I was given this shitbox, any idea how to make it fast?
forced induction
That is not a shitbox. That is a marvel of engineering. You should be proud of the automobile you have received. Right there, in your drive way, is something no one else will ever be able to give you again. It is dignity, ambition, and achievement. The short time you have on this earth with that beautiful Honda should be cherished. So hold your head high, and rejoice in your success. Unless that has a D-series, in that case kill yourself.
By sending me your wheels. I've been looking for a good set for a while but every time they're painted a shit color or they're beaten down. Fuck.
Started a dick-ass auto YouTube channel for the adventures with my Civic build. Dubs picks my channel art, Trips picks my profile pic.

10 cars most likely to go 200,000 miles
and you wont enjoy driving any of them.
http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/news/2014/03/10-best-cars-to-last-200-000-miles/index.htm
what is /o/s hang up with reliability?
I'm not going to say it is a fact but it is pretty close that the most fun cars are the least reliable.
also, if your car is silver (or white if an SUV) you should probably leave /o/ forever.
>>16080363
I drive a 99 suburban, 300'000 miles.
no problems
>>16080363
Based Honda Motor Co. makes up 40% of the list.
>>16080363
Most fun are least reliable because they're driven like turds in their overall lifespans.
Alright /o/
Parking lots
Straight or diagonal spaces?
diagonal with one-way lanes for efficiency
straight so i can pull my truck through for convenience
>>16089329
Parking in a full straight lot in a truck is a nightmare

Hello all. Trump / Clinton shit aside, looking for bi-partisan, un-biased perspective.
I want to figure out how i can best mod my 2012 hyundai tucson.
looking to put 5-10k customization into it.

Build a wall.
I would really go on a forum catering to that car not here IS my best advice desu.
Also we are pro trump here . So it's okay to come out here without being flamed by cucks on other boards

Does this thing look like a cheap Chinese knockoff from 5 years ago to anyone else? Seriously, what the fuck is going on at VW nowadays?
>>16080215
Especially since the current Toureg actually looks pretty sexy in comparison.
>>16080215
It looks like something GM would have designed in 2009.
Here's an ACTUAL cheap, Chinese knockoff.
Hey /o/. I need to get a new car. My old car needs some work to be done and its getting unreliable as a daily driver. So I have decided to store it and turn it into a restoration project.
With my financial situation pic related seems to be the most viable car for my new daily driver. It's a 2011, 4.6L V8, only has 88,000 miles on it, seems to be in good shape, interior seems in decent shape and roomy, plenty of cargo space, rear wheel drive. They want $3800 for it.
Looks like a good deal all around for a police car, but it seems like such a dull car to me. I heard /o/ likes these cars, so fill me in fellas, why are these cars so good? Hype me up for this purchase. tips and advice appreciated.
Get them right from the auction.
Try find one that spent most it's time on the highway.
>>16080196
>I heard /o/ likes these cars
I don't think so, however there isn't really any car that /o/ collectively likes.
I know a lot of people argue that police vehicles have the wrong "kind" of miles on them (lots of idling and flooring), so even at something decent like 88k, you should be careful.
2 year anniversary of DDing a 2007 P71 this month.
It's a reliable daily if you're fine with the mpgs (16city-22hwy) they're great because it's the last car built body on frame style. The overall design never changed since the the late 70's. Flip through the trip button and you'll see an idl hour meter, if it's under 1500 hours I would say the miles are accurate. More than 1500 hours I'd consider the engine more worn than 100k miles but these engines can handle it. $3800 is sort of steep imo if you're not a hardcore fan of a panther. 2011 is the last year so some say they have poor build quality, but also that year has good resale since it is the last year. If it's white that paint is really shitty. A lot of white P71s peel really early. Really simple car with V8 rwd feels, not fast but feels good, it'll cruise at any speed and it comes stock with 150mph rated tires. Interior isn't fancy but I see it as a plus. Vinyl floors can take all the dirt/mud you can throw at it and it'll sweep out. Bottomless trunk. Like a truck in sedan form.
I really want to dislike this car
ever driven one?
I'm not lowering mine, keeping it stock height on steel wheels of same dimensions because it handles so well as where i like (gravel roads etc) that it can handle really anything i need it for.
In case you have seen pictures or been in one, the trunk is almost a mini truck bed, i hauled a shop vac with tools in it and 4 people no problem. something that you really cant get from other cars in its class. Its not perfect, its basically always falling apart. And I mean actually falling apart.
its easy to do when its a fat chunk of 80s ugly
>>16080844
So whats a cool car to you?
Dashcam thread?
Who was in the wrong here, Hoon with stolen plates it angry local who rammed him?

