled in combative or interpersonal scenarios? (Balance, Aggression, Cunning, etc.)

Help a fellow DM out.
So I've got this player in my 5th edition game, Character name Jun. He's a 11th level Tempest cleric / Open hand monk multiclass (5/6 level split respectively) and he basically dominates the party with his speed and massive amount of DPS. He's got stupid good stats and the cleric spells don't help either.
The current BBEG of the campaign is tied closely to his backstory, and I basically want to make him tailored to fuck Jun up specifically. (The rest of the party will be otherwise preoccupied so they're not an issue)
Since It will come down to a 1v1 fight with the monk, how should I build him for maximum effectiveness?
Cut his hands off.
>>50197115
I thought about some kind of permanent debuff.. BBEG is a complete asshole like that, but the player of the monk would probably bitch up a storm
>>50197148
Because he built his character well. And is playing intelligently you honestly think that giving him a permanent debuff just for that is a good thing? If you're going to challenge him make it fair, don't just throw bullshit at you players. Also cutting his hands off is retarded, unless he can get them back somehow. Taking away his hands away would seem like a petulant DM removing player agency.
Quick /tg/! I need names for mercenary companies and the reason for their name!
Real, fake, from ficiton or your imagination, sci-fi or fantasy, doesn't matter!
>The Blades of Dawn
Known for their siege-breaking, famously on the day before the besieged were to surrender
>The 4 Strikes
Each new recruit must learn the martial art of this company, which includes the eponymous secret technique, which guarantees the death of the victim
>The Crown Takers
So named as they work exclusively for revolutionaries, though the method to contact them is unknown
>The Red Gorgons
Hailing originally from Mars, each member is subjected to ritual disfigurement upon recruitment
it's unlikely you'll come up with something better than these guys
>>50196491
The Bad Weather Balloons. They are called so because their favorite fighting tactic is to inflate themselves with Helium, Float over their target, and harrass them with a bombardment of falling hand-grenades.
>>50196491
>The Penis-Stabbers
Feared on every battlefield for their precision strikes to vital organs.
>The Beheaders
Northern axemen who wear the shrunken heads of their fallen enemies on their shoulders.
So I caught some of you saying that 'Druids defend nature from the cultured races' or something along that line, and I feel the need to correct this point;
>Druids defend YOU, FROM the forest.
Anyone who goes into a forest that has no druid in it, is an idiot and will get his genitals eaten by blood-fairies.
>>50194579
So I caught some of you saying that 'Demons defend the abyss from the devilish races' or something along that line, and I feel the need to correct this point;
>Demons defend YOU, FROM the abyss.
Anyone who goes into a layer of the abyss that has no demon in it, is an idiot and will get his genitals eaten by glabrezus.
So I caught some of you saying that 'drow defend the underdark from the surface races' or something along that line, and I feel the need to correct this point;
>Demons defend YOU, FROM the underdark.
Anyone who goes into a layer of the underdark that has no drow in it, is an idiot and will get his genitals eaten by a drider.

In the Othos cluser, a dual star system lies the barren and airless moon of Zenon in arbit around a small gas giant called the "Eye of Othos".
The planet wasn't colonized by Imperium, but sometime during the Dark Age of Technology humans built a massive orbital spire for reasons lost in time. But at the height of the God Emperors great crusade the planet was found by an explorator fleet, with no signs of human life on the moon. The resettlement of Zenon was postponed due the Horus Heresy.
It would take until M31, after the Horus Heresy that the planet would be colonized by the Imperium of man. The settlers started to build what would become the foundations of the early hives on Zenon.
Zenon would be the staging points and resupply depo for many Imperial fleets and trading ships due to the use of the orbital spire that has recived the name "The Spire of Stars" as it at several times a year stand directly infront of the dual stars. The spire has made Zenon grow even faster, and by the year M36 the entire northern hemisphere was covered in urban areas; everything from hive spires, manufactorum compunds, maglev tracks, and hab blocks.
At the end of M36 the Omega Marauders space marine chapter made the top of the spire their new HQ in order to protect the planet and the neighbouring sectors.
Every decade inside the giant spire the space marines will hold a parade for the people to show them that the God Emperor of Mankind and Roboute Guilliman watches over them and to show them that the Imperium of Man is here to stay.
When it comes to Imperial tithe, Zenon will send of men and women to the Astra Militarum along with large quantities of Tungsten and Iron mined from deep into the moon to supply the Forges of the Adeptus Mechanicus

How long would the Spathi last in the 40k universe?
very, very long.
They would be the only thing in the setting with enough sense to run away.
>>50190426
Yeah, pretty much this. Otherwise, they'd be picked apart quite easily.
If they ever had Psykers, I can see them setting up the same way humans did, only much worse. Other than that, he's got the right idea.
Better question though - provided they're at their best, how'd the title fuckers fare?
>>50192980
That depends. Do the Kohr-Ah exist?
I'm looking for an RPG that can handle an adventure/sci-fi game with a similar feel to Valerian Flash Gordon, and Star Wars. Something that won't get bogged down in long combats and doesn't discourage people from taking crazy, heroic risks to get themselves out of tight spots. I'm curious to see what's out there, as most of my experience is with D&D. And D&D doesn't really work with what I'm looking for.
If your doing space battles, I'd suggest Mecton Zeta. It's really rules light and has great ship/mech creation rules. The class system sucks, and leveling up is silly, but it's really dynamic and fun.
I really can't stress how good the space combat is though. Even if you use a different system for the RPG elements, I'd still suggest reading Mecton Zeta for stuff.
>>50189681
I use Traveller for most SF stuff, but for that, you'd be better off with something less gritty. Maybe Greg Stolze's inSpaaace!
>>50190144
I'll try and check out "inSpaaace!" Thanks for the suggestion.
>>50189756
I feel like Mektzon Zeta isn't really "rules light." It may be that way in practice, but looking over the rules it seems pretty crunchy.
The elves or their equivalent in your campaign setting are replaced with protoss.
What happens?
>>50189103
>trying to restart this shitty meme
>>50189103
They can no longer scream for help as we rape them. Elf rape skyrockets.
>>50189122
Ho do you rape that which has no holes?
How many of the problems in your setting have been caused by wizards fucking around?
None that anyone can prove, but probably all of them
it happens quite often, so people just treat like any other mishap
thankfully there are jsut as many good/competent wizards as there are bad, so there is no shortage of people to clean things up
>"oh its the darn wizards again, better call some guards"
>>50188561
Quit a lot of them, there was even a magical wizard war/apocalypse in fact.
Super secret: it was actually set up by outside forces. Just according to keikaku!
