VW Golf Mark IV
Look, listen guys. I don't usually browse this board, but I've come to you for help.I just bought a used 2004 honda crv. Paid 46 hunnid. Stick shift, handles like a dream, like it alot. Just one problem. Recently, I opened the hood just for the fuck of it (I don't know the first thing about motors, just wanted to look inside) and when I closed it, it wouldn't close all the way. Just didn't latch on. I tried looking up the problem online, but got nothing. Just jewtube tutorials for civics and other Hondas with the same problem. It's a simple fix, but my hood latch looks nothing like the others. I went on forums even crv specific ones and couldn't find anything. Literally what the fuck? Do you guys know anything? If not I could take it to a mechanic, I just don't want to pay for something I could do myself, even if it's a temp fix that I have to repeat. This wouldn't be such a big deal, but I live in a town with a meth epidemic and I don't want any shit smokers stealing my battery.
Pic related. Me and the ship.

The latch isn't hooking to the striker. Slam it really fucking hard and see if it closes then. Order a new hood latch and striker assembly from Honda.
Its a mechanical fucking latch, not alien supertech, fucking look at it
>>16133947
Looked at it several times. Doesn't seem to fix the problem. Any other tips?
>>16133940
Fuck, I don't want to fuck it up more. I'll try if I have no other options.
does your car have a 1jz with a big single in it?
No, I have not jizzed in my car a single time.

>not a 2jz
For what reason?
Why a Honda Fit /o/?
Because they turned the Civic into a fucking barge

lotta loyalty for a rental car
ITT we design the ultimo car
Here's mine:
>Mid Engined roadster
>AWD with selectable RWD
>Manual steering
>Nice feeling 6-speed manual gearbox
>3.0L naturally aspirated V6 with ITB
>Double wishbone suspension
>Carbon fibre tub
>Pop up headlights
>Aux jack
>All electronic driver aids able to be turned off if desired
>>16140517
>V6
>>16140517
That sounds insanely heavy and expensive.
>>16140517
>big NA V8 in the front
>6-speed manual in the middle
>driven wheels with LSD in the back
That's it. That's all.
>hp/liter is more than 100
>engine trades torque and usable power band for a useless metric that impresses clueless shitters
>HP/spark plug is less than 100

Ford UK should be spun off as its own company.
The only good things that came from the US are the Ford T and the Ford Mustang (debatable).
>>16140446
F-150 and Superduty say you're wrong. Millions of them all over the Western hemisphere.
Ford does have a big problem with product overlap IMO. Why are the Fiesta/Focus and Taurus/Fusion being sold alongside one another? The crossovers they make are an even bigger shitshow in that regard too.

Forgot about the C-max too.

Anything with more than 2 seats
Anyone have any clue what changed between the 1996 silverado 1500 4.3L V6 vortec engine on upward to the one placed in the 2001 silverado 1500?
Curious because of hearing about oil pumps failing.
>>16140271
Just a refresh, they changed the intake, and gave it a bit more HP. Other than that not much changed.
>>16140281
Seemed like it. Looking to score a 2001 c1500 tomorrow for 7K. 90K miles with dual cab, 6ft bed, and everything is mint.

I wouldn't pay anymore than 5k for that truck desu famalam
I'll start.
Sup /o/. I'll be picking up this 2006 Acura RSX this Thursday for $6600. Carfax was clean as a whistle, has 99k miles, everything works and looks great. The only thing I could find was a tiny dent in the quarter panel. Did I do gud? Am I fag?
General I just bought this and think people care thread. Anyone else pick up something recently they're excited about?
>>16138502
I mean, you could've easily gotten the type-S for that money.
But hey, it's probably faster off the line than my Integra, so good on ya.
Is it manual?
>>16138502
If it's auto, yes you fucked up. If it's manual, you still overpayed by at least $2,000
>>16138511
That's a very clean integra.
You're right, really. Type S's in my area only cost a little more. I mainly wanted a commuter I wouldn't totally hate, lol. Also insurance for the base is really cheap. So no, autotragic.
I am looking for a non SUV/pick up car to drive all year long, especially for our harsh winters in Canada. I found this one
http://www.kijiji.ca/v-autos-camions/gaspesie/1994-toyota-celica-gt-four-wrc-1057-2500/1214644362?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true
It's in french but it basically says that it's a limited 1994 WRC model with a few mods and some minor problems like a broken front bumper. I may also plan on doing some amateur rally racing with it.
How are these cars? Reliable? Cheap and available parts? Some recurrent problems?
>>16138361
Yeah they are great cars.
Worst part i can recall is knock sensor.
>>16138380
Is 200 000km too much on this car? How about the price (7000$ CAD)?
Wish I could find an all-trac. Toyota is always reliable. I'm looking at WRX hard, but considering Legacy Spec B and Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 (and Dodge Stealth). Audis also look good but too expensive for me.
Let's see how well /o/ knows their Audis.
