Hey /o/ I was cleaning up some junk and I found a oil filter.
It's a fram extra guard PH25.
I think it's between 25 and 30 years old.
You guys think it's still good or should I toss it?
>>15489233
It's fine, but do you even still own the car it goes to?
>>15489233
>fram
its never good to use, no matter the age.
TIRE knowledge guys/TIRE STRETCH etc HALP
So I had these wheels custom made to order for my Z. I told the company I wanted 18x10 ALL AROUND, because Im not a staggered type of guy.
I get the wheels, and the rear ones are obv not 10 inches but 12, these wheels have the lips and all.
So Im stuck with these now.
Now I need help with tires, also Im not into stretched tires, but apparently I have no other choice but to stretch my tires to make these motherfuckers fit.
Since front are 10' and rear are 12' and my ideal tires are 245 45 18, is that gonna work? I really really don't wanna get different tire sizes.
Question, can I run 245 45 18 ON ALL FOUR wheels???
Im literally stuck with these now. Fuck am I supposed to do? Fuck it...
I just need serious help. If I go 305 or some shit in the rear it might rub, tires that big are more expensive etc.
Plz just gimme a break, yeah yeah Im the cancer that's killing the car game yeah yeah, just help me out I really didn't want 18x12s
these the gotdamn wheels btw thnx in advance
might make this thread again tom cause its pretty late
245 on 12/10 wide wheels is going to looked stretched anyway you put it.
i was running 8 front and 9 rear with 245 fronts and 265 rear.
now, this is a shitty bait thread but ill respond with the logical answerr.
If you ordered the wheels 10" not 12"... Send them back. The shop didnt do the job correctly. How can you be an "adult" with a license and not even understand this?
And what is wrong with staggering your wheels? Theres no problem with it. Think F1 cars, just for example.
And no, 245s will look stretched as fuck.
Next time use QTDDTOT.
Sage > all fields
If you ordered 10" wide wheels and they made 12" wide, why not return them? It's their fuckup.
Going to sell it soon and don't know what it is. took this really late at night lol
>>15489052
>Going to sell it soon and don't know what it is.
>>15489107
I was given this by dad. but i don't want to do something dangerous like driving a bike lol
haha
What is the quintessential shitbox in your personal opinion?
For me, it's this. Whenever I think of the word "shitbox", one of these comes immediately to mind.

What can you guys tell me about ST184 Celica? Considering it
>>15488609
Its sex

I'm looking at an american spec 1990 GT, how are they? Reliable?
I wanted a nice fun reliable DD to race around with a good hatch. This thing is cheap , great condition and has popups.
it has the 5sfe
if anyone has experience driving it and ownership i'd appreciate it. I don't normally come on /o/
>>15488640
Very reliable and comfy.
If you can get a GTS youll be much happier though
>them seats.
Dont expect to win any races. Its really just a comfy heavy version of a corolla.
Thinking about buying a rental car. Can get something pretty new, pretty low mileage for cheap.
Don't care about fancy features, just want reliable, point A to B.
Research revealed a drawback is that it's had many other drivers. There might be issues due to different driving styles.
Of course, the rental agency could have skimped on maintenance, but that's a risk anywhere.
Most companies also let you rent "free" for 3 days before making a decision.
Anyone have any experiences/tips?
>>15488508
Not me but my family has bought two ex-rental cars. As long as they are boring ass cars you've nothing really to worry about. I wouldn't buy a rental V6 mustang or the like, but a 3cyl fiesta or a trailblazer is g2g.
>>15488508
>>15488544
Oh and to add to that as long as the car is still in warranty you've nothing to worry about. Being fleet doesn't void the warranty.
>>15488544
>I wouldn't buy a rental V6 mustang
Yeah that was one of the major warnings I saw. Chances are, some guy took out his midlife crisis on it.
Will definitely be buying a super boring car.
Well guys cant believe im going to say this but i bought a new 2016 mx-5 miata
I never have been a fan of miatas or even had Much interest in them but i really fell for the looks of the new one. After some test drives, it really grew on me. Its raw power doesnt compare to a Gt or SS but man this car has an amazing fun factor to it that puts a smile on your face

What is best way to undo smoked taillights? Judging by this picture is it a tint or a spray?
Belt grinder, headlight restoration kit.
>>15488089

>>15488089

Here we are again, another Friday.
>Why are you sitting at home, browsing this automotive image board?
>Why aren't you absolutely winning pink slips at the local meet/illegal drag race?
>What are your car related plans for the weekend?
As always, cars are better than gfs, but waifus are the best.
>>15488014
BECAUSE FWD
>>15488031
Aww it can't be that bad. You beat most RWD through corners, if you can left foot brake.
You can left foot brake.... cant't you?
>>15488014
>Why are you sitting at home, browsing this automotive image board?
I'm here every Friday.
>Why aren't you absolutely winning pink slips at the local meet/illegal drag race?
If I keep daily driving this Civic, I will die of boredom. Also, I need to get new plates for my s2k and Prelude.
>What are your car related plans for the weekend?
Probably none. Getting new appliances delivered tomorrow though, so that's fun I suppose.
>waifu
I feel like posting naval vessels today.
Who /unsafe/ here? My daily driver has
>no airbag
>no crumple zones
>front bench seat
>all-metal dash
>steel bumpers on the front and back
Wow you're cool OP please give me your number so I can fellate you
i have a motorcycle
i can be pretty dumb if i want, no helmet law in illinois.
your car is safer than any motorcycle
>>15487895
I'm driving a Hyundai Accent from 2004
> at least it has two airbags
Want to build a motorcycle with a 4age engine
What generation should I use
Thoughts on FI?
I'm a 6th year engineering major , won't graduate but I'm bored
the 4age itself weighs as much as a motorcycle
why would you want a slow heavy piece of shit?
>>15487525
Engineering major has nothing to do with it. Save your time and graduate already.
>>15487544
>revs high
>lotsa power
>can take boost
I'll just do weight reduction
What's a car to get if I love 80s wedges (celica supra, 300zx, RX7, maybe foxbody mustang, etc) if I want DD reliability and winter practicality? I've got $7000 max to spend here. I know that you can drive RWD in the snow, I'm mostly worried about rust resistance. I want to be able to enjoy A E S T H E T I C all year round.
Well mk2 celica supra is a nice idea but not sure how it will be during the winter but most of the 80s jap cars are vapor as fuck but you can also have a look at old bmws as they are very luxurious
>>15487648
I've actually had someone who owns at least two BMWs tell me to avoid them unless I'm able to do ALL the work on them myself (honestly I can't do that), unless there's some magical cheap to fix and reliable bimmer out there I feel like I'm out of luck there.
Honda prelude
1g mx6 even had a turbo

>tfw your thread is ignored
>>15487527
>tfw favorite care
>its not and riced import, European sports/super car or a classic American muscle car
So /o/ what is the most expensive part you ever had to replace on your car or truck?
For me its a Fuel injection pump on a 6.5 diesel.
oil filter housing gasket, (connects to back fo engine, was leaking)
cheap part, over 600 dollars in labor from my indie mechanic.
almost the whole top of the engine had to come out to replace it.
audi ownership is great until the car turns 10.
>>15487369
That sounds fun. Im at 1k just for that part. And i still need to pay someone to put it in.
>>15487391
i've heard a lot of horror stories about powerstrokes and cummins diesels
i'd love to own a powerstroke lariat but shit like that scares me
a friend of mine owns one, told me its been sitting in the dealership since december.
