it´s a homework
>>3090577
how?
New to /p/ and photography as a whole. I need a DSLR or PnS camera for one of my classes. A friend is willing to sell one to me for $150 with a lens. Is that worth it today for an amateur? I might become more interest in the hobby down the line, but right now I just need something for class.

D40 is a fine camera that will work for you until you figure out whether you want to pursue photography further, and then some. Get it.
>>3090418
It's fine. Don't worry about your gear. Seriously. Don't. The D40 is an old standard beginner's camera. It'll get the job done and allow you to learn the basics. Plus, if you don't like photography, it's not a big investment. But for real, don't worry about your gear.
How does one achieve such a pleasing photograph?
Get a pleasing model.

square comp is just comfy.
So i'm looking at upgrading my Sony a6000. Want to have some gear that'll make this hobby also a hobby that'll get me a few extra bucks every now and again. While the a6000 is pretty okay, there's just so much new and better out there.
I wanna jump to FF. so probably going to hit up the a7r2. Looking for some first hand experiences on it tho.
I wanna start getting /out/ more and doing landscape photography. Probably going to do some hikes and shit, also wanna do indoor stuff... What i really want this camera to be ready for is a trip to greece next summer cause fucking hell is it so pretty.
Anyway - any experiences? accessory thoughts? lens thoughts? Thinking of building up my canon lens because video seems to just be loving those lately which is good for if i ever decided to up my game in video (I think i'll probably just be fine with this camera though)
I'm thinking right now to get an a7r2 + Battery Grip + maybe an FE Lens or two depending - maybe an FE lens and a Sigma MC-11 (thoughts? - theres also a decent atomos kit on b&h)
Also what are good financing options? thinking about doing a Signature loan (Local place will get me up to 5k) from a credit union. It's not that i can't afford the camera + gear i want. but having more time to pay it off right now is really nice.
Thanks /p/.
Pic unrelated - taken with a6000 & Nikkor 50/1.8
It's a stupid idea to rely on financing to get new gear. It's a particularly stupid idea to take out a loan for gear before you travel.
The quality of your photos and your ability to market yourself is the barrier between you and making money with this hobby, not your gear. Sun drenched Greek shores begging for base ISO are going to look great with basically any camera from the last 10 years if you're not fucking it up, it doesn't matter if your body is FF or not.
And if your basic bokeh whoring literally a leaf photo is any indication this is all a delusion you should acknowledge sooner rather than later. Buy lenses if you have to buy at all for now.
a7r2 is a fine camera. Attach any batis lens to it and you will have fantastic photos that are tack sharp from corner to corner. But I think you should buy new glass before a new camera. Also the camera grip is stupid. just buy an extra couple batteries instead.

Cringe - the post
Guys, I found this yesterday on a flee market.
I bought it 20€ (22,5$) , but I realised that the mont was not an m42 mount, but something I never saw.
My question is this : is it an obscure mount I never saw or does this lens miss an adapter or something like that ?

Oh I get it ! But does anyone know what mount is this?
How come I can't find this on the internet: 24 photos of a same spot, one for each hour of a day. (Not timelapse video, each individual image.)
It sounds like a very common thing, but I just can't find any.
Can you people point any?
>How come I can't find this on the internet
because its a dumb fucking gimmick?
>>3089100
>gimmick
That's not *the* reason. There are things way dumber on the internet.
>>3089100
Then it should have as many versions as a long exposure water shot. The internet is filled with variations on dumb fucking gimmicks
Never before has so much fidelity been available in cameras that are so small and so inexpensive. Almost all technical barriers to good photography have been removed. Phones have good enough cameras to take credible photos for most purposes. The only discussions that need to be had about photo tech involve what tool is best for a given application. Content is king.
Why are you still shitposting about gear?
>>3088354
>The only discussions that need to be had about photo tech involve what tool is best for a given application.
thats literally gearfagging, dude.
you killed your thread before it even started, 8/8 m8.
Blah blah blah
The best camera is the one you have with you
Blah blah blah
Still don't understand why people make bait threads they're always so obvious to spot
Welp, I finally got my hands on a camera. This is my first thread here where ill be dumping, and I'm looking for critique. Im about to share some shots, which are the close up cliches that newfags love, but any feedback will be appreciated
Im looking into finding better things to shoot, or better ways to shoot. so yeah, lob that critique and stuff

How many folks around here shoot nude/semi-nude work with models regularly? Just curious. It's the main thing I do, but I don't post work like that here, just because it's 4chan.

I just got one of these to replace my SLX.
It arrived in the mail and I popped the battery in only to have the mirror slap up and get stuck. Literally the first time I used the camera.
My guess is that this is not a catastrophic failure because the seller tested the item and because the aperture and leaf shutters in the lens still seem to operate fine.
Does anyone have experience with the 6006/SLX? The battery seems to work in my SLX just fine but now I'm thinking that maybe the SLX needs less charge to operate than the 6006. I'm charging the battery right now to try that.

Hey /p/
I just got this new camera and i never done photography before so i got a few questions.
