I went out yesterday and tried out some new things, among which some different pp
It's nothing amazing but I hope the feel I was going for becomes a least a bit noticeable
Also the first time I went out around sundown and that made it quite a bit more fun, the light's very different than what I was used to
Tried to copy that one anon that gets these really nice industrial pics but I still haven't found the appropriate location for that
>please give your opinions
I know at least half of you will think they're boring but please say something constructive as well desu

I've just sold my Nikon stuff (D3300 +kit lens +55-200) and now I have 400 bucks, should I go sony aps-c or get a better nikon body(I still have old nikkor glass I use with my film camera).
Is the sony meme even real?

Any camera you get will be a tremendous upgrade compared to what you had. I have an A6000 (that I recently picked up for dirt cheap) and a D7000 that's my workhorse. The A6000's EVF is useful, mainly for adapting lenses and getting nailing focus on the eyes at high apertures. Shooting into the sun the EVF is hard to make out, and in very dark places the EVF has a tendency to lag a little. It's compact size makes comes in handy while doing street photography. Also, you can set a range when using auto-ISO, which is a feature I've never been able to find on the Nikon Prosumer line (perhaps I'm not looking hard enough)
The D7000 is a brilliant piece of equipment. The optical view finder is bright and it has more than enough focus points. Ergonomically it's perfect. It's heavier than the a6000, but realistically people complaining about how much their cameras weigh them down on long hikes are bitch made. The view finder covers (from my experience) 95% of the frame. With Nikon you also have a huge selection of lenses to chose from without having to use an adaptor.
If you do mainly portraits or street photography I'd recommend a camera with an EVF. If you want an all around camera I'd pick up something with an optical view finder. Just be sure to get something with two dials and potentially an lcd screen at the top.

The A6000 is a nice camera, but I'm going to second the D7000 since you already have a collection of older F mount lenses.

Above is a D7000 shot, and this is an a6000 shot. I've found that the a6000 is so compact that I can take it with me everywhere. It's nice to have incase you ever see anything that'd make for an interesting photo.

Yeah, but the monitor is wonky. Despite that, even with a new battery it's a pain to use. It doesn't last more than a couple dozen shots. I could buy a D50 for less than $50.
convert it to IR, scrape off the bayer filter for a Nikon Monochrom
I'm a semi-experienced cinematographer that started on digital and want to learn more about film. Shooting motion on film is way outside my budget but I want to get a 35mm Camera and shoot photos with it.
What's /p/'s recommendation for something not too basic that's reasonably affordable but allows me to experience the process of using a microprism ring, turning the crank and developing photos etc?
I'm looking at the Minolta x700 (found one for $120AUD with a 50mm 1.7), but also interested in the Canon AE-1 as I have some FD lenses and some of my EF glass could potentially be adapted to it I think? Should I look at even older rangefinders?
I don't need a full pleb proof camera, I have a solid understanding of photography fundamentals and light.
Post some cool photos you shot on film I guess.

>>3090777
my advice is be patient, keep shooting on digital and scour gumtree + op shops until you get a really nice deal on a camera
I wouldn't fork over $120 for that. remember, these ancient cameras are in closets all over Australia and are trading hands for peanuts all the time. why, just last week, a guy I know bought a working Nikon FG with a 50mm 1.8 from an op shop for $5. five fucking dollaridoos.
just hunt around until you find something, do a quick google search to find out about possible quirks while you check its physical condition, and if you're satisfied, buy it.
you could even ask around if anyone you know has got an old camera. spend the money you save on film, that's the expensive bit.
I'll sell you this Canon F-1 for $140 shipped. Works great and is way fucking better than an AE-1. Was Canon's top of the line camera, used by the Navy Seals and what not. Fully manual, can work without batteries (only the meter relies on battery power). 1/2000th top shutter speed. Built like a tank.
FWIW EF glass can't adapt to FD. Well, it COULD...but it'd be incredibly difficult due to the FD mount locking mechanism and I'm not aware of any adapters out there.

Honing the time-tested tradition of gear threads, I'm here to ask about this lens. Anyone have any experience with the 60mm 2.8 DN on Sony? My other lenses are a 12mm and 24mm, so I'm thinking of adding this to the long end, for a change of pace if you will. Does it deliver, and is it decent enough for macro-ish images? Any experience with it? Pictures welcome.
>>3089169
I have it. Yes, it delivers! It's a very sharp lens - a definite contender for *the* sharpest of cheap lenses across APS-C systems.
It's not a great macro lens on its own, even with cropping you're just a little too far away. You can do something with extension tubes or achromat close-up filter lenses - but you can do that with all lenses.
If you want macro, I basically recommend the 90mm (yes, it cost money and yes, it's the best option *even* on APS-C) or 50mm macro. If you can't afford these, maybe the Samyang 100mm macro.
Wrong computer to post my own pictures, but obviously there are enough on the internet, and most are from the E-mount Sonys anyhow:
https://www.flickr.com/groups/2706160@N23/pool/
>>3089169
This is probably the best "bang for buck" deal in all photo gear that's on the market right now. This lens has ridiculous sharpness for it's price, if you don't have it already you should buy it. It easily could be sold for twice the price. I have this lens for half a year now, used it for portraits and some macro photography with macro converter (without converter focusing distance is to big). Honestly, this lens is so good that it gives me better results than enlarger lens when I use it for scaning negatives.
All three from art dn series are amazing (I own this one and just bought the 19mm one) but this one is optically the best. If this lens had a dick I would suck it on a daily basis. I'm gonna post some samples when I get home from work.
>>3089169
There is no way i could make this one work on my D90 is there? Any similiar alternatives?

Yes, thank you for your opinion but I really love his style, even in his non nude portraits. So I was hoping someone would have an idea on how it is achieved.
Over the weekend I took a lot of pics with my new a6000. I imported the photos onto my laptop, opened them in Adobe Lightroom, did slight editing, and then resized the picture to be small enough to post on 4chan. The problem is I can't post any of my photos because 4chan is saying my photos are embedded. I don't know exactly what this means or how to fix it. Can anyone help a noob?
