how come every other 911 turbo is like 80k+ and this one is like 40-45k?
>>16068889
because 996 a shit
"NOT A REAL 911" purists, and people don't like the fried egg headlights. Mechanically it's very similar to the 997.
>>16068889
Because it's at the bottom of its depreciation cycle.
The 993 was similarly priced in the early- mid 2000s.
>>16068925
so that means it will go up soon?
>>16068932
that's what 996 owners want to believe
I like them.
I sure as fuck don't cook eggs like that.
95% of the the time they are way more symmetrical. I get the pan nice and hot let them harden in a fairly round/oval shape then turn the heat down a bit and cook

No, the 993 was the last air cooled Porsche so those were going to go up no matter what. You can't compare the 993 to other models, and the 993 was the last of the small 911s. If you park a 993 and a newer 911 theres a huge size difference.
The 997.1 might hold it's value a bit because it was "the last of the mezger engines" but I don't think it'll ever appreciate. I think they changed the engine or transmissions on the 997.2s, I can't remember but the 997.2 isn't as desirable. The 996 was the transition into the water cooled car and not liked a lot and part of the values are from the Porsche purists, so since they hate the 996 it's not going anywhere up in price.
The entire appreciate meme is a joke. Certain models yes, but people saying the Ferrari 458s are special because it's the last of the NA engines, uh no.

Lul
Just watch, 458 prices are going to hit the stratosphere in 10 years

>458 prices are going to hit the stratosphere in 10 years
Maybe Speciales and the one offs but they made like 20,000 Italias so those aren't special.
Google "996 IMS bearing" and all of your questions will be answered.
>>16070127
>IMS failure
>mezger engine
>>16070288
although the 996 turbo doesn't have the IMS issue, the perceived quality of the 996s does affect the 996 turbo.
I, a frugal jew, am quite happy that boxter lights and miss information keeps the price of 996 turbos down as i hope to buy one within a few years.
>>16068889
>993 or earlier
Valuable because they're air-cooled, have classic, lines, and are involving to drive
>997 or 991
Haven't finished depreciating
>>16070127
>ever buying a non turbo 911

It's the only 911 that decided to look different... I want a 996 and only a 996. It's honestly the only good looking modern 911s in my book.
I don't care what purists say about them. Let it depreciate in value. I want one and I will get one.
