Traveller is a classic science fiction system first released in 1976. In its original release it was a general purpose SF system, but a setting was soon developed called The Third Imperium, based on classic space opera tropes of the 60s, 70s, and 80s, with a slight noir tint.
Though it can support a wide range of game types, the classic campaign involves a group of retired veterans tooling around in a spaceship, taking whatever jobs they can find in a desperate bid to stay in business, a la Firefly or Cowboy Bebop.

So, I'm running several campaigns where I'm teaching new players how to play D&D, and I've noticed that a solid two thirds of the players first characters are elves or half elves. I was lamenting all these elf fags like a loyal neckbeard, when I realized my first character was an elf too.
Perplexed, I asked my brother, and HIS first character was a half elf as well.
So, what is it with new players and elves?

I got a whole bunch of Rage cards for $10. It seemed like one of the better games from the mid-90s CCG glut and I've always been curious. I've put together three decks with some guidance from online rulebooks and guides but haven't really gotten to play a game yet.
Anyone here play Rage before or even currently? What's the general opinion on it?

My goto fantasy skirmish is Song of Blades and Heroes, but it may not be what you are looking for, as SoBaH is very simplistic, but very flexible.

SoBaH really has no figures. It's one of those systems where you can use whatever figures, and you create their stats yourself. I like it because I can use the minis I have and get into some narrative scenarios. The books are cheap on amazon or their homepage. Here is an older version PDF, but it gives you an idea how the game plays. Again it's very simple, but it works for fantasy and with small skirmishers. It's a pretty fast and fun little game.

If Space Marines and other races had stats that looked more like their book portrayed them, what would they be? You can go higher than T7 and AV14. And saves on a d8, d10, etc

Well I think just as it is on tabletop you'd just base it all around the stats of a tactical marine (who's new stats would have to be agreed on). Probably need to have higher value limits too.
