Hello /p/.

I bought myself a Sony RX100 for my next trip. I was aiming at a max 400-450 eur camera.

Did I do good? I got 2 weeks to return it and I based my purchase on reviews and clips I found on yt.

Did I?

I'm clueless, I mean really, really clueless and I got 2 weeks to give it back to the store so help me out here.

A quick search in Amazon came up with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF7 for the same price
- Bigger micro4/3 sensor
- Interchangeable lenses (m43 format is open by the way)
- Barely 1.5 cm bigger with the included lens, body itself is more or less the same size

So, I wanted to try something new with shooting and limit myself to a specific location. These were all taken near or on my city's waterfront over the course of two days. The long exposure stuff was shot with Acros 100 and everything else was a mix of HP5+ and TMAX 400. Comments and crits are encouraged - rip my work to shit.

I"m Depressed Edition

Sorry I haven't been round at all, I'm losing my mind.

Anyway here's a small thread of some shit I've cobbled together from the past few months. I'm moving to Oregon in August so I'll hopefully be delivering some delicious PNW vibes in the fall.

What would be the best ILC from any system, that you wouldn't be afraid to whip out and walk around the unknown city?

I'd like to upgrade to get better tech, but to something I will not be afraid to use in travels to more and hopefully less civilized places. Bonus points for toughness.

Probably an older Olympus/Panny with a 14mm and whatever normal/tele you prefer. Those bodies and lenses are cheap enough that you can afford to carry a spare and not worry about what happens when the one that's on you get jacked. Also won't attract a lot of attention.

a Panasonic, GX7 or GX85, or the G85 if you need something splash and dust proof (or maybe even a GH4, which has come down in price a good deal since the GH5 was released)

Pannys are great cameras and don't have the same name brand cachet w/r/t cameras as Canon, Nikon, Olympus, or Sony, so slightly less a theft risk, too

What should I bring for my first fashion shooting with a model? I don't want to fuck it up and get the best results possible.

D3200 with the 35mm 1.8
or
A7s with either standard sony FE 28-70
or adapted 58mm Helios (which I think is sharper than the sony)

We're going to be shooting at a laundrette and at a funfair in the evening.

I also plan on taking my minilux (40mm) and shoot film aswell.

>A7s with either standard sony FE 28-70

probably this. it'll let you shoot after sundown. I'd recommend the 58 prime if you had a wide prime to complement it, but better to carry one camera and one lens if you're going to be walking around.

good luck, op

if you know how to use one effectively, bring a strobe or flash. people should not shy away or be afraid of the flash. flash is your friend and will bring out details you can't get with just natural light depending on venue or sun angle.

or you could go to the same area and frame your shot better. Preferably when the sky is better and with the light-up star in better detail, since that is the main focal point

I meant which tool in Ps. There's no way to take this picture without the huge pole in the way, since it's so damn tall. From the roof of the closest building the pole and light still end up going above the mountain

I did not request any money since I felt like I didn't deserve it.
Going forward, I have no idea how to price my work. Can I get some suggestions from you anons?

shutter speed lower than 60 and motion from either the subject or the camera

Dumb question but do you think a phone like S7 edge could achieve that or is this solely reserved to actual cameras

hm Ive never used a samsung but honestly maybe if you took a video and then took a screencap, because videos on phones usually have a little motion blur
