so guys what's going on currently with fb, end times and scub? is gw still hell bent on going retard?
17 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
since you made your own thread instead of shitting up the aosg, I'll answer

Warhammer Fantasy Battles wasn't selling at all. GW had to change something because it was making next to nothing. So they did. Of course, Kirby did it in the most hamhanded way possible, because he is Kirby.

Then Kirby got demoted and Based Roundtree was put in his place. He immediately started offering bundle deals with actual savings. Then he put in place a marketing team that actually does a good job and works with social media. Then he released The General's Handbook, which improved Age of Sigmar by 100000%. Then he brought back Blood Bowl. Meanwhile the whole year had a lot of sweet 40k releases that people really liked (Thousand Sons, Burning of Prospero, Genestealer Cults, Deathwatch...)

So no, GW is not still hell bent on being retarded thanks to a senior leadership change.

Warhammer Fantasy is gone, but it wasn't moving product anyway. Age of Sigmar is actually fun, if you give it a chance and use The General's Handbook. Lots of derpy 40k players and salty WFB players still bash on Age of Sigmar for no reason, but they will do that forever.

40k rules are still a clusterfuck, but it moves product anyway. If GW touches the 40k core rules there will be crying and screaming and whining on a unprecedented scale.

In Age of Sigmar, no armies were "squatted" regardless of what the WFB general says. Some armies are no longer on sale, but they have rules available and may be played anyway, if you can get the models.

>is gw still hell bent on going retard?
Pretty much. You are better off just playing an older version of FB or switching to a game that isn't made by morons.
>>

found the salty wfb player

it is the WFB community's fault their game died off. If they were less cancerous and actually bought stuff, encouraged new players, etc, things never would have went like they did.

Can't agree on DMPC. This is the DMPC. Complete with obnoxious escort mission and "if you tick me off you all die" thing going on.
Paladin is that one contrarian guy who rolled LG character for Evil campaign (and would have rolled CE for Good one.)

Also you forgot that one guy who only showed up for the first session and then we had to have his character die off screen.

Now, after I stopped playing and 8 years later, I realize that the Imperial Guard is so much cooler.

The pure idea of normal humans fighting against H.R Giger aliens, Orks, Demons and technologically advanced space japs and somehow holding their grounds is the best.

Reading about Spess Mehreens winning isn't really exciting, because it's kind of the expected outcome in fluff. But the rare occasions in which the Imperial Guard is grinding out a victory by itself? Amazing.

I used to love their un-inked precision d10s. But I recently went looking for more, and it seems impossible to find them in any large quantity at a reasonable price anymore.

Is GameScience dead? Is there anywhere else to get decent, un-inked dice now?

You're looking at old stock that was bought up by 3rd party resellers then relisted at 2-4x the original price. Happened when Gamescience "died" the first time.

It never "died", it just switched owners, then switched back to the original guy.

Production is slowly coming back for different colors.

Repost to make sure it gets read: Unrelated, but I've always wanted to see a Scooby Doo "villain" who wasn't doing anything illegal or even morally reprehensible, he was just dressing up as a monster to keep people away from the treasure he was digging up, which he was legally entitled to and just didn't want anyone to steal it from him.

What would the tabletop RPG version of Sword Art Online, in all its cringey glory, be like?

No, not an RPG based on Sword Art Online though that could be funny too, maybe to contrast that Log Horizon tabletop, but a light novel, manga, and anime series about being trapped in a tabletop RPG, with the same kind of chuunibyou protagonist.

In your next game, your PCs are Mars-Corp. employees or civilians who live and work at the "problematic" Way Station #3 along the dusty old Trans-Martian Highway.

Built in Mars-Corp,'s early days on the Red Planet, the Highway and Way Stations are rundown and antiquated but are still seen as a necessary lifeline between Colonies.

The Way Stations are relatively small outposts of about half-a-dozen levels both above and below ground, with vehicle bays, highway maintenance facilities, a food court, a clinic, a communications and weather center and lodging for employees and visitors.

The Highway and Way Stations have become the subjects of a great many Martian myths, but no one station has had as many of these urban legends attributed to it as Station #3.

>Should a fantasy world follow consistent physical laws or should it be as fantastical as magic allows it to be?
Consistent physical laws if you're trying to make a believable story out of it, without relying on Ex Machina or general asspulls. Same reason you have a well-defined magic system.

>Interspecies mating: does it result in babies?
Uplifted races (Dwarves/Halflings): no, Human + Elves or Beastmen: yes, Beastmen amongst themselves: yes.

I would like to renew discussion from the previous thread regarding the science fiction applications of a portal technology. So far we've determined its useful for unlimited energy, interstellar space travel, and coolant venting.

Previous posters have suggested applications in directed energy weapons and man-portable railguns, but I don't see how the recoil problem is solved in railguns, nor what advantage DEWs have over bullets. I'm not arguing against that- I just don't see the applications yet.

My original post detailing the technology is here:

What the fuck is a spell level? In the context of DnD what are the differences between spell levels? Are they entirely arbitrary or is there an invisible scale of power I am unaware of?

Basically; by what measure is a 2nd level spell more powerful then a 1st level spell? What metric is used to determine this?
10 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
It's relative power scaling. Not 100% perfect so you might find 2nd level spell that's actually more potent than 3rd level spell but generally the higher the level the more potent the spell.

>What metric is used to determine this?
Either there's some complex formula or game makers just eyeball it.
>>
>>50765036

Basically they measure the difficulty to resist spells, since the save DC is tied to the spell level. Not so in 5e, I think, but I've never played it.
>>
Since most spells don't really have comparable effects (How do you measure the difference between a spell that animates a rope and a spell that lets you talk to animals?), game designers mostly eyeball the relative difference in power and sometimes things like difficulty to cast.
