Hey /o/ I just leased a brand new 2016 Prius hybrid and quit my job to start driving as an Uber driver. The lease was a special offer for uber drivers only $100 weekly.
Ask my anything.

im probably gonna be put in a position where im gonna have to rebuild a small boxer engine like this one,
what exactly am i gonna have to do, or would i be better off taking it to a shop
>car shit itself
>work said they would buy me any late model used car between 12 and 15K
What is a sporty late model that is between 12 to 15k? I don't want something that looks ugly.

Can we get a German engineering thread going on?
>$10,000 timing belt changes
>parts that cost less than lunch cost $1000's to replace thanks to retarded design meaning the whole front of the car needs to come off
>random parts like the ECU or fuel pump need to phone home to Ingolstadt to be verified before the immobilizer will allow the car to start, makes DIY impossible
>replacing wear parts like batteries, windscreen wipers, etc are a total chore
>taking interior parts apart are a retarded process
>seats break all the time
>shit handling, no fun, unreliable, mad MPG
Why would anyone buy VAG?
>>15490439
>$10,000 timing belt changes
The v10 in the RS6 and the 4.2L with the chain on the back of the engine would cost 2K at the most expensive shop I know of.
> retarded design meaning the whole front of the car needs to come off
Service position?? Its designed to quickly slip the nose off the car for ease of access?
0/10
>>15490481
Shit bait.
Even a base A4 have expensive timing belt repairs. Google "B6 S4 timing chain", some people just drop a whole new engine in instead of doing timing chain maintenance as it is cheaper.
Kill yourself.
>>15490439
Undoing 5 bolts to take off the front is easier than pulling the engine.
>tfw /o/ has made you so cynical and bitter that you no longer give a single shit about cars and hope every enthusiast fucking dies
Maybe you should like step outside for a few hours you might feel better
>>15490146
I dont fucking want to
I fucking hate you people and you're unreasonable demands and shitting on every car based on numbers
>>15490152
Yeah take a break
Has the new Panamera made you not say that it's ugly?
I think Porsche listened to it's customers and fans from the design standpoint and made it look less bulbous and gave it a 911 mixed with Cayman vibe.
Man, I love this car.
>>15490099
>>15490100
They made it like the 911!
My stereo crapped out a few months ago on my 2000 honda accord ex. It had stock speakers and a crappy aftermarket boss head unit. When the bass or volume was a little loud it started sounding staticy. I asked here, most ppl said replace the head unit, so i put in a decent 150$ sony piece. Helped a tiny bit, but same problem. Is the only other possible problem that i blew all 4 aftermarket speakers at the same time? The static comes from all sides. Just seems highly unlikely..
Tldr: If new head unit didnt fix sound problem is the only other possible problem the speakers?
Thanks you.
Ugh, blew all 4 STOCK* speakers.
>>15490086
nice nsx
>>15490086
Did you use the factory wires or run new speaker wire? Try turning the fade all the way to one side using new speaker wire and see if the static still occurs. It could be bad wiring or a ground loop causing the static.
What year did automatics stop being shit?
2011
>>15489912
The year automated manuals were marketed as "automatic"
>b-b-but mah semantics
they never sucked
stock valvebodies and untuned electronically controlled autos do however
Why do you lie to ppl about how much you got your car for?
I don't, I got it for 3500 usd over a year ago.
850€
Am I lying? y/n?
$1750 for the Ram (listed at $2500)
$1500 for the Fox (listed at $3900!)
Not a Jew but I definitely negotiate like one
What does /o/ think about the Kia Soul? I never see it talked about here. Not looking at one, just curious.
>inb4 It's a Kia/It's Korean
yes we know that. Thank you for your invaluable input.

>I never see it talked about here
Because it's a shit.
>>15489836
one of my coworkers has one and never talks about it even though he's kind of a car guy
>>15489836
It's a decent little hatchback, but its unexpected popularity has caused Kia some problems.
The factory that makes them has been running at full capacity for years now. Every single car gets sold almost before it leaves Korea. Kia seems to think it's a fad and won't build a new plant to make more to meet demand. Because of this, Kia can't add any new models to the Soul range. Kia's been wanting to add a performance model to the Soul range for a few years now, but the popularity of the car and the fact the factory is already running at full capacity keeps them from putting it into production. Kia even previewed what a Soul performance model would be like with the Kia Soul Trackster concept, which had AWD and a 250 HP 2.0L Turbo. Would make for an interesting Focus ST, VW GTI, Civic Si and Subaru WRX competitor.

What is it like 1880 or something? Anything with short gearing will hit 60 quick as hell. 0-60 times are so irrelevant drag racers don't even acknowledge them.
Let's compare 60-150 or 1/4 mile times if we wanna have a real dick waving contest.
Redpill me on this car

Lots of trouble, usually serious.
hi
That E46 be looking mint.
So /o/, I misshifted into 2nd when I meant to shift into 4th, and I over-revved the engine, now the car has low + rough idle. How fucked am I? Did I cause permanent damage? What are my options?
>mfw I've been trying so hard to take care of my car and literally can't afford to have it die
>>15489543
bent valves. pull the head and replace whats broke
>>15489543
This is the 6th thread where someone has done the exact same thing, I'm seeing a pattern here. Your car wouldn't exactly let you "just" shift into 2nd, at least without your clutch screaming at you.
I think that you should look at your tranny if this really happened, and then your engine, and then yourself.
>>15489543
i downshifted once from 3rd into first when i was learning to drive.
nothing happened but the person behind me got mad
