My owners manual doesnt say jack shit about what kind of manual transmission fluid my car needs, only what kind of ATF the automatic version needs.
How can I find out what oil I need
and
Does the car really need to be level when doing this? I would have to invest in jack stands. Probably a good investment I just dont have the money right now.

Your manual tranny has a dipstick?

>every 60-100k miles
My shitbox has over 400k (kms tho) on it and I only just added a bit of oil to the box. Never bothered to change it out. How fucked is my gearbox?

Mehhhh you're fine. If it's making noises, or you can feel it, flush it. If not, fuck it desu

Ive read mixed things about what an oil change will actually do to the transmission.
I have rough shifting on reverse, first and second gear. You think this will help or is it waste of time? 100k miles and im not sure if its ever been changed.

Such is life with a GM.

i'd change the oil if there was a doubt that it hadn't been done in the last 50,000 miles, but also check your clutch pedal travel and your clutch linkage, and flush and refill that as well
grinding in lower gears to me indicates that one of the linkage cylinders is going bad (they will be visibly leaking), but f the fluid is dirty it would have some of the same effect
replace the master and the slave at the same time for best results
