Not a fan of the vignette, the image seems blurry or just out of focus, and the lighting seems muted.

Little blur going on, tripod? Timer or button? But I like the feel. Its a nice photo.
Any Blackmagic fags around here?
This is a close call, so bear with me. Tomorrow i am filming my graduation film with a Blackmagic cinema camera 4k (a friend lended it to me, it was a compromise - my DOP had to leave and i'll substitute). I don't know my way around cameras that much (I'm only accustomed to my Canon 650D) and I understand blackmagic is a special kind of one.
First: how much does it take to charge it completely? 1 hour? 2? I need to know this because i will be starting shooting from 11 am (9 hrs from now) to 9 pm. No extra batteries around. I can see Blackmagic discharges quite fast, so I will have to take it to a friends' place nearby to charge it 2 or 3 times. This is wasted camera time & daylight. How long do i have to keep it charging each time?
And second, please tell me any tips regarding BMCC. Is 5600 K good for outside shooting? Should i up the ISO up to 800 as the sun sets? ( I can see BMCC has low light sensitivity. Does the shutter angle have to correlate in any kind of ratio to the FPS? Should leave Zebra on? What does it do? What level?
The other scenes were shot using a Sony A6300 a few days ago, on 50 FPS. The scenes are outdoors. So i will be shooting in 25 fps with the BMCC.
I must add, I am not aiming for good and correct visual production quality that matches perfectly with standars, either. I'm shooting some sort of a meta-mockumentary. Visual errors help me and I've used a few myself, intentionally (like having a character talk to the camera with a window behind him). It's very likely that I won't even be colorising it / asking someone to colorize it for me.
I just want some shots that will look normal. No overexposure, no jerky footage, no strong tint of red or anyting. Can you please help?
Blackmagic is a meme here on /p/

Thank you you're too kind

cant you just shoot raw video on this camera if you really don't know the answers to these questions at the time?
Hi! I need shot a flash pressing a button. can I put a swich in the PC port?
>>3092257
Plug into your 127/220v wall plug is better OP
>>3092257
yes, shorting the tip and ring in the pc port fires the flash basically so yes
Why is film so nice?
>>3092201
>Why is film so nice?
Because it reminds you of the good old days.
Nostalgia is an industry
>>3092201
Because the moment is burned into the physical matter of the film. It becomes more tangible than digital.
>>3092331
did you know that you can print a digital image?
Hey /p/
What in your opinion makes a great photographer? Is it technical ability, a good eye, the willingness to put yourself in uncomfortable situations? I love taking pictures, and some of them I am very proud of, but I find myself being reluctant to really enter the world of photography. So many people are taking beautiful pictures, that lack creativity or inspiration, and it just comes off as pretentious to me. I'm not trying to bag on or belittle casual photographers, I'm more asking what you all think are the qualities that separate the casual from the artist.
My main interest is underwater photography, pic related in a photo I took in Hawaii a few years back.

>>3092140
>Is it technical ability, a good eye, the willingness to put yourself in uncomfortable situations?
Yes. The problem is, nobody can accurately gauge their own level of mastery (SPOILER: IT'S ALWAYS VERY LOW). You also have to make sure your pictures address something people give a shit about.
should I pull the trigger? worth $2400?
Are you fucking stupid?
>>3092112
>Yfw they add a shit-tier film for """free"""
Do it pussy. You won't.
I'm trying to write secret messages to people. Is it possible to write something with UV paint, take a normal photo of it, then, in Photoshop or Gimp, say, remove all non-UV colors?
Pic OC, but unrelated
>uv paint
so sunscreen
Does that bear have eight eyes or something wtf
So i have pic related with two aps- c kit lenses. Not trying to gearfag but like I'm wondering if i should jump to FF (I'm very much leaning to yes here but w/e) and if so is it worth it to stick with sony or am i better off going to nikon?
Used both these, thought they were nice on b&w film. Got spoiled by lack of crop - dont have the nice fov i had from the 24- 200 @24 on 35mm.
Noticed some small issues with it on my sony but i could just be this chink tier adapter
>tfw no af
Idk what do you guys think. I know you're more about lens > gear - i just wanna be in the best bang for buck / longevity when it comes to that. Between nikkor and sigma alone I'm p. Okay with nikon.
Tldr : should i switch to nikon or keep investing on my sonygger status if so should i be an apsc sonygger?

I realize what I am looking for will be quite expensive any suggestions will be thanked. If you don't like this thread just hide it. Thank you for your time. I'm running into a problem with directing models, mostly because I suck at it (but hey, I acknowledge that I suck, I want to get better and I keep trying at, which are three advantages right there.) My problem is that I make my models look forced and awkward, and I want to get past that. But I don't know how to get past that contrived look. I want them to look natural but also express the emotion that I'm seeking from them. How do I do this?
I'm not really looking for a posing chart, though feel free to post those. I'd rather just hear from the more experienced of you how you go about directing your models to express what you're looking for.

Well the first thing you need to do is get to know them. Don't just start shooting, spend some time talking with them first. If they know you, they will be more likely to show you some natural emotions.
And you need to be comfortable to, if you feel awkward and stiff they will also start to feel awkward and stiff.
TL,DR Get to know them and don't act to stiff/serious.
>>3090846
As someone with very mild anxiety, is there any recommendation on how to be more comfortable in these scenarios? I'm guessing the only way to accomplish that is experience. I can't change my past, I certainly can't fake confidence, but I know I can work on my approach and am open to all suggestions. Are there any mental tricks for that or is it simply something that comes with time? I do want to change.
>>3090842
You need to make them have fun, say things like "make love to da camera babeh", and other of those cliche but loveable lines, talk to them beforehand and cater some refreshments, actually try being their friend
Is the t3i a good camera? Asking for a friend. Would you buy one for $300 with magic lantern? Don't know the shutter count but it's probably enormous.
>>3090821
i think you can still get them brand new.
>$300
>with magic lantern
seems like a shady seller. i would get it (i have one, its pretty good), but not with him, somewhere else.
>>3090823
What's shady about it? Is the price too high?
Bump. Im also getting a t3i and I would like to know opinions and ways to improve video quality that I may not have thought of
