So I know I am probably going to catch a lot of shit for this post but I bought pic related a few days ago and this is without a doubt the fastest car I have owned to date. I don't know what your definition of fast is but I am more than happy with the power output of this little thing at the moment.
My question is: I have noticed that the front tires spin whenever I try to go full throttle even in second gear which interrupts the acceleration. Is there a proper way I should be flooring it to prevent the tires from spinning and obtaining maximum acceleration feel?
>>17733571
Yes, by not jabbing the petal straight to the floor. Be smooth with it
just ride the clutch all the way through the gear to stop the wheels spinning
>>17733589
It's a DSG. I would have gotten the manual but I am not going to say no to 8ms shifts

Hey!
I have an issue.
My car is an Alfa 75 TS, it has a 2 litre petrol engine with bosch ML4.1 engine management (MPFI)
The original fuel pump got bad (3 bar), and I got a used one from a friend which is 4 bar.
Since that, only when the engine is hot, the car starts badly and cant keep idle, and runs bad on cruising. No problem on full throttle. Is it running rich?
Do I have to install an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator for the higher pump pressure?
Thanks!

have a nova with a 350 sbc and a 7004r should i go 3.73 or 4.10?
>>17732968
4.10 gears, the .7 overdrive on the 700r4 is great for running low gears.
>>17732968
Also how tall of a tire you planning on running? Or what size tire?
>>17732968
>4.10's
>4L80
>383 stroker/LS
In that order.
Hey /o/ first time posting here
I am a complete car noob. I have a 1992 Nissan NX2000 that I want to make my project car. I have started doing a little reading, but I am completely new to this. I read about someone else doing an AWD conversion using a Pulsar GTI-R engine and parts. I was thinking about doing something along those lines. I just wanted to post here to gather more ideas and opinions. pls no bully
I think an AWD conversion is a bit much for a total noob.
Begin with maintaining it yourself until it is almost flawless, by then you will have a lot more experience.
>>17732926
It's not really in driving condition at the moment. I blew a rod through the engine way back. At first I just wanted to get a new engine for it, but I would like to change it to AWD or RWD at least. Thoughts?
>>17732940
My thoughts are that you might get frustrated and end up scrapping it if you try to take a bigger bite than you can chew.
If you have no experience at all, even an 1:1 engine change will be quite something but doing the engine and an AWD conversion?
You better be really determined and do your research and then even fucking doing it or as I said you will throw the towel two days in.
If I was you I'd check it out throughly if it is worth the hassle, think about if you can really do it and also look around if theres not a better condition NX2000 around to do stuff on. You could still use your original one as part donor and sell the rest you don't need or even better, keep the parts for later.
Did you meet the real Fujiwara Dagumi?

hey /O/ im trying to help my buddy dump his shit box. I have a craigslist ad written and I want you guys to read it and let me know what you think- I know we are asking too much but fuck it at this point. Be honest too, if its a shit ad just let me know. I want to get rid of this painful miserable shitbox that I broke so many knuckles on, left us stranded so many times, made us all miserable and hated.
https://boise.craigslist.org/cto/d/1991-volkswagen-jetta/6267234563.html
god help us
First thing to do is drop the price down to like $500.
$1250 is way too much for that literal shitbox.
But good luck, having no A/C is a huge turnoff for normies buying a used car.
>>17732853
I know man, I'm hoping what happens normally in my area is mexicans will come crawling over that car and pay like $800 but im losing hope
>>17732853
You're fucking doing it wrong, faggot.
It is normal to fucking overprice your shit and then let the haggling begin while you have your lowest limit in mind.
Both parties know the original price is bullshit. And if some madmen actually pays that much, even better for you.
If you're too close to your absolute minimum, you're doing it wrong.
Guys are my shocks okay
Can't see any leakage so that's a start, have you tried compressing it and seeing how it responds?
On my car I normally press say the corner of the bonnet down and let go, if it rebounds immediately to where it was before I pressed it, theyre fine. Otherwise it may wobble 3 or so times before levelling out to where it was in which case theyre probably cooked. Change your bushes too if you take the shocks out they make an even bigger difference sometimes.
>>17732692
>>17732701
Sorry I should correct myself that it may only be one shock that is worn out, genuinely you would do my test on all 4 corners of the car which will tell you the health of each individual shock as sometimes you can have just 1 bad shock (rare but happens)
>>17732701
The shock doesn't bounce back at all and it makes a cumfart noise when I push it down

if you're ok with the glass transmission I guess. you can get a $3k civic and a $4k Miata and have way more fun
If anyone who owns one could take a detailed picture of the underneath of the drivers seat that would be great. Im trying to see if the seat rests directly on the floor or on a lump like some cars. Thanks.
im looking for one like this but obviously the bottom half of the seat by the floor. I cant see to find anything and it will be a while before I go to a dealer and check one out

Thoughts on these they seem like theyd be destroyed less then the neons?
They're heavier and slower than the Neons
>>17731934
If you can actually FIND one, they're pretty worth it imo. A simple tune pretty much unlocks an extra 50-70hp and they're great wagons.
The normal trims of the Caliber aren't, but I've been told by people who've owned the SRT4 Caliber that it's nothing like the regular one. Much like a Neon SRT4 is nothing like a regular one.
>>17731934
you're correct though.
They have great motors and transmissions.
They respond great to mods though their aftermarket is a little more restrictive than the neons but they can be made pretty quick relatively cheap still - you're just pretty much stuck with realtune & MPx products. Not that there is anything wrong with that it's good stuff but it means there arent much in the way of sales and such. The used parts market isn't very big.
That said though I loved mine and am planning to pick up another. It's to the point nice ones with 70-100k are selling for $7000-9000 which I think is a steal compared to what similar cars are bringing.
The drivetrain is all SRT engineered and is pretty stout. The chassis is Chrysler and it shows, a lot of their common problems are dumb things like the power door locks, horns failing, etc - but nothing too expensive.
Their biggest known weak point is while the internals themself are pretty durable - 400hp+ kind of becomes russian roulette. People have issues with the sleeves shifting/cracking. Some people make it forever at 400hp+ with no issues, others have them fail.
Outside of that they're great cars though. I'd highly recommend just a MS1k v3 mail order tune and enjoying it. Bumps from 280hp to around 320-330. It bumps timing and leans it out to make the tune take advantage of 91/93 octane better and also if using the stock wastegate it also ups the boost from the factory 11-13psi to 17psi.
They even handle pretty good for basically being minivans. They have good brakes as well.
I think they're great cars if you want something quick that can be a nice fun reliable daily but don't want to pay the boyracer tax on turbo ecotecs, wrx's, evos, etc.
