What camera messenger bag do you peeps recommend? I don't need something gigantic or super fancy, just something I can carry 2-3 lenses in and have them easily accessible. I'm using my backpack right now and it's a hassle to get into it and change lenses on the fly if I only need to carry a small amount of gear when I'm out shooting.
what ever size domke you need
the bag with the highest rating on Aliexpress/gearbest

Domke J-803, F-803, F-802 should be good for this, and they'll last. Lots of pockets for random accessories.
How can you tell where the focus is on a photograph? Is it the clearest, sharpest area? Sometimes it's hard for me to tell.
Second question: For portraits, if the focus isn't on the eyes- but the eyes are still clear, is it a trash photo? Let's say the focus was on the Left or right side of her hair next to her face, etc..
Thanks in advance!!
>>3087063
>Is it the clearest, sharpest area?
That's the area which is in focus. It might not be the focal point of the photo.
>For portraits, if the focus isn't on the eyes- but the eyes are still clear, is it a trash photo?
Hell no. It's either a good photo or a bad one.
>>3087063
You forgot to focus at all.
>>3087132
Ummm Isn't the focal point the clearest and sharpest portion of the photo
War photo thread.
Also: Can someone indentify the cameras the guy in the pic is using?
>>3086126
Sony A6500
>>3086126
Vietnam so every SLR is a Nikon F and every Rangefinder is a Leica M3.
>>3086130
Pretty much this.
Which one is better in your opinion, /p/? And why is that?
I shoot with both. Why choose?
*shrug*
>>3085959
No preference at all?
>>3085962
I like the way greens render more with 400H, but Portra 400 is a tad sharper. Both are easy to scan, too.
Do you consider yourself to be a photographer?
I barely make any actual money off of it, so I just call myself a photo hobbyist. A man who woodworks for a hobby and occasionally sells a carved bear wouldn't call himself a carpenter.
>>3085220
What if you get published (e.g. in some hipster IG-based magazine), or have a showing in a gallery, but don't make any money off of it? Would this person be considered a photographer, or a hobbyist?
i dont like the "photographer" tag, sounds like a limited cuck aka. those that do sets for models and weddings. i like better the "artist" tag.
Why do you guys hate Micro 4/3? Is it solely "b-but muh sensor size" or is there more to it?
>>3078705
Cool straw, man. I don't hate it, I even think it's nice for being truly compact, unlike meme Sony cameras with DSLR sized lenses on their "compact" bodies.
>>3078705
It's okay for video but far from ideal due to the limitations on the maximum resolvable resolution projecting onto a smaller m4/3 sensor
>>3078705
Sensor is very limiting
Format is dying
Once it is dead all the lenses become worthless
Overpriced
No smaller than sony/fuji cams with proper sensors
There's no reason to use m43 unless you already own it.
You know the drill, post your recent photos taken.

....The person being the main subject of the photo. Let's say the focal point was a little to the left or the right side of the persons shoulder but the face wasn't blurry, by all means the face is clear, but just not sharp as it would had it been the focal point of the photo. In other words, their face is softer focus than whatever the focal point was but still sharp enough to where you can see the pores on the face.
Opinions?

You're wrong. I think I know what you are referring to and this is not that. And you can just answer the question instead.
Does sage still works?
That girl has no ass. It makes me sad.
I've shared this photo a few places and gotten good responses. I think it's a fine photo, but not as good as some of my other work. Maybe you can tell me why this photo works?
T-max 100 4x5. Calumet monorail with a 150mm f/4.5 Lens. Developed in Diafine in a B&W King Tank. Scanned with an Epson V700.

Or it's just as mediocre as the rest of the shots, but just makes you hungry for KFC.
I mean large format can make dog turds breathtaking. Good exposure and pose but her expression is goofy.

Just made my first big camera purchase for filming purposes/college. Drop some tips for me if you have any experience shooting with the a6300 or any a series model cameras. Also recommend start off wide angle/zoom lenses to purchase

How friendly is this board? I was hoping for someone could give me advice on how to get started. My camera is somewhat basic compared to the ones I'm sure many of you have I just wanted a few tips and some good ideas to get started. I'm usually more prone to take pictures of scenery than of people.

Very unfriendly. That's why it's almost dead.

You didnt need all of it.
or a photographer that shoots models in general, not necessarily for fashion stuff, I like working with and taking pictures of other people in general
I collaborate with a guy that is/has a photography agency, doing mainly motorsports but also school yearbooks and real estate, I have experience using cameras, I've shot a lot of things for my own enjoyment and some for work, I know how to setup lights and I'm overall confident I'd be able to produce good pictures
how would I go about shooting models, making me a portfolio, who would I show a portfolio, who would I sell the pictures?
I've done some test shoots with friends (who didn't have a clue how to model) and I've gotten some, if a little, usable shots, pic related is an example of me fucking with lights that I think came out decent
should I go to some other (female, more attractive) friends and show them some pics I've took and ask them "hey wanna model for me?" or what?
I really have no clue so I'd appreciate some inputs, thanks a lot.

it's easy, you just need to follow these steps:
1) be a fag
2) buy a canon or a Sony
3) ask your slutty female and gay friend to take their pic
4) you're already a fashion tog. now charge for it

My father abused me as a child, he was a science teacher at my high school and seemed pretty upstanding. On fridays he would make me wait till the end of the day, come to his classroom and then he'd touch me and put himself inside me.
One Friday there was a colleague of his too, he was part of the science faculty also. I've blocked out most of that part of my life, but I remember the smell of the other teacher, he was disgusting, like he hadn't showered in weeks.
He and my father took turns abusing me. The third time this happened, during the abuse, both of my abusers kept calling my their 'Little Electron' because they loved to share me. This was ongoing every friday until I graduated.
This photo is worse than that.

I contracted HIV last week, but seeing this photo actually makes me feel like the luckier one.
You can transform an average or below average photo (bad lighting, flat/no selective blur, even cropping can make a difference, etc.) into an otherwise exceptionally good photo.
