My battery in my 04 Ranger XLT is dead, and I need a new one. I see people recommending very from Yellow/RedTops to Walmart batteries to Interstate. Anyone have any recommendations? I have a few things that pull aux power but I'll be switching those to a second battery at some point soon.
What's in there now is a 590 CCA, and I'm trying to see which alternator it has, since its the 4.0 (which either has a 90, 95, or 115)
Costco sells great batteries.

Those are interstate now, right?

>Moose Test
Who fucking cares? If you live someplace where you are under the threat of having to dodge moose on a daily basis, you probably have to get around in a snowmobile half the year anyway.
>>16076873
This test shows avoidance capabilities rather than just hitting the object. It doesn't have to be a moose you're dodging.
I just saw one of these in person
Though it would be a meme but it isn't bad
I would see no reason to get an A6 or 5 series over the Continental. CT6 and E class are a step above. Lincoln isn't that bad, they have very low maintenance compared to competition.
Is their low sales due to >rebadged Ford?
>very low maintenance
>high boost transverse V6
>awd system with individual clutch packs
>made by ford
>>16076527
all reliable compared to any of their competitors using forced induction 4 and 6 cylinders, and shared with common laymans cars like the explorer and taurus
they're expensive for a rebadged ford, otherwise very nice places to be in. i personally would rather have a cadillac though, the newer ones have really caught up in interior quality
>>16076521
The Continental is designed for the Chinese market: to look luxury but be manufactured as cheap as possible. It's FWD and built on the same platform as the Ford Fusion, but with an extra-soft suspension and extra-plush interior so it "feels" luxurious. It has an odd selection of electronic add-ons to tick some boxes against the A6, 5 series, CT6, and E... but skimps on other more practical things.
The 4runner is the only true SUV left on the market now.

Guys help. I locked my keys in my miata. Its a 95. Both doors are locked and the trunk is closed. Is there any way in? Any help would be appreciated
>>16076369
if it has power locks, use a coat hanger to go inbetween the door and the weatherstripping to hit the unlock button.
>>16076369
Use your spare keys

thank me later, OP
What does /o/ think about the Cadillac XT5?
I mean it looks too good for a crossover.
I think I might buy it.

Are headlight restoration kits legit or a waste of money?

wet sand till 2000
polish
>>16076029
They work fine.
If it's really bad you'll need sandpaper though.
>>16076029
I bought the turtle wax one for like 8 dollars at vatozone and it worked perfectly. came with little sanding pads too, I only had to use them on the left headlight. the right one looked good just using the cream.

Waxed your car lately, /o/?
waxing is good, doing it after every washing
>>16075840
Water should sheet off the car. Not leave bubbles. Dirt stays in the bubbles and sits on the paint.
>>16076213
Wax isn't a surfactant, you'll get bubbles on even surfaces still
Is there any car in production today that you would see yourself as still proudly owning and meticulously maintaining 40 years from now? So like an enthusiast boomer that actually took care of their muscle car and have a pristine example of a bygone era in automotive engineering today.

So I need an opinion on a car that I'm looking at. It's a 1997 BMW 3 Series, it has 67,000 miles on in it for $3000. It has only had one owner since it was imported here. It looks as though its been garage kept all its life as it has no paint fading, scuffs, cracks, etc. All of the interior looks clean as well. Should I spend the $3000 on this car or look for something else? It'll be daily driver for school and work and that's about it.
Pretty good deal.
E36s are known for being reliable
S'Good car. Second to last year of the E36. That low of miles makes it worth it. You could spend $3k and get something much more boring or spend more and get something totally pricejacked.
>>16075004
That seems low. Is it an automatic? Or the smallest engine?
