How strict are car laws where you live?
And why no engine? IMS failure?

If your budget is on the low side, I'd say throw a subaru engine in it just to piss off the purists. Have seen several in bugs and older porsches, never in a 997 though. I'm sure the forums would know what parts to use.

Warning: Doing this to a 997 would make you a internet celebrity.

My owners manual doesnt say jack shit about what kind of manual transmission fluid my car needs, only what kind of ATF the automatic version needs.

How can I find out what oil I need

and

Does the car really need to be level when doing this? I would have to invest in jack stands. Probably a good investment I just dont have the money right now.

I'm looking to get either a 240sx or a 3rd gen supra. I read the sticky, and I know that I'm most likely to find these cars at an affordable price with around 150K miles. I would like to to DD the car for around 2 years before I turn it into a weekend toy, but I would like it to last a while after that. If I pick one of these two cars up at that mileage, how long will it realistically last, assuming that I don't crash or ride hard, before it starts to fall apart?

Brother whatever you get is gonna start as a restomod. Use high quality parts and replace everything that needs to be and you will be fine. The cars are almost 30 years old, every piece is now a wear part and it will always be in some state of 'falling apart'.

What the fuck makes women think there are people dumb enough out there to buy a car from them? It should be a requirement for them so state the car has been owned by a woman so people know not to waste their time inquiring.

I think the lower slats would look better less in number and bigger in size. Also, too many ridges on hood, perhaps some vents?

Any alignment experts here?

My car is a bit too low for my taste right now, I'm looking to raise it up a bit before I head out for a road trip.
I had my new tires installed last month and tire alignment done as well.
If I'm going to raise my car up with the coilovers I have on by about .5". Will I need to get the alignment again? I don't really mind spending the money again to get it right since the first shop forgot to put the key lock back on.
Another question is that, what is the most precise way to make sure the car will sit at identical height at every corner? I used a digital caliper last time but it seems like it's low at one corner compare to the other 3; then it would change corner again. I lock the coilovers tight so I know it wouldn't shift.
Help please?

Yes the alignment will change, raising the car will cause the wheel to gain positive camber and it will toe out. You may still feel the car going straight if you do it evenly because the toe will be fairly close from side to side still. But it will wear your tires and cause erratic handling with the severe toe out.
Depending on your car it shouldn't cost much to align it
If you can't afford to keep doing it make up your mind about your ride height
As for adjusting it, solely depends on the design of your coilover. Whether it threads into itself and gets shorter/longer or height changes from preload.
>>
>>16164657
Yea I'll change the height this time and I'll be done. I drive on the freeway more and more and I scrape everywhere at 70mph.
Car is S2000 with Koni yellow and Ground Control coilovers.

How do I precisely keep the height equal at all corners though?

You want the height equal from side to side more so than front to back
A flat surface for starters
Take measurements of a common point from both sides to the ground
Also take measurements of common points on your coilovers side to side before adjusting. Consider leaving the left side slightly higher to accommodate for your weight
Keeping height equal is pretty self explanatory with the numbers in front of you.

Is the 90's Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 one of the most underrated and hidden gems in the sports car scene?

This car was so ahead of its time and even today these things kick ass and are so easily tuneable. I am desperatley wanting one and am so close to getting the money to find one in great condition (if possible) and making it my own.

I come from a family of nissan owners. My old man has a 1994 patrol 5L, a maxima 3.6L circa 2006, my brothers have 2x avenir station wagons (1x 4wd, 1xFWD) and I personally own an old 1996 skyline GT which gets used as a daily driver by one of my brothers.

But now im buying a 350z with MY spoiler kit (it had side curtains etc but these had to be removed due to zero clearance and grinding on speed humps). I want to know your guys honest feedback on this thing, I'm buying it with about 70,000km on the clock and will be replacing the radiator as soon as I've got it (due to the seller noting water in the transmission). This is the 6-sp manual variant of the 350z, 2005 model, pic related

OP here, not understanding the issue, our cars have very little maintenance needs over their lifetimes. My current car is a holden station wagon that has cost me almost it's current market value in repairs. By comparison my skyline cost me a $50 air filter and some tyres after my bro drove with bad alignment for like 8000km.
