I recently got a 3rd Gen Acura TL that I'm thinking of doing some modifications to give it some more punch. I have a budget to add a custom j-pipe and PCDs. Should I skip that and start with a tire upgrade?
The tires are practically brand new (3000 miles on them) but my guess is that they're not amazing by any means. The tires are Sutong Hemisphere. What do you think /o/?
>>16140221
Where do you live? Do you get snow?
Best tire combo is a set of summer, and winter tires.
If you do not get any snow, or consistent weather below 40F, and not massive rain, just get some summer tires.
Sell your current ones for like $100 on Craigslist or whatever they might be worth.
Some nice bolt ons that will improve performance.
-exhaust
-highflow cat, or an upgraded cat to match exhaust diameter
-larger exhaust
-intake
-lighter crank pulley
before any of that, consider proper maintenance.
Does that V6 have like 4 sets of cats?
Auto, manual?
Plugs, oil, filter, etc.
>>16140241
-exhaust headers without cats*
>>16140241
I've done a lot of research into those bolt-ons. It seems like best bang for the buck to go for the exhaust addons like the ones that I mentioned (pre-cat deletes and the rv6 v3 jpipe). It would be around 800 bucks to do those. Im thinking it would be maybe around $1200 for two new sets of tires (summer and winter). My budget is closer to $800 but im capable of saving.
I'm really just trying to figure out if I'd be getting better performance out of a tire upgrade or the exhaust upgrades. I'm not doing autoX or anything. Just regular highway driving that I'm looking to have more fun with.

Everybody tells me something else also should i keep the car in "L" so it doesnt shift to higher gears while drifting?

Selling it or trading it is sadly not an option because of multiple stupid reasons

What is the best car manufacturer and why is it Porsche?

They're not the best, they're just niche and neat.
Best is toyota. All are just avarage cars but they are all good.
Chris Harris pls go
Porsche is easily the best sports based brand.
Which one does /o/ prefer and why (pro/cons) ?
V8 because

Why is the entire process of buying a used car so shitty?
>ads full of blatant lies
>pictures taken with a potato to hide shit bodywork
>can't test drive unless you promise to buy the car
>not even interested if you pay in cash, just want to sell finance deals
>try a private seller
>car is more expensive and in even worse condition
Lol I had this with all my used cars that's like10/10 cars although my latest one only needed suspension work and two sensors maf bypass and knock
There's a reason used cars are cheap mate luckily I didn't get stung too bad.
Ausfag here Gumtree is cheaper and just as unreliable as carsales same goes for eBay and Facebook.
Basically if the owner is a retard forgettaboutid
Buying a cheap used car is like fishing in the garbage for a good hamburger. There's a lot of awful shit, but when you get it and fix it up a little, it's worth it.
>found cheap, low mileage 09 Challenger RT
>call first thing in the morning, tell them I'll come in later in the day
>salesman confirms that car will be ready to test drive
>light rain, car is in showroom
>ask to test drive, manager says no because they'll have to clean it and put it back in the showroom
I mean, I do look young and they might not be taking me seriously but the manager was basically trying to sell me the car with a 30 day money back guarantee as some sort of compromise. I'm conflicted about giving this dealership my business even the car is near mint with less than 5000 miles.
Today is my driving test and I am incredibly bad at parking. Are there any tips or guidelines so I won't get my shit fucked up?
Practice.
>>16139183
alright
likely, you'll only have to pull up to a curb for your test, so just turn into it and confirm with your side mirror
generally speaking, since all cars are different
line up the edge of the passenger handle with the curb in your side mirror and you'll be a good distance away from the curb
if you're trying to get into a parking spot, just give it a wide berth, for example there's a spot on your right perpendicular to traffic, so you start by turning left/going more left in the lane, then turn right in. Its a lot of practice really, but you can watch people who do it flawlessly and try to copy

Asking again:
/o/rlando anons, what are the chances of this actually opening at this point? I'm not trying to be a dick to the owners since I am sure it is all because of ridiculous city stuff, zoning, licencing, etc. but I really, really, really want it to open.
What's going on with this?
>>16139029
Ace Cafe location in American (Orlando, FL). Announced as 'Opening Soon!' like 2 or 3 years ago (picture related). Still saying it is opening soon, recently they said January of this year. I drive by the location all the time and it doesn't look so promising though...
But I'm staying positive.
I want more lights on my 2.5RS because rally. What can the stock alternator handle? I was thinking of two round HID lamps and a LED light bar on a pushbar.
>>16138448
Take off that faggy USMC plate, dickweed
>>16138457
Looks like a stock photo to me, not a pic of OP's actual car, bud.
>>16138448
HIDs use less power than your current bulbs, and a LED light bars aren't that power hungry either. Your stock alt will handle them just fine. If anything upgrade the spaghetti thin power/ground from your alt.
Sup /o/. Time for another Shit post.
So my parents decided to go all out and spend a lot of money on me for my first car.
They got a 2015 Toyota Corolla s plus.
(pic related that's the car).
Any tips on maintaining Corollas so I can make this car last as long as I can?
Or is it really just all about getting the oil changed on time and getting parts checked out as soon as shit sounds sketchy?
Final question, that's the recommended time frame to use the premium gas when filling up a new car? I heard it was like 2 years.
Who ever told you about the premium gas thing needs to be put to sleep before they spread anymore of that information. It was probably your father.
>>16138405
Does Toyota make a "Corolla Si" like the honda civic si? do they have any higher performance sedan/coupe thats not the GT86 thing?
>>16138416
No.
I'm looking to get a new car because my current 2005 Acura TL is going to shit. I found it on Craigslist for 4000$ and bought it on a bit of impulse without getting it thoroughly checked out because I got tired of looking for a car after (6) months.
It had 240k miles at the time of purchase and I've put about 10000 miles on it in the past 9 months. After about 4 months a bunch of problems started popping up simultaneously. It has a rack and pinion leak, busted control arm bushings, 3rd gear transmission issues, power steering leak, transmission fluid leak, all four actuators went out on the door locks, broken headlights (unsure if just need change or the ballasts are gone too, I just drive with fog lights).
Should I even bother spending the money to fix these problems one at a time or should I just try to sell it as is for cheap? How much should I try to let it go for?
>>16138182
Fix it. Bushings are wear items so you can't complain. The rack would be expensive but if any lines need to be done it doesn't add much cost. You could probably do the door locks and headlights yourself.
>>16138182
Its a good time to learn to wrench. You should be able to fix most everything except maybe the transmission
>>16138196
>>16138213
I know very little about the mechanics of a car so I don't trust myself with these repairs, nor do I have the time to learn or attempt them. I was told a special machine was needed in order to access most of what needs to be fixed because of the way Acuras are made. I don't have any connections to a mechanic and going to an Acura dealer is going to cost too much.
What's your go-to wrenching beer?
this used to be my shit.
