Why haven't you switched to automatic transmissions yet, anons? Manual is way outdated and useless since you cant multitask. Its also boring.

I prefer to have full control over what gear I am in.
Manual transmissions re cheaper to rebuild than automatic transmissions.
I don't particularly care for multitasking while driving.
I consider driving manual to be fun.

Some cars are better off with a manual than auto. Vice versa.

Different strokes for different folks. Why did you make this thread again, OP?

What would be a good cheap project car? I'm a beginner and would like to learn how to do things on cars but I don't want to use my dd. Where would you recommend looking? Craigslist? Auctions? I don't want to spend a lot of money. I also live in America if it makes a difference. Ty.

Get an older Jeep. TJ or XJ preferably. Simple to work on, parts are pretty cheap, and a lot of potential for upgrades.

Get something cheap, with a large market. Dont just jump to something that may be amazing but requires a particular buyer. You might be able to restore a 70s mercedes but youd also need someone to want to buy it.
Try something simple like a neon or a beat corolla.
Yesterday i sold a 2005 lancer with close to 150K miles for $2,000. Got that beat POS for $450. Pic related when i bought it.

Also, don't underestimate the work you may need to do.
>>
I would not buy anything 1985-1995.

Older than this range carbonated no computers minimal electronics (could have problems finding parts check this before you buy)

Newer than this range you get OBD2 diagnostic, fairly stable fuel injection, air bags, AC

If you buy something in the range you will probably have computer or electrical problems that will be hard to work on with some parts being remodeled or changed yearly

Also something I should have included: where would you want it on the sliding scale between race car and luxury?

Far left being basically zero luxuries or features, just enough to make it street legal. Far right is luxury GT car with everything you could want.

Why hasn't Nissan made a Supercar yet?

Many say the GT-R is a super car but it doesn't look like one. A super car is generally outrageously expensive, radically styled like nothing commonly on the road, top in tech and in speed, uniquely built and etc.

Nissan already has the tech to build one. They gave their hand in R390 and the present GT-R. They can make the existing 3.8L more powerful and build one. Why?

Lel my honda accord did that as well. Kept on finding my floor flooded after It rained. Turns out that it came loose because it's just two tubes that sit in one another (no glue) against the sidewall and can be easily pulled apart.

I'm thinking about buying a Mitsubishi Lancer 1.8 Sportback MIVEC as a shitbox. Found one from 2011 with 80.000 km in pretty good shape. But I'm having trouble finding info about reliability and upkeep. I don't expect it to be a civic or corolla, but at least not to fall apart like an audi...

Any experience with them?

Same model as pick related but in black.
