Can someone run a plate? Wanting to buy this CR-V on craigslist, but the guy didn't leave a number. Was wondering if someone could get his name for me so I can search for him on Facebook. Wisconsin plate 679ZPL.

Hey /o/
I'm looking at getting my first personal car within the next month or so and was going to ask for advice.
I have my heart set in a Cooper S (2008+ and more specifically a 2013).
Basically I was wondering how everyone felt about the following:
Bags - Coils
Forged Pistons
Upgraded turbo (brand preferences)
Rims you think are nice (I like OZ Rally but not sure how much I like them on the Mini)
And other simple mods
I can do maintenance and other work, but I know nothing when it comes to aftermarket. Especially when it comes to fitment (I wanted to widebody the car at some point, but not sure how to go about it with rim and tire size [for width])
Sorry for asking so much, and thank you for those of you to reply.

>planning on mods before you've even driven the car and learned what it needs
Foolish desu
I have driven several Mini Coopers before, they weren't the Cooper S but I enjoy the size, even though I'm slightly cramped at 6'4 haha
>>17730849
Buy an older R53 Mini JCW instead. The later models had so many problems
I've got a 98 Ls1 Corvette with a couple minor problems. The one that I can't find any info on, is that the back lighting on the climate control panel won't turn off. Would it be a fault in the wiring or the panel itself?
Any way, thought I'd make a small issues thread.
You’re asking about Corvette issues on /o/. Good luck, we hate Vettes.
>>17730796
Is there any aftermarket mods installed ie stereo, amp, subs, alarm. Make sure the lights switch is turned off. Are there any buttons sticking, give it a couple love taps.Do all buttons and systems/function work on the mentioned panel?
>>17731038
Vettes are literally the best performance per dollar on the market. what are you talking about
>AMC I6 engine
>>17730648
What's so great about inline 6 engines anyway? There must be a reason why V6 is more popular.
>Chrysler reliability
>>17730969
V6 is popular because packaging. It's much easier to fit into almost anything and hide it behind the front wheels for balance.
10 years after your death, a normie will choose a used 5k Nissan Rogue over the 3k Miata you babied and tucked in at night.
Good
You forgot to put "one day" in the op
What's wrong with that? Why the fuck would you want a know-nothing normie who abuses the shit out of their car to buy something you spent so long maintaining?
WHY THE FUCK ARE AUTOMAKERS NOT BUILDING THEIR BEST SHIT WILL GAS ENGINES GO EXTINCT SOON AND THIS IS ALL WE WILL HAVE TO LAST US THE REST OF OUR LIVES?!?!
t. never driven an electric car
Theyre not building their best shit because of money. They need to make the cars break on purpose so they can sell new models.
does anyone even care about gas engines
One day you'll die before changing the oil in your new car.

Hang yourself if you did it on roads shared with cars.
>>17730476
Nah, I wouldn't do that I know the pain, it's mostly mountain roads where cars can't go, there are normal roads, but I prefer the rough terrain.
>hey guys just give me money, I totally have the knowlege and experience to restore a car
is there a bigger cuck in the automotive world than regularcars?
>>17730376
That was a regular car at one time. Unless you die young, you'll see the regular cars of today become sought after classics, and to you will just look like fixed up junk. So go ahead, fix up someone else's old junk.

Decided I'm going to work on my minivan myself and invest in tools. I need to replace the control arm bushing, and change the oil so far.
Was thinking of investing in a hydraulic trolley jack and jack stands for future repairs too. Is it safe to get a cheap $50 set off ebay (well probably a little more because it weighs 2 tons) or should I spring for something better?
I could maybe afford something $1-300 if it's a worthwhile investment not snap on or anything like that though.
Also so far I have a $15 walmart socket set with a small wrench and bar, that going to be ok for now too?
Any suggestions on what brand of tools or anything like that it what else I should be getting? Thanks. Pic unrelated
not sure about advice on jacks and jackstands since i've never bought a set, already had one from parents.
what i know is, avoid chinese tools.
all you really need to do anything mechanical with a car is a socket set, a torque wrench and jack/jackstands. anything else is a specialty tool or something to make your life much easier
1/2, 3/8, 1/4 sockets, extensions, ratchets
metric/standard wrenches
screwdriver set
pliers, sidecutters, channel locks
just go to Harbor Freight on a weekend sale and load up.
>>17729538
Craftsman is going out of business, but they sell a ~200-300 piece mechanic tool kit that comes with 6 point 12 point 1/4 3/8 and 1/2 tools, along with spark plugs sockets. It is probably the best bang for your buck when it goes on sale for about $200. It also includes wrenches and Allen keys. Pretty much everything you will need.
Add some pliers and an oil wrench and you are set. You can drive your car on top of a plank of wood for oil changes.
The trolley Jack's generally suck. You might be better off buying a good set of jack stands on any old bottle jack until you can afford a nice jack. However, Jack's are more of a convenience too, as any lift does the job until you set it on stands.

I need a cheap car full of space while not being huge, because I need to carry people and things at least for one year.
Was thinking about the Fiat Multipla because it has a fuckload of space and dat 3 seats front row, also thanks to this board this car started to be more appealing to me. I guess I have a new fetish.
The first gen is cheap as fuck, the 1.9 diesel it's < 1000€