I don't even know the rules there.. this could be a common situation there for all I know.
>>16080123
is that a police car doing the ramming?
I mean, obviously the guy essentially assaulting someone with a lethal weapon, and you know, everything else
>>16080123
wtf ? that guys even if he hoon his car at least he does it in a empty parking lot in a the middle of nowhere
but that dude ramming the car is a bit scary thought
he just fucking ram them
>accidentally knock shifter from 4th to neutral
>panic
>rev match and move the shifter to third out of habit, while forgetting to clutch like a sperg
>it actually fucking slides into third perfectly and smoothly
I tried doing it again from 6->5->4->3->2->1, and it worked every time. It also worked for upshifts.
What's going on, /o/? I know all about revmatching and whatnot, but since when could you upshift (with the exception of neutral -> 1st gear) and downshift WITHOUT the clutch AND it be smooth?
>>16080080
gittin gud usually does that
>>16080080
Congrats. You learned how to shift like a truck driver. We do it every day. The clutch is only used to stop, or start from a stop.
Why the fuck would you panic when accidentally shifting into neutral?
This is not the time to fear, that comes later when you do a hard pull and accidentally shift from 4th into 1st.
When someone knows you're into cars and you get in their car as a passenger and they say something like "let me show you what this bad girl can do."
Especially when it's clear they've never seen redline before... or if they're not sober... or both.

>can you fix my car for meee???
Have a flat rear tire on my bike pic related
Nearest mechanic is 2 miles, is it relatively "safe" to ride my bike like 20 mph to get there?
guise pls ):
No, not relatively, not at all.
Take the fucking rim off, our borrow a truck or trailer ffs
do a stoppie the whole way
>>16080005
if it's only 2 miles just give the guy a case of beer to come to you and pick up the bike.
Car battery just died because I'm high and left the lights on. Now won't start. Realistically, how much chance do I have if I leave it alone for a little bit and try again?
>>16079826
None.
>>16079826
none, get a jump you dumb fuck
>>16079826
If it's stick:
1. Put car in neutral
2. Get out and push car
3. Once its going at least 2-3kmh jump in
4. Clutch in and shift to second gear
5. Pop the clutch
car should now be on, if it's auto kill yourself
I bought a used ls400 last year off of craigslist
it had a new timing belt, water pump, tires and brakes.
I paid 3,800
when i went to show it to my grandmom she mentioned that it was leaking something in her driveway. So i took it to my uncles indie repair man.
he charged me $800 to seal something down there near the timing belt. said he doens't know whyt hey didnt do it with timing belt replacement...since they were already there. Confirmed timing belt was new.
then I was fine for a few months, Then it wouldn't start. Had to get a new starter.
paid for that & on the way home it died while i was driving. had it towed back to indie guy. he fixed it but it was another 800 bucks.
I don't drive much, but I do need my car sporadically.
now it's not starting half the time.
took it to a new shop; they said it's either a bad starter or flywheel. 800 each or 1600 for both.
Told them I need to think about it
would you fix & sell
or just sell it as is?
thanks auto...
>>16079593
op here,
im on the verge of a decent payday.
looking for a ls430
the main reason I bought an old ls400 was because it was so luxurious & dependable. mine must have been a lemon.
do the ls430s have anything I should be worried about? looking at some 05's
>>16079593
There was nothing ever wrong with the car. The stuff leaking in the driveway was AC water. The rest is the guy milking you at $800 a pop by leaving wires loose, etc. Fix your own shit.
I'm opening a Lexus garage.
