1. We pick four historical/geographical settings that aren't normally treated by fantasy worlds.
2. We try to build a setting based on a continent where these are the four countries/nations/cultures in existence and the interactions between them.Why four? I was just going through the motions, because no one else held any real interest from the start of the first session. I got worn down fast by being the only one that cared.
Then I left, they brought in a new player, and even before the new guy started to play they'd rekindled the fun.

Big fan of Cultivate. It ramps, ensures a land drop for this/ the next turn, and thins the deck. 2 mana would be too good, 4 wouldn't be good enough. Shoutout to Kodama's Reach for being strictly (if only slightly) better. Splice onto Arcane is a cool mechanic that I hope gets some support in the future.

Phyrexian Arena might be my all-time favorite card. It encapsulates the philosophy of Black perfectly: power for a price. I also like that its cost is heavy on Black, as Black demands devotion and doesn't like to play with others.

Newbie here, I want to work on building a merc company starting from the lance I usually deploy, do I have to use particular rules for the 3 lances to choose?
So far I'm thinking about something like 2 mech lances + a combined arms "lance", using common mechs and vehicles who can keep up with the times
I need a bit of help for filling the "army list"

A guy with a blackhead on his forehead the size of a dime. Crybaby That Guy who whined when he took damage. Any damage at all. Smelled. Been noodling around with Dragon Forest. Development has slowed down since I'm visiting family and getting ready to move to China. I'm hoping to start working on that next rewrite as soon as I'm settled into my new job.
It's a university position, so I should have time to work during my office hours.
A couple of issues I'm trying to work out:
1) How to incorporate the major arcana into my card-based mechanics
2) The character class roster
I finally put my S.T.A.L.K.E.R RPG into a coherent form.
I have a special difficulty system that lets players vote at the start for different levels of point buy, starting money and action points, but the easier it is the less wishes the center of the Zone grants according to the legend. Do you think this would be a good enough motivation for the players ro choose a higher difficulty?

I don't think so, difficulty in my opinion goes along with tone in any game, so it should not have any pre-defined rewards or setbacks...the players will choose whether to play an hard/survival or an epic/easy quest according to what kind of game they want to play and not the "reward" their characters would get...

Major Arcana are "hard" to implement as a system mechanic, I believe the better way would be giving story and/or mechanic "modifiers" based on a given card...a card representing death could be used to increase damage taken/done, or even cause death due to tragedy/sickness until resolved (once it delievered enough death for instance)
-I'm against hard-class systems, but an easy way to work it out is to see the main roles to be played and create a few basic classes, and then work on their variations/mixes
