I think that everybody, deep down, is aware that arguing on this website, or on the internet in general, is a complete and total waste of time. No minds are ever changed, that's for sure. Like you said, though, the very act of being on here is a waste of time, so what's the difference if you're arguing, posting, or lurking? It's something to pass the time, at the end of the day, and keeps your mind engaged in something.

Honestly, for me, I feel like internet interaction with people keeps me sane, as I substitute it for personal interaction, being a shut-in who finds personal interaction extremely tiring.

I'm a shut in as well, I go for a night walk occasionally and the local dunkin donuts is packed to the brim with homeless people, it was nothing like this a few years ago, wtf is happening?

I just don't like being in a zero hours situation. I never know whether there'll be work, when or how much. It means I can't plan or do much of anything.
