Did you guys know that a 13B rotor weighs around 5 kilos? (around 11 lb. for you yanks)

Blew my mind. I never researched this until I thought about it now. It's kind of shocking considering that an average piston weighs around 400 grams.

Quick lube scam stories?
>on roadtrip across Canada, time for oil change, 5,000km away from home
>take to quick lube place
>guy keeps trying to upsell me
>no every time
>your diff fluid looks off-green like you've been driving in water (never have)
>ask if the seals are fine, they are
>oh we can fix it for $80
>no
>oh well if your warranty finds out they'll void it!
>goes on and on for about 5 minutes about my warranty is going to be voided and how they're making notes about it and how the dealer will find out (yet when i first pulled up he said his chain shop doesnt communicate with other provinces)
>say no again, and he comes back a few minutes later saying oh well you're lucky i just found out your truck is rated for 250,000 km for diff fluid change
>crawl under truck later, no leaking anything, everything is fine

This sucks because that looks hella comfy. Is this the one with the champagne cooler?
Chrysler Imperial
>>15501133
Born-to-be-poorfag here, too, but I wouldn't feel comfortable there. I don't deny that is, it's probably ultra comfy, but I couldn't stand leaving an accidental scar on anything or just looking on this pure dollar with a single dust flake.
I'd be much happier with the same profile (seating position and such + build quality) done with materials 10 times cheaper. Just cloth and sponge.
Is the C63 AMG the best performance car under 100k? The reviews say little to no flaws in this car. They say it's even comfortable like an S-Class when you want it to be.
I have saved up 100,000 and I need a performance car. I may not take it to the track but it's for daily driving. Also this car tops out like below 80K and I think I can safely pull my trigger at this, right? What do you think?
>>15509081
Also if you think there is a better daily performance car than the C63, please do say. Make sure it's under 100K.
>CTS-V
>GS-F
>BMW M5
>Challenger S R/T Hellcat
>Chebby Camaro SS
>Ferd Shelby Mustang
>Z06 Corvette
There are plenty of other options out there depending on if you want pure speed, confort, or a bit of both (which you presumably do). I'm personally not a fan of Mercedes after my dad's E63 AMG Wagon had multiple electrical issues and needed a transmission replacement under 30k miles.

comfort*
So I'm kinda fucked and need opinions. A week ago I inspected and test drove a 2004 Mustang GT in really nice shape. Ended up buying it and picked it up today. The test drive a week ago was fine. The drive home (1.5hrs on the highway) was fine.
Parked it at my house (sounding great,) and half an hour later I started it up and heard A LOUD FUCKING ROD KNOCK. Sounds awful like an old diesel. So what the fuck happened?
-Oil's full and looks great
-Not an exhaust or plug leak
-Sounds like it's coming from the oil pan
-Not an accessory problem
-Didn't overspeed or overheat it on the way home
-Oil pressure and engine temp were good
-No CELs
-Car was maintained by a Ford dealer on a schedule for the previous owner, who DDed it for 11 years
I know 4.6s can sometimes have issues, but this seems nuts. Does this just suddenly happen? Is there any way it could have been a preexisting problem and just suddenly happened?
Drain the oil, see what it looks like.
>>15506393
I'm going to change the oil and the filter tomorrow. The stuff on the dipstick looks clean. It was changed around 2500mi ago.
>>15506470
You sure it's a rod knock and not something stupid like a cracked flywheel?
What's the best Mustang color?
Brown as it represents the turd that it truly is.

le obligatory edgy contrarian post
>>15506292
All the colors come with fruity and faggy names.
Except black.
Because Black is what Mr Ford the First wanted you to get. everything else is just a market ploy.
Except maaaybe red.

>A car crash at the Nürburgring this past weekend during an open track day left two dead and three others injured.
A red 1990s Honda Civic that had the fatal wreck, crashed into the scene of another accident that a safety crew was already attending to on the track. The incident occurred on the Kesselchen section of the track, reports Czech outlet Autoforum.cz. The track was wet, and thanks to the first crash, the area of the track was also marked with yellow warning flags.

Before all the assholes start flooding this thread with "FF BTFO," I'd like to say that this is awful and anytime an enthusiast dies trying to enjoy their car is a tragedy.
burgers don't kill people
vtec kills people
So /o/, what is your consensus on people with cars their parents gave them? Does it even matter if the car was bought with daddy's money?

Spoiled brats who talk shit as if they earned it
I cannot say I care. Some people have better opportunities than others.
I get annoyed by the ones who rub that in other people's faces, but at the end of the day, I don't care. They don't pay my bills.
So it goes.
Who fucking cares? It's not as if it has any impact on my life whatsoever. It's not like I could've bought that car if they didn't have it, and them having a nice car doesn't make my car any less nice. If you get mad every time someone has a nicer thing than you, you're gonna spend a hell of a lot of time being mad.
Not really big into cars but I absolutely love muscle cars so I thought I'd have a thread dedicated to other anon's favorites. Starting to think I should keep my eye out for my dream car in the future, but I imagine a good first step would be to make sure I know what my dream car is.
So far my #1 choice is a Trans-Am, but I want to know why other anons think it's a shit car and why their favorites are better. Plus, I imagine it'd be a good way to see the best of the best from others eyes
Extra note: I don't intent to get a muscle car as a daily drive, I'll still use my Explorer for that
muscle cars are inherently shit
but since they made Firebirds for over 30 years you need to clarify which one you want if you want a proper roasting
but fuck you this is best muscle because I like it the most

Let's talk about Crown Vics, Grand Marquis, Town Cars, Colony Parks, ect.
I have a first gen Town Car that I'd like to make into a decent handling car that could kick ass around a track. (I have my heart set on this exact body style so don't tell me to get a turdgen or Miata or whatever) First I want to improve the suspension; what bits from '03+ CVPI's (or aftermarket parts) will be compatible? Will any Mustang suspension parts work? Not a whole lot of TC performance parts come up in Google so I'm wondering what compatible parts for other vehicles I could look for.
Mustang II front end, Welds in place and the entire kit can be had for $1300
>>15501282
Thank you, will a newer Mustang front end be more difficult to install?
>>15501385
Most likely. Why not just get stiffer everything? Polyurethane bushings, stiffer springs and shocks... That'll most def improve handling.
A bigger sway bar will help too.
