Surely these BMW stripes must have a name. They seem synonymous with the M cars and M packages. Is there some kind of history with those colors and their use on BMWs? It seems like you can find those on BMWs going back decades.

It's the colors they chose to represent their M division. I believe it started on the 3.0csl race car

The light blue represents Bavaria, the red Texaco. The indigo is a union between BMW and Texaco for racing.
The stripes have changed over the years, the current form is in reverence of the 3.0 CSL as stated above.

sup guys so I just hit ~1800 miles on my 2017 sti so i decided to finally get on it a little on some back roads. Nothing crazy i never redlined but i didint drive it like a bitch either. The issue and my question is why did it smell so weird afterwards? I noticed a little stink in the car about 10 minutes in and then after getting out i did a walk around real quick. Honestly smelt like a tuna sandwich with some coins mixed in. Is this normal or what
